⸻ continued / @fourthclone
"oh, i'm not, shit happens and whatever." his attention was more focused on the report he got back from the lab for roche's latest blood work and he was sure that they were fudging the numbers. on paper, it looks normal, everything was as it should be but corvus was sure that it shouldn't be that way.
he's well aware on what the entire process of becoming a SOLDIER does to people and the higher ups say that the participants know everything as well, but still, it bugs him. corvus glances over at roche and he notes the look, apparently this SOLDIER is quite smitten with whomever they encountered.
"sounds like quite the guy." while a part of his brain dissects the bit of information from the report, the brunette takes roche's blood pressure and lets out a small 'hm'. "how are you feeling generally? you notice anything in particular lately? tired more often? headaches?"

⸻ 𝐅𝐈𝐍𝐀𝐋 𝐅𝐀𝐍𝐓𝐀𝐒𝐘 𝐒𝐄𝐕𝐄𝐍 𝐈𝐈
originally from outer space, corvus came to the planet several years before the nibelheim incident and established him as the local doctor for the small town, the gossip being that he had previously worked for shinra before deciding to move away due to being unhappy within the workplace.
though initially he had a far more alien-like appearance, his specie’s natural shapeshifting abilities certainly came in handy that allowed him to blend in with the planet’s residents.
at the time, corvus always felt something off about the place but he stuck around because he enjoyed the people of the village, he was enjoying his time in that tiny little village—and then the nibelheim incident happened. corvus did his best to help the survivors, tending to their injuries and he managed to perform emergency surgery on tifa, just enough to maintain the bleeding but couldn’t do much else until they could get to a proper facility.
this is how he ended up in midgar and established himself early on as a traveling doctor/surgeon, working for the people of the slums primarily for free due to a deal he worked out with avalanche–provide him the necessary supplies and he’ll help them out in return such as providing IDs to access top-side, etc.
currently he’s an agent inside of shinra hq, having forged documents to allow him a job as a medical doctor and research assistant.

⸻ @skyguarded liked for a thing.
"i think you are in need of some r&r, doctor's orders." the brunette stated as he looked over at his friend and former patient. "how do you like dogs?" he questions, the doctor himself was holding yondu in his arms, two for holding him securely so that the husky puppy doesn't jump down and make himself of a nuisance to shiro while a third arm was busy distracting the puppy with a dog toy. "not this little guy here in my arms obviously, he's still a bit too rambunctious and honestly, he would probably get away with your hand."
it wouldn't be the first time that yondu ran off with someone's prosthetic.
"tullk and oblo—" the two older huskies, who were more well behaved and trained to interact with patients in need of companionship, were sitting off to the side. "—they're open to cuddles or playtime, animals tend to be rather relaxing and good for the soul." as he learned from experience, ever since he got the two dogs ( and yondu recently ), his life has certainly improved for the better.

⸻ 𝐅𝐈𝐍𝐀𝐋 𝐅𝐀𝐍𝐓𝐀𝐒𝐘 𝐒𝐄𝐕𝐄𝐍 𝐈
originally named ‘dr. castor enic’, corvus is an alias he picked out in order to hide from shinra after what happened to him when he was 17 years old. he had once worked for the company and was known within for his rather high intelligence, not to mention his prodigal skills when it comes to science and biology. he started working for them, at an official capacity, when corvus was 13 years old and all of his work, in the beginning, centered around the ancients–or cetra as they were originally known as.
it all changed during the ‘accident’, which corvus calls bullshit on and believes that he had been deliberately sabotaged, in which it resulted in him undergoing drastic mutations. corvus survived in the end but landed in professor hojo’s ‘care’ as a new test subject, where it was discovered that corvus needs a consistent source of mako for him to live and other changes. whenever he consumes materia or submerges himself in a large source of mako, corvus mutates into a humanoid monster-like form–his skin turns lavender in colour, he gains an extra set of eyes and arms, etc. fortunately, he still retains his intellect while transformed, making it more difficult for shinra to control him as a potential weapon.
he managed to escape a couple years later when the nibelheim incident went down and disappeared to hide out in the underground. during his time underground, corvus rarely appeared on the surface and would only come out at night. he was still dealing with some side-effects and didn’t want to risk being recaptured.
corvus would reappear in public over a year later, often donning a mask ( the design changes from time to time, depending on his mood but typically it’s a cat-like mask ) practically 24/7 unless with trusted individuals.
now 23 years old, corvus travels from sector to sector, offering his services as a medical doctor for cheap to the people of the slums while working with avalanche in exchange for supplies for his clinics and his research to undo what the accident has done to him. he’s gotten a few breakthroughs over the past couple of years, but nothing too significant in regards to his condition.

anytime corvus watches a film, he always gets annoyed whenever there's a scene of someone ( who has been stabbed ) pull out what they were stabbed with fmkdlsgmldks among other things, it's why he can't really watch shows set in hospitals otherwise the tv goes out the window mfkldsmgdklsmf

"peace, stranger." the brunette stated as he looked away from his book, had been scrawling down a few notes after he finished up with gathering ingredients from the monster carcass, leaving only the head in a sack for the hunter. "the name's corvus, i'm a healer. i found you nearly dead, brought you to camp and patched you up, nothing more, nothing less."
book shoved back into his pack, the former pirate stood up and stepped closer, though he made sure to keep some proper distance for the hunter's own comfort. "considering you're already awake, your body must be making some good progress at recovering, as should be expected from someone such as yourself." he tilts his head, eyes peering at the nameless individual. "so what do they call you, hunter? or would you rather remain nameless?"
@seekspath TO CONDOR ONE.
corvus knows a monster slayer when he sees one, what kind of gear they carry and how dangerous they can be. doesn’t mean that he’s going to ignore one in need of help, especially when they’re unconscious and practically at death’s door. it wasn’t much of a struggle to move the stranger after temporarily binding his wounds, it would be better to recover away from the remnants of a battle and the smell of a dead beast, the former pirate made note to come back to grab any viable parts for future potions. he set up their temporary camp and got to work on treating the other man, using a mixture of potions and healer techniques to clean up the wound, stitch it up and forced a bit of the healing potion down the man’s throat, making sure not to drown him in the process. satisfied with his work, corvus sat himself down by the fire and waited.
Overestimation was his worst opponent of all. The last thing that bolted through his mind was the ground-shaking thud when the monster let out its last roar and collapsed & then so did he. He shouldn’t have run into it so headfirst with the unquestionable confidence that the sword would be enough. It always was, almost always. Some time later, which could’ve been minutes or hours, the witcher started coming back around to his senses, but everything was still a blur.
An unfamiliar aftertaste in his mouth fusing with the metallic flavour he was no stranger to, on the other hand; the warmth he missed slowly embracing him. Opening his eyes concealed by the dim glasses, gloved hands dabbed around his torso and arms, noticing there was no blood gushing from him anymore. Took another moment when he spotted the unknown man. Hadn’t it been for his weakened state, Leon would’ve greeted him with the blade. Lucky bastard. “ W–Who are you? ”
