Create a musical diary of an entire year. On January 1st, start writing a piece of music, but only write a short section of it (maybe 16 bars) based on the events of that day and/or the emotions you felt that day. Every day, write another section of the music, each day basing it off of the events/emotions of that day (you should write at the end of each day, just before you go to bed). By the end of the year, you should have a rather long work that is a candid depiction of your day-to-day life through an entire year. This will also force you to write every day, even if you don’t feel motivated to do so.
