Sorry for disappearing again, I was super busy moving to a new city! Anyway, because Rafayel’s new myth was absolutely heartbreaking (beautifully written and animated, but it still made me cry!), I decided to draw something a little fluffier this week, before potentially drawing something more serious featuring the motifs of the Lemurian Sea God myth next time.

Excluding the crucial fact that office jobs pay you an income….if staying home to raise children and do chores and bake bread was really so much easier and more joyful than working in an office on some objective level, why aren’t men doing it? Why aren’t they chomping at the bit to be ~leisurely house husbands~ to a working wife? Why aren’t they stepping up to depend solely on someone else’s income in exchange for round-the-clock domestic labor, if it’s really as blissful and their propaganda suggests? Curious.

Zayne - Love and Deepspace

Hi everyone, I’ve been insanely busy lately trying to move to another state and go back to school in a few months, but I finally got around to drawing a portrait of the lovely Dr. Zayne this week!

I really had a lot of fun working on this piece. When I first started playing LADS, it took me a while to warm up to Zayne, because I felt like our personalities are too similar, but the more I take the time to play his routes and read his lore, the more I appreciate his character and the unique ways in which he shows affection. These days, Zayne is easily one of my favorite characters in the game, and I honestly can’t wait to see how his role in the main story continues to be developed.

Ok, so, I’m starting to like the way these portraits look, and either I’m actually improving, or I’m too exhausted to notice the uncanny valley effect anymore. I might try and draw some of the other LI’s after this too, and keep practicing :)

Drawing Rafayel Again- Love and Deepspace

I made another attempt at drawing a semi-realistic portrait of Rafayel, since I wasn’t quite satisfied with the first one. And since I’m still very much in need of some practice, to say the least, this will probably not be my last attempt at this.

advice i think we should tell children is that when adults say stuff like ‘now that i’m an adult i get really excited about stuff like coffee tables and bathrooms and rugs etc’ they don’t mean ‘and now i don’t care about blorbo and squimbus from my childhood tv shows anymore’ bc your average adult still loves all the same pop culture stuff they always did; they just have a greater appreciation for the mundane as well. growing up just means you can enjoy life twice as much now. you can get really excited about a new stuffed animal AND about a new kitchen sponge. peace and love
