no attempt was made to halt his tentative  step forward, so he took another, bolder one, wrapping her in a pillowy embrace. through long, thin hair, fingertips massaged the base of her skull,  “ i got you. ”

like two powerful serpents guillo’s arms barreled ahead; jutting the heel of one palm to the shoulder blade while the other wrenched the god’s arm back faster than the crack of a whip. guttural sound was uttered when the pop was heardー and then a sense of satisfaction came over them, almost as if some instinctual urge  had been partially sated. they paid the sensation no mind; forcing the limb back into place without a moment’s hesitation

guillo had thought the creature before them was just like any other manner of creature one might stumble upon in a populated area; docile, sweet, and eager for attention and scraps. its plump, round body certainly seemed an indicator of the latterー and though guillo got little out of appeasing the local wildlife; they had yet to meet an animal that didn’t at least appreciate the attempt
