Eight concerts, 42 performers, and works by 55 composers, all in the borough of Queens! The Secret Theatre is easily accessible via the 7 train and LIRR at Woodside. This is a major undertaking and cultural event, and we are proud to present contemporary music by living composers in my often underserved home borough.

A reconstruction of a Theresienstadt cabaret entertainment hits differently when there is a lawless fascist government actively disappearing people off the streets, deporting legal residents to hellish foreign prisons and even forcibly removing US citizens undergoing cancer treatment. This year’s run had a special urgency, a particularly personal investment.

I wish we hadn’t any inspiration for that.
