I think it's so tired and played out, the growing genre of tumblr posts that are like "yeah I don't have tiktok (hair twirling) (brag) (proud of myself)" like I need yall to understand it's just an app. and I know that we're all getting old. I'm turning 51 this month. but you SAID you wouldn't do this whole "disregard whatever the Young People are doing once you become an adult" thing and now you're totally 100% doing it. "it's toxic" so is tumblr and twitter! "there's censorship" just like tumblr and twitter! "I don't like this-and-this trend" you literally follow people you wanna follow and shape your own algorithm. and your tumblr reblogs are FULL OF TIKTOK REPOSTS. you love tiktok. they are just videos. having or not having an app is not a personality trait!!

I also was meh on What Moves the Dead, but T Kingfisher's other horror novels are very good. My fav is The Twisted Ones. The Only Good Indians by Stephen Graham Jones was also pretty freaky
oh good to know I'm not alone on that one LMAO, also noting the other recommendations!! maybe I'll try the twisted ones and give kingfisher another chance

fwiw I've read What Moves the Dead by T. Kingfisher already and it was good, but not super exciting
I like a lot of horror podcasts, but what about horror novels? does anypony have book recommendations for me that you really enjoyed / that were super scary
#i thought it was just the slightest bit boring most of the time bc it is just really obvious what's going on#there's some suspense but not a lot of Dread#like this is the Type Of Shit that I like and it was worth reading but I wouldn't re-read it#for horror. I don't need it to be overdone but I do like to have moments where I'm sitting alone at my desk and my jaw still drops#for nobody at all to see#like it was special to me because it was recommended by my favorite person and I liked the worldbuilding and the Vibe but I wanted to be#more scared than I was and I wanted to be surprised by something. or anything

Justin posted the 1956 house he and his wife bought in Jasper, Indiana. It is a complete time capsule. Absolutely NOTHING has been updated or touched.
Everything is still here- look at the appliances. All original. This is not like the classy expensive updated mid century homes we’ve seen before.
The furniture has to be the original pieces and sets the previous owners bought.
The wall hangings are aged.
This is an interesting piece, this bar.
Look at the bathroom- pink fixtures.
Those lamps!
The master bath has a yellow tub and fixtures.
A 2nd bdm. Even the bedding is vintage.
And, this bath has blue Fixtures. Wow, I would definitely keep them.
More cool lamps and original furniture in the knotty pine family room.
Wow, look at the built-ins in the office.
The lower floor.
The basement is cool- look at that floor! And, the TV. The bar is classic. I wonder if they were leaving any of this.
Off the rec room is a 2nd kitchen. A pink fridge!
And, there’s this room, too. Look at the stone wall.
