The beauty of Severus Snape is that he is not a perfect victim.

He bites, he lashes out, he defends himself against his tormentors as violently as he is hurt. He doesn't just sit there and 'take it' without retaliating, he doesn't bury his head into his pillow at night and cry.

But he is a victim nonetheless.

Just because he fights back doesn't mean that his suffering is any less valid than any other bullying victim. Just because he doesn't cower in fear of the mauraders doesn't mean that they were anything less than his abusers and bullies.

And the maurader fans love to lap up his resistance and call it "rivalry" so that James and Sirius are painted in a more positive light.

The truth stands that Severus Snape was a victim to their heinous actions.

The dynamic between Draco and Harry is nothing like the dynamic between mauraders and Severus.

Since I'm procrastinating my notes... Just wanna say 1 of the reasons I became a snape fan in the first place is bc certain ppl were being so insufferable (and straight up making up lies??? But that's another thing lah) that I started defending him with my life while not even liking him that much (like before this, the last time I consumed any form of hp media was when I was a kid and even then I had enough braincells to not dumb his character down to evil guy who only did all that bc he was in love with a woman) then I reread the books and now he's my precious wife who I love very much oh severus u mean so much to me the world has been so cruel to u why did I not see it before sniff sniff 宝贝让我疼你🤧🤧🤧

And yeah ik the "but he bullies kids" thing and tbh, as someone who has had many mean and abusive (?) (idk I was caned and made fun of almost everyday but that stuff was(is??) normal in my country) teachers esp during my primary schl days,,,, idgaf🧎, like wowww it's almost as if his life was hell and so he grew up bitter and angry.... Am I the only one who goes crazy for fluff during fics and goes especially insane while in front of other people?? Like im in the car rn as I'm writing this and I look like a lunatic smiling at my phone.
