You became what you think and you are what you thought. You are nothing but the sum of all of your thoughts ( good or bad ).
Every action you take, even spontaneous or unpredicted are all based on the thought you sowed in your mind way before. Your every action is the result of a hidden seed of thought sowed in your mind.
The act is the blossom of thought, and joy and suffering are its fruits. – James Allen
Tweet
When you see a man of pure heart, noble character, divine it does not cause of chance, or a gift from God. In fact, it’s the result of continued efforts in right and noble thinking. And vice versa for a characterless man.
Your mind is the biggest advantage you have in this world. Cause you can think and moreover you can control your thoughts if you want. Once you learn the difference between good and bad thoughts and how to control them, then you can either turn your life into heaven or hell.
You are the master of your thoughts, the molder of your character, and the maker and shaper of your condition, environment, and destiny.

Sow a positive thought, idea, seed in your brain instead of letting it empty, welcoming useless harmful toxic thoughts.
With the power of positive & healthy thoughts, You can shape your character and change your circumstances and destiny.
Your character is shaped and formed by the circumstances and environment around you.
Always keep learning and growing through the circumstances around you after all we are progressive and evolving beings.
Wherever you are right now in your life is the cause of the way you think, analyze, assume, & believe in things. If you not happy about where you are right now then all you have to do is change your thinking.
You are always constantly trying to change the circumstances, things around you. You always want to have control over them. But the problem is, you are not willing to change yourself. You must change the way you think, the way you act!!!
Circumstances you are in right now, you created them. And the amount of change in circumstance is directly proportional to the amount of change in your thinking.
You will get the results/fruit bitter or sweet depending upon the seed you planted. Your brain doesn’t care if it’s good or bad, the brain is fertile for all types of seeds.
Good thoughts and actions can never produce bad results; bad thoughts and actions can never produce good results.

When you’ll stop thinking negative, toxic & sin full thoughts suddenly you’ll realize all the world softens towards you. The world is a mirror, people will treat you the way you treat them. Although there might be some exceptions.
So encourage good thoughts & no one can stop from being what you want to be and from achieving what you want.

The Thought Factor In Achievement:
All that a man achieves and all that he fails to achieve is the direct result of his own thoughts. -James Allen

You and only you are responsible for where you are right now. All your strengths and weaknesses, good & bad thoughts are yours and brought to you by you, not by others. So only you and only you can alter them to change your life.
As a man thinks, so he is; as he continues to think, so he remains. – James Allen

No one can help you unless you are willing to be helped.
You can only rise, conquer, and achieve by lifting up your thoughts.
If you always keep thinking about the best results, outcomes, achievements you might get or you will get then you can never think clearly or plan anything which might help you. Having goal, result I mind is good but focus on the process, journey too.
You are limited only by the thoughts you choose.
Nothing comes for free in this world except your body and mind. To achieve or progress in life you have to pay the price, make sacrifices.
With right, useful, well-directed thoughts you will ascend in life and with toxic, harmful, confusing thoughts you will descend in life.
Once you become successful after that remaining at that place, maintaining that success is more difficult. One can only do that with right thinking.
All achievements, whether in the business, intellectual, or spiritual world, are the result of definitely directed thought – James Allen

Print |Free Audiobook |Print(In)
How your thoughts affect every aspect of your life and how you can use them to change your life is the soul of this book. Today I’ll try to convey it in the simplest way through this, As A Man Thinketh Summary.
You are the maker of yourself
The type of thoughts you encourage or choose to have reflects upon building your character, habits, and circumstances around you.
You can know about the power of the mind, thinking, the subconscious mind etc through Think And Grow Rich Book Summary.
Thought And Character:
As a man thinketh in his heart so is he. – James Allen
Tweet
A man holds the key to every situation and possesses the power to make himself what he will.
Altering your thoughts, effects yourself, others, and your life and circumstances.
Effect Of Thoughts On Circumstances:
Whether you try to plant a seed of thought or not, eventually there will be seeds of thoughts that you never planned planting. If you don’t have positive, good & useful thoughts then there will be a rise in the negative, bad & useless thoughts.
You will be what you will to be;
Effect Of Thought On Health And Body:
Your body is the servant of the mind. It obeys everything the mind says. The toxic & awful thoughts lead to disease, the decay of the body (unhealthy body) The beautiful & positive thoughts lead to youthfulness & beauty of the body (healthy body).
Thoughts of fear have been known to kill a man as speedily as a bullet, and they are continually killing thousands of people just as surely though less rapidly. – James Allen
Tweet
The people who live in fear of disease are the people who get it. Just the fear & thought of I might have this blabla disease shatters down your immune system. That’s how powerful thoughts are.
Your body is nothing but a robot and your brain is a software that is programmed with the help of good or bad thoughts. Depending upon the programming your body will form good or bad habits and depending on that your body will be healthy or unhealthy.
When your mind & heart are clean and clear they lead to a clean & healthy body.
The thought is a way of leaving, that his we express life through thoughts once you learn to control your thoughts & make them pure & clean, everything becomes pure & clean. You no longer desire impure food & you form clean habits.
Thoughts of malice, envy, disappointment, despondency, kills the beauty, health, and grace of the body. – James Allen

Steal Like An Artist Summary | 10 things to unlock your creativity
Print| Free Audiobook | Print(In)
Nothing is original, theft is the secret of a masterpiece that’s what you’ll know from steal like an artist summary. The author also shares what are the important factors in creativity, how you can boost it, how you can find your passion.
so let’s just begin……….
Art is theft -Pablo Picasso
Tweet
10 Things No One Told You About Being Creative:
Steal Like An Artist:
Artists don’t get unique, creative ideas out of nowhere, they steal them. You should also look at the world as an artist. Look around, think, and decide what’s worth stealing and what’s not.
Nothing is Completely Original!! Everything we see around is build-up on what came before. So stop trying to be completely original and look for influences, references around.
“Everything that needs to be said is already been said. But, since no one was listening, everything must be said again.” – Andre Gide
Tweet
Every idea is a mash-up of 2 or more previous ideas.
Be a collector, not a hoarder who collects everything. Collect selectively and collect good ideas. You’re only going to be as good as the stuff you surround yourself with.
know more about the power of creativity.
School and education are two different things. Whether you’re in school or not, it’s always your job to get yourself an education. Always be reading, curious about things, and google everything.
Don’t Wait To Get Started:
You won’t know who you are actually and how to get good ideas until you actually start making stuff. It’s the process where you realize what’s good& what’s not, what you should be doing, and whatnot. So don’t wait just start.
Fake it till you make it!!! Pretend to be the person you actually wanna be until you become that.
You start out as a phony and become real. – Glenn O’Brien
Tweet
From childhood, everything you learned so far is by copying. Copying alphabets, practicing scales, etc. Copying is like reverse engineering to know how things work.
“Those who do not want to imitate anything, produce nothing.” – Salvador Dalí
Tweet
Get influenced by many people, mash-up more than 2 things, figure out whom and what to copy. Don’t just steal the idea but, steal the thinking behind it too.
Don’t just imitate or copy, go one step further and make that idea your own.
Good news you are incapable of making a perfect copy. And when you fail to copy your ideal, hero that’s where you discover your own thing.
Write The Book You Want To Read:
Instead of writing what you know, you should be writing what you like.
The same principle applies to your life & career.
Think of your heroes, ideals, and their work, what did they miss, what could have made their work better according to you, go make that stuff. Do the work you want to see done.
Use Your Hands:
When you work on some projects until you use your hands you won’t get that feeling of making stuff. That’s why step away from screens. You should be moving your body, don’t make things only with your head but also use your body.
To create something unique and creative mind and body must function together. Go strum guitar, do doodling, write down your thoughts, or start kneading clay doing this will kickstart your brain.
Bring back the analog tools ( notebooks, diary, Pencils, pens, sticky notes, etc) in your working process again.
Use computers only to publish or edit your work/ideas but you can’t use it to generate ideas.
If possible then have two desks. One is ” analog” and the other “digital”. Start working from an analog desk. Here your most of the ideas will be born. Then shift to the digital desk to edit and publish that work.
Side Projects And Hobbies:
“The work you do while you procrastinate is probably the work you should be doing for the rest of your life.” —Jessica Hische
Tweet
Having a side project is very important and useful. Work on more than one project at once so you can bounce between them. This way you’ll get things done even when you procrastinate.
Sometimes doing nothing is very important. You might have noticed you get the best ideas when you are bored. If you’re out of ideas, wash the dishes. Take a really long walk. Stare at a spot on the wall for as long as you can.
“Avoiding work is the way to focus my mind.” –Maira Kalman
Tweet
If you are passionate about more than 1 thing then don’t think like you have to choose one. Keep them.
You can’t connect the dots looking forward, you can only connect them looking backward. – Steve Jobs
Tweet
A hobby is something creative that’s just for you. You don’t try to make money or get famous off it, just do it because it makes you happy. That’s why having a hobby is very important.
Share With People:
Everyone is so busy they don’t really care about what you think. And that’s a good thing. No one will notice if you fail or took the wrong decisions. You want to people notice you only when you doing good work.
Make stuff every day. Know you’re going to suck for a while. Fail. Get better. Now share your with people via the internet.
Be curious and open about your passion. Share everything about your project, secrets, process. People love it when you give your secrets away and some of them even reward you by buying your stuff.
The Internet is a place where you can share your ideas also it will help you to shape your ideas which are not fully formed.
Having a site, social media account to share your art, ideas, thoughts always inspire and push you forward to keep creating more & better content. You always think about how I can make my audience happy & give them a little more.
Connect with the like-minded people over the internet, share things with them. Share something which will add value to others life. Share a handy tip you’ve discovered while working. Or a link to an interesting article. Mention a good book you’re reading. Etc
Geography Is No Longer Our Master:
You don’t have to live anywhere other than the place you are to start connecting with the world you want to be in.
And if you not happy then make your own world. Surround yourself with books and objects that you love. Tape things up on the wall. Create your own world.
All you need is a little pace and some time to do your work.
Sometimes being alone, just with yourself is necessary for creative work. But nowadays it’s kinda impossible, so try to find solitude. While traveling keep your mobile off, cut off your wifi for at least 20 min daily, go to the park, etc.
And don’t forget to carry a diary, pen, or notepad to write down your thoughts.
Your brain gets too comfortable in your everyday surroundings. — Austin Kleon
Tweet
When you can’t do your work, feel exhausted, go out leave home. When you’ll come back home will be some but something in your mind will be changed, you’ll start thinking differently.
You have to find a place that feeds you—creatively, socially, spiritually, and literally. – Austin Kleon
Tweet
Be Nice:
“There’s only one rule I know of: You’ve got to be kind.” —Kurt Vonnegut
Tweet
You’re only going to be as good as the people you surround yourself with. Means following the best people online, who are smarter & better than you. Keep eye on what they do, suggest, share, etc.
Find the most talented person in the room, and if it’s not you, go stand next to him. Hang out with him. Try to be helpful. If you ever find that you’re the most talented person in the room, you need to find another room.
instead of arguing about stupid things over social media, try to channel that anger into making, or doing something meaningful.
Once you put your work into the world, you have no control over the way people will react to it. They may love it or hate it or some might even criticize it. At these moments you should be too busy doing your work.
Life is full of rejection, discouraging, criticism but if you lucky enough sometimes people even praise you. Maintain a praise file for these moments. In difficult times this file will give you the boost to keep going.
Be Boring:
It takes a lot of energy to be creative. You don’t have that energy if you waste it on other stuff.
You have limited time on this earth. Eat breakfast. Do some push-ups. Go for long walks. Get plenty of sleep.
Learn about money, cash flow, savings, stock market, etc. Having financial knowledge is very important to stay out of debt and wealth.
Honestly, to make a living off doing what you truly love, it will probably take you a while to get to that point. Until then, you’ll need a day job, which pays you decently, gives you enough time to work on other things.
The worst thing a day job does is take time away from you. But it gives you financial freedom and the money you get you can use on your side project.
Get a calendar, form a routine, plan work, and show up every day to do the work. It will keep you focused and on track.
keep a logbook!! It’s the book in which you list things you do every day. It’s very helpful for time management, you’ll also notice where you wasting your time when you are more productive and all.
Creativity Is Subtraction:
We live in a world of internet and the overload of information. You have to understand what’s important And what’s not. Leave out the unnecessary information. Don’t get paralyzed by the limitless options and possibilities.
make things with the time, space, and materials you have, right now.
Put constraints on yourself draw with one color only, don’t use an eraser, try to write a book with 30 words only, write a song in the lunch break, etc. The right constraints can lead to your very best work.
If you think you can do everything then you are wrong. Try to make stuff with less by starting now. Don’t wait!!
In the end, creativity isn’t just the things we choose to put in, it’s the things we choose to leave out. – Austin Kleon
Tweet
Conclusion:
Take a walk
Start your swipe file
Go to the library
Buy a notebook and use it
Get yourself a calendar
Start your logbook Give a copy of this book away
Start a blog
Take a nap

“The work you do while you procrastinate is probably the work you should be doing for the rest of your life.” —Jessica Hische
Tweet
Having a side project is very important and useful. Work on more than one project at once so you can bounce between them. This way you’ll get things done even when you procrastinate.
Sometimes doing nothing is very important. You might have noticed you get the best ideas when you are bored. If you’re out of ideas, wash the dishes. Take a really long walk. Stare at a spot on the wall for as long as you can.
“Avoiding work is the way to focus my mind.” –Maira Kalman

If you are passionate about more than 1 thing then don’t think like you have to choose one. Keep them.
You can’t connect the dots looking forward, you can only connect them looking backward. – Steve Jobs

When you can’t do your work, feel exhausted, go out leave home. When you’ll come back home will be some but something in your mind will be changed, you’ll start thinking differently.
You have to find a place that feeds you—creatively, socially, spiritually, and literally. – Austin Kleon

This book is for new writers, musicians, filmmakers, artists and anyone who has ever asked questions like “How can I become more creative?” or, “How can I get more ideas?” or “How can I focus on my thoughts and just let them flow?” Through The Power Of Creativity Summary ill try to answer your questions. So let’s begin…..

“We don’t see things as they are, we see them as we are.” – Anais Nin
Tweet
You and I have too many dreams, we both wanna achieve & have too many things but to want something & to be brave enough to pursue it are two different things.
Procrastination is the problem we all face. The problem is you are afraid to start, afraid to think big.
Once you reach a certain age you get caught up in the day to day job, other people start depending on you, worried about paying bills and conscious about what others will think about you. All these reasons hold you back from taking creative decisions and doing what you like.
All you have to do is just start small and keep improving each day with incremental changes.
The theory is nice but the practice is better
Moments Of Inspiration:
DREAMS!!! if you don’t know let me tell you all the masterpieces ever existed came from dreams. These are known as moments of inspiration.
For example, Paul McCartney wrote the song,” yesterday ” which came to him in his dream. He had no idea how wrote it. He just woke up one morning with the song in his head. Isn’t it cool.
Similarly, painter Salvador Dali preferred having a sweet sleep before working on his big ideas.
He wrote in his book,” in undertaking an important pictorial work which you are anxious to bring to successful completion and on which your heart is particularly set, you must before anything else begin it by sleeping as deeply, as soundly as possible for you to do”.
This doesn’t mean you’ll just sleep & keep waiting for the dream to inspire you or give you an idea. All these masters can do it cause they have fertilized the soil/brain and seeded their ideas long in advance.
The creative process is as much about preparation and good habits as it is about moments of inspiration. So focus on preparing yourself, creating good habits, make a schedule. – Bryan Collins

Sacrifice Non Essentials:
Stop wasting your time on useless things. You have to replace your bad habits with a good one
Are you willing to sacrifice tv, social media, trashy books, night outs??
Because when you sacrifice the non-essential parts of your day, you’ll gain the momentum you need to progress your big ideas.
Favorable Environment:
Remove everything from your workplace that distracts you (television, Games, magazines like that).
Cause willpower is finite and, trust me, you don’t wanna waste it on fighting with distractions. Leave clues like notes, bookmarks like that.
Be Efficient:
Both good & bad ideas appear at an unusual time and unusual places, like in the shower.
So you must be efficient in your daily routine.
That is why keep everything organized and easy to access, so you won’t waste time looking for pens, notes, etc.
Be Effective:
Set deadlines for your creative projects.
Turn up every single day to do what you meant to do and then stick to your routine. At the end of the month or so, review your routine.
Feed Your Subconscious:
Before going to bed read, write, or try to remember what work you did today.
Doing this will pass the idea to the subconscious, which will continue to work on the idea/thought while you are asleep.
Next morning try to remember what you dreamt & write it down quickly before it fades out of mind.
Reward Yourself:
To keep motivated yourself, mark small victories, like keeping a new creative routine or reaching a little milestone, etc, and reward yourself for it.
Doing this will build a mental link between your new routine and positive experiences.
Commit To Your Ideas:
Creativity doesn’t appear whenever you want.
You have to work every day, engage yourself in doing your craft, you have to be dedicated.
Turning up every single day builds the creative resources regarding your craft in your subconscious mind. This way you prepare your mind and body for your creative work.
Trace Your Creative Roots:
You can spend your life doing thousands of worthwhile creative goals/work. But the harsh reality of life( paying the bill, having a job, settling down, etc) complicates your ability to do what you want. As you get older, your chances of doing it go down.
Talent, hard work, opportunities are useless if you don’t know where you are going.
Purpose:
You can’t give your best if you don’t know,” why you are doing what you are doing”.
You have to educate yourself about what drives you & inspires you.
The purpose will guide you through the tough times. Find your guiding purpose!!
Mission Statement:
Most of the time you are so afraid of what people will think about you, you feel demotivated.
In such times you need a personal mission statement, which will keep you on track & keep reminding you why you do what you do.
Write your mission statement now!! Keep reviewing and updating your mission statement monthly.
Learn The Demands Of Your Craft & Audience:
You don’t have to care or worry about, what others think of you & your ideas. That’s the only way to know what your craft & audience wants.
Many great ideas are born because somebody had a problem they wanted to solve. But No one wants to invest their time, money, energy in creating a product/solution which no one wants.
That’s why instead of assuming what the audience wants, develop an early concept/prototype. Share it with your audience, get feedback, and use it to improve your product/Solution.
Start learning the fundamentals of your craft first. Keep track of your progress so you can know, how far you have come & how far you still have to keep going.
The lifelong practice is what separates amateurs from professionals & professionals from creative masters. – Bryan Collins

Find A Mentor:
The path to success is full of struggle & huddles. You’re not the only ones who struggle, want to think outside the box, needs the motivation to keep going or craves for critical feedback.
Almost everyone faces these problems and having someone or following someone who has completed the journey you are on will save your efforts, time & energy.
Having a mentor offers opportunities to learn creative skills faster & gain access to creative insights and resources. Mentor will show you how to avoid committing common mistakes and help you learn skills faster.
You will become more accomplished and creative if you have a mentor guiding you. There are two types of mentors, good mentors, and great mentors.
Good mentors are easy to find. Good mentors can be teachers, your friend, your colleagues who are more successful than you.
Great mentors are fewer and harder to come across. These are the people who motivate you, their work keeps inspiring you.
It doesn’t matter if your mentor is alive or not. Napoleon Hill suggested in his book, ” think and grow rich” to have an imaginary council of mentors.
Hill’s council included Edison, Charles Darwin, and 7 others. Similarly, you can also have imaginary mentors of your choice. Learn everything from their works, books, etc.
When you encounter a problem, ask yourself what would your mentor do, and act like that.
Strengthen Your Mind And Body:
Pain is inevitable. Suffering is optional. – Haruki Murakami

One of the best ways to stay motivated, turn up every single day, and keep going is running and meditation. Meditation and exercise will help you embrace positive change in many different ways.
Meditation is a scientifically proven way to improve concentration and memory and also to make you smarter.
When you meditate you are able to focus more on tasks & fewer mood swings occur. If you are not able to meditate then you can try running. Running is a lot like meditation.
When you are passionate and working too hard on a project, it is very necessary to have a break, so your body and mind can relax.
When you are physically and mentally healthier, you are better able to concentrate on your work and ideas.

Side Project:

You can be only happy if you can express yourself by doing what you really like.
If your main gig isn’t giving you enough time or space to write, draw, paint or play if you spend your nine to five responding to the demands of others or if you work on the project only because they pay bills, then you need a side project.
When you are messing around, when it’s just for fun, when nobody gets hurt, paid or laid, it’s a side project.
When you are stuck, can’t make decisions, feel like procrastinating, at these times you can work on your side project and relax & have some fun doing what you like.
All the work, the research you do, during your side project
You never know when this side project becomes your main gig. This book was Bryan Collins’s side project which later turns out to be 3 parts book series.
Side projects help you procrastinate and still get things done.
They also help you create new habits without taking risks or investing a lot of time & money on a single idea.
Also switching from the main project to side project gives you much-needed break.
And don’t feel overwhelmed by the scale & ambition of your side project.
Look at your side project as an experiment, be bold, do things differently, allow yourself to fail.
Work on several things at a time, and you will connect them in exciting and unexpected ways.
What you practice for just an hour or day on your side project, can change your life in the future.

You don’t know if what you are doing, creating will have the potential to survive in the market, and each day is like a struggle while working on it.
Your fear of what people will think, hold you back.
You are afraid of starting, but you are even more afraid of being found out. That people will criticize you, your work, your ideas, that you are not good enough, etc.
Remember it’s really very important to turn up every single day and get things done.
Eliminate useless daily tasks & activities which waste your time and focus on creating creative habits. Make it a ritual so you perform it every single day without thinking.
Another thing which holds you back is self-doubt like, I am not good enough and all.

Start acting like a champion. Be confident & bold with your ideas, thoughts, and answers. Keep doing this and your success will be inevitable. If success were easy to accomplish then conquest wouldn’t worth it.
Passion:
“Passion!! Being crazy about something, doing something which makes you happy, is very important. Find your passion.
Once you find your passion, you’ll have the reason to get up every single day and create what you actually love. Passion will keep you going when nothing will.

What are the 4 agreements of life? | The Four Agreements Summary
Print | Free Audiobook | Print(In)
Today I’ll show you The reality of you and your life. How you are not being yourself, how your decisions are not your, you are nothing but just a puppet who can talk. But don’t you worry, with the help of the four agreements you can set to be free. This book has helped many, it’s an ancient wisdom which teaches you how to be free and be happy. Excited? So here it is, the four agreements summary
The Toltec:
THOUSANDS OF YEARS AGO, THE TOLTEC WERE known as the men & women of knowledge. Toltec were artists, scientists who came together as masters & students preserve and share spiritual knowledge.
To prevent the misuse of Toltec knowledge, masters decided to live obscurity. Fortunately, Toltec knowledge passed within generations of masters. The author Don Miguel Ruiz is one of the masters who share the Toltec Knowledge through “The Four Agreements” book.
The Smokey Mirror:
It’s not the stars that create a light, but rather light that creates the stars. And we are all made of light.
Every matter acts as a mirror, the mirror reflects light and creates images of that light, the world of illusion, Dreams. All this acts up like smoke & don’t let us see, what we really are. The real us is pure love, pure light.
“Everyone is a mirror,” but others don’t recognize each other because of the smoke in-between us. That smoke is the Dream, and the mirror is you, the dreamer.”
Living is easy with eyes closed, misunderstanding all you see…. — John Lennon

Domestication and the Dream of the Planet:
You dream when you are sleeping, you dream when you are awake in fact you are dreaming right now. Dream of the planet is a collective dream of small, personal individual dreams. The dream of the planet includes all of society’s rules, its beliefs, its laws, its religions, etc.
The people before you taught you how to dream the way society dreams. The outside dream used Mom and Dad, the schools, and religion to teach you how to dream.
It was all there already, all that knowledge, all those rules, and concepts about how to behave in the world. You never had the opportunity to choose what to believe or what not to believe. You didn’t even choose our own name.
You just agreed or disagreed with whatever information passed from the dream of the planet via other humans and stored it as agreements. If you agree, you believe it and soon you have faith in it. That’s how children learn, they believe everything adult says.
You may have rebelled against those beliefs, but you were not strong enough to win the rebellion. The result is you surrender to the beliefs with your agreement. This is called Domestication.
You are domesticated the same way we domesticate a dog, with a system of punishment and rewards. You became afraid of being punished and also afraid of not receiving the reward.
Reward feels good, and You keep doing what others want you to do in order to get the reward. You become a copy of Mamma’s beliefs, Daddy’s beliefs, society’s beliefs, and religion’s beliefs. Domestication is so strong that at a certain point you became your own domesticator.
The belief system is like a Book of Law that rules your mind. You base all of your judgments according to the Book of Law. There are parts of us, the inner Judge who judge everything we do and don’t do, and the victim who always self-pity. And this is all based on a belief system that we never chose to believe.
You need a great deal of courage to challenge your own beliefs. Ninety-five percent of the beliefs you have stored in our minds are nothing but lies, and you suffer because you believe all these lies.
Just being yourself is the biggest fear you have. You have learned to live your life trying to satisfy other people’s demands. You punish yourself endlessly for not being what you believe you should be.
You have made thousands of agreements with others, but most important agreements are which you’ll make with yourself.
In these agreements you say, “This is what I am. This is what I believe. I can do certain things, and some things I cannot do. This is reality, that is fantasy; this is possible, that is impossible.”
Now you must be wondering what are the four agreements? So let’s move on to them.
The Four Agreements Infographic Summary
The Four Agreements Summary:
1st Agreement; Be Impeccable With Your Word:
I know it sounds very simple but it’s very powerful. Sometimes words are more powerful than weapons. Words are the most powerful tool you have.
Your dreams, beliefs, feelings all are expressed through words. But just like a two-edged sword, words can create a positive or negative impact.
Hitler manipulated the whole country with words, based on fear-generated beliefs and agreements. Your mind is like the fertile ground, you plant a seed, thought & it grows irrespective if it’s bad or good.
Words are like spells & you cast spells all the time with your opinions.
Sometimes people( Parents, siblings, friends, teachers) give opinions about you without thinking. You believe these opinions & live in fear over these opinions, like not being good at swimming, or sports, or writing. It doesn’t matter how good you are, you’ll believe you are not.
Self rejection is the biggest sin you commit.
Being Impeccable means taking responsibility for your actions, without judging or blaming yourself. It means to use your energy in the direction of truth and love for yourself.
Unfortunately, mostly you use the word to curse, to blame, to find guilt, to destroy. This misuse of spell/ words is black magic. Cause of this you and I create fear and doubts in each other and pull each other down.
Whenever you hear an opinion and believe it, you make an agreement, and it becomes part of your belief system.
The only thing that can break a spell is to make a new agreement based on truth. The truth is the most important part of being impeccable with your word. Only truth can set you free.
Gossiping is a new form of communication nowadays. it makes you feel better to see someone else feel as badly as you do(agree or not it’s true). It’s like a computer virus, every single time others gossip to you, they insert a computer virus into your mind, causing you to think a little less clearly every time. So stay away from such a gossip group.
You also talk to yourself constantly and often you say negative things. Remember one thing Your opinion or others opinion is nothing but just a point of view. It is not necessarily true. So don’t take it seriously.
How much you love yourself and how you feel about yourself are directly proportionate to the quality and integrity of your word.
This first agreement will change the kind of seeds your mind is fertile for. Tell yourself how wonderful you are, how great you are. Tell yourself how much you love yourself. Use the word to break all those teeny, tiny agreements that make you suffer.
2nd Agreement; Don’t Take Anything Personally:
During the domestication, you learn to take things personally.
Taking things personally is nothing but a sign of selfishness, Cause you think everything is about you. You assume that others know everything about you, your world, and you try to impose your world on their world.
Whatever people say about you, good or bad it’s just an opinion, point of view which came from the programming they received during domestication.
When you take things personally, then you feel offended, and your reaction is to defend your beliefs and create conflicts. You give your opinions to defend yourself & prove others wrong.
No matter what, Others are going to have their own opinion according to their belief system, so nothing they think about you is really about you, but it is about them.
Even the opinions you have about yourself are not necessarily true. Therefore don’t even take your own thoughts personally.
Your mind has the ability to think to speak to itself and listen. There are thousands of agreements, & beliefs stored in your mind. Some part of the mind has objections to certain thoughts and actions, and another part supports the actions of the opposing thoughts. It is up to you what you choose to believe.
By taking things personally you set yourself up to suffer for nothing. You have to trust yourself and choose to believe or not to believe what someone says to you.
When you really see other people as they are without taking it personally, you can never be hurt by what they say or do.
When you make it a strong habit not to take anything personally, you avoid many upsets in your life. Your anger, jealousy, and envy will disappear, and even your sadness will simply disappear if you don’t take things personally.
3rd Agreement; Don’t Make Assumptions:
Agree or not, You love to make assumptions about everything and that’s not the problem, the problem is you believe they are true.
You assume what others thinking, doing, etc then you misunderstood, you create chaos, take things personally, try to defend your assumptions & end up creating a whole big drama for nothing.
You only see what you wanna see & hear what you want to hear.
Literally, just cause you don’t understand something, you make up things in your mind which has nothing to do with reality. That’s why It is always better to ask questions than to make an assumption because assumptions set you up for suffering.
Example: if a cute girl smiles at a guy, the assumptions that guy can make are unlimited & it changes person to person.
If you are in a relationship, often you assume that your partner knows what you think & what you want. If they don’t do according to what you assumed then you feel disappointed & say, “You should have known”. Which is very toxic for any relationship.
Often when you go into a relationship with someone you like, you have to justify why you like that person. You don’t need to justify love; it is there or not there. Real love is accepting other people the way they are without trying to change them.
Making assumptions in relationships leads to a lot of fights, a lot of difficulties, a lot of misunderstandings with people you supposedly love.
It’s very interesting how the mind works. It wants answers & explanation for everything & there are millions of questions in your mind which need to be answered. The mind doesn’t care if the answer is true or not, that why you make assumptions.
You make all sorts of assumptions because you don’t have the courage to ask questions. You make assumptions about yourself, You overestimate or underestimate yourself because you haven’t taken the time to ask yourself questions and to answer them.
The day you stop making assumptions with your partner and eventually with everyone else in your life. Your way of communicating will change completely, and your relationships will no longer suffer from conflicts created by mistaken assumptions.
So how you avoid making assumptions? By knowing the truth. To know the truth have the courage to ask questions, keep the conversation clear.
Understanding the importance of these agreements is not enough. Information or an idea is merely the seed in your mind. What will really make the difference is, action.
4th Agreement; Always Do Your Best:
No matter what but always do your best, nothing more nothing less. But keep in mind your best will never be the same from one moment to another. Your best will depend on whether you are feeling wonderful and happy, or upset, angry, or jealous.
when you try too hard to do more than your best & don’t get expected results you feel disappointed, unsatisfied. While if you do less than your best, you judge yourself, feel guilty & regret it.
Don’t sacrifice your joy, your life by spending time doing more than your best. You are also supposed to live, be happy, enjoy.
You do your best because you want to do it, not because you have to do it, not because you are trying to please the inner Judge, and not because you are trying to please other people. If you or doing something just cause you have to, then you are not gonna give your best.
I am sure you have many great ideas in your mind, but you are not willing to take action. Actions are how we accept life & inactions are how we deny life. Without actions, you won’t get any results neither rewards.
Example: Forest Gump(movie), He was richly rewarded without expecting any reward at all. Taking action is being alive. It’s taking the risk to go out and express your dream. If you haven’t seen the movie, do yourself a favor and watch it.
Let go of the past and live in the present. You are born with the right to be happy. Say yes or no whatever you want to say, you have the right to be you and You can only be you when you do your best.
By doing your best, the habits of misusing your word, taking things personally, and making assumptions will become weaker and less frequent with time.
Action makes the difference, be human. Respect your body, enjoy your body, love your body, feed, clean, and heal your body.
If you stick to these agreements then soon you’ll be living a happier life. You just have to accept, adapt the four agreements in your life. But it won’t be easy to keep all four agreements, the path will be full of obstacles. So if you fail, do not judge. Stand up and make the agreement again. If you break an agreement, begin again tomorrow, and again the next day.
Conclusion:
You are living in a dream, you don’t know who you really are.
The life you living, the values you have, you didn’t choose anything. You didn’t even choose our own name.
Your words are powerful, use them carefully.
What other people think of you is just an opinion based on the belief system they received during domestication.
Even the opinions you have about yourself are not necessarily true.
By taking things personally you set yourself up to suffer for nothing.
When you really see other people as they are without taking it personally, you can never be hurt by what they say or do.
It is always better to ask questions than to make an assumption
