That’s what it cost for me to be born in 1967. A one-page hospital bill, for a vaginal birth with no complications, and somehow my mother was allowed to stay in the hospital for FOUR NIGHTS, at $30 a pop for a semi-private room. According to my mother this is the bill before submitting it to their insurance, so what they actually paid was even less than this. I assume there were other charges…

What did I do today?
I had the day off for the holiday, so I didn’t have work to distract myself from other events. I wanted to keep myself away from it to avoid unnecessary stewing about things I can’t do anything about right now.
