Cinderella (1950) - Attire Edition

ashes. I’ve seen some people do this so I’m going to give it a try:

With ship I don’t just mean an OTP ( with which I might be slightly selective && possibly want to write them from the start, not already together ), but friendship, rivalry, anything you can think of, as long as we can write threads with a bit more depth and get to know more about both our muses! ( All I ask is that we’re mutuals && that we’ve read our rules )

For those characters whose canon verse might be difficult to ship with Cinderella, I’ve more verses other than her canon, including a Hogwarts AU && a modern verse && I’m also more than happy to plot ships in more than one of them!

One of the reasons why Cinderella enjoyed ( in the rare occasions when she could ) strolling at the SEASIDE was that she felt, for a few precious moments, FREE. With n o  o n e to boss her around as she paced ALONE, she could forget about her life back home, where M a d a m  T r e m a i n e made sure to provide her with enormous amounts of housework — for what purpose exactly, she could only G U E S S. BUT it seemed she wasn’t entirely alone today, she realised, her steps coming to a halt, waves lapping at her uncovered feet. There was a RED-HAIRED GIRL behind the rocks.

Her first impulse was to run for help, believing her to be in DANGER. Yet the look on her face wasn’t one of distress. && a hint of something GREEN among white foam caught her eye             was that — but it couldn’t be ! a hand raised to cover her mouth, gaping in A M A Z E M E N T — a mermaid’s tail ?

Flattered by the STRANGERS kind words HER already ascending SMILE would only grow. Hands would raise ever so SLIGHTLY to cover her MOUTH as she fails to SUPPRESS a somewhat flustered giggle.

Rapunzel couldn’t help the smidgen of smugness that crossed her face at the sight of her perfect white cat. She was pleased that she had mastered this spell; simple, but another spell to add to her arsenal. Who knew when this would come in handy? And she had spent so long perfecting it, it would be disappointing if she hadn’t been able to do it. Her attention was then directed towards her friend, who was clearly struggling with it.

“Try more of a waving action,” she explained with a grin. “And, with your words - it’s hard to explain, but you have to tell your wand to turn it white without actually saying it.”

          Her friend’s smile gave Ella the little bit of encouragement she needed to try once more && not just give up ( you never get anything by quitting, do you ? ) Rolling up her sleeves, she grabbed her wand decisively && carefully poked at the owl, who awoke with a soft coo.

          ❛ Right ! So I have to concentrate on it. ❜ As if passing a message to the wand — or, even, as if whishing ! That, she was GOOD at. Imitating Rapunzel’s gesture, the girl waved her wand, tracing the same fluid movement she’d seen her perform, her brow furrowing ever so slightly as the owl watched her warily              only for the Halloween pumpkins sitting before her to turn a bright w h i t e.  Her mouth dropped in confussion — but after a second, she couldn’t help laughing. ❛ Well, at least that’s some progress ! ❜

Headcanon that Cinderella’s real name is Elaine, which is a French old form of Helen meaning “ shining, bright light. ”  It suits Cinderella, as she kept smiling && dreaming of a better future even in the worst days. Her dreams were her light to get through the loss of her father && her step mother abusing her. From Elaine came the short name Ella, and from that — Cinderella.

she smiles BRIGHTLY, pleased with how the queen remembers her name. and then, her grin widens, just a little bit. she is, indeed, familiar with chad and his ways, and sometimes, he simply does not WANT to be f o u n d. that doesn’t mean one should stop looking. “it’s audrey, yes. don’t worry about it—–I just wasn’t really expecting any royalties to just pass by. ———right, well, have you tried the tourney field? they should be at practice right now.”

❛ Perhaps I should — I don’t know WHY I hadn’t thought of that possibility myself. He’s always been FOND, to say the least, of tourneys. ❜ A little too much, in fact, she thinks, as the young princeling SHOULD ( in his parents’ view ) devote more time to his RESPONSIBILITIES as well as have FUN.
