drew this ages ago and planned on posting it once i actually finished the rest of the titans, but like nearly a year later we're gonna just post it now and maybe one day i'll do the rest of them

[PL] Fanart Wzgardy autorstwa Pauliny Hendel, książki, która wywarła na mnie ostatnio duże wrażenie. Strasznie mi się podobała, wyczuwałam inspiracje moją ulubioną powieścią Pratchetta (Zbrojni), świetnie się czytało, pokochałam wszystkie postaci! Oraz obraziłam się na książkę na kilka dni... ale w pozytywny sposób? 🙃

Po tych kilku dniach pomysł na narysowanie ekipy strażników pojawił się sam. Szkic przeszedł kilka faz, bo chciałam umieścić wszystkich oraz kojarzące się z nimi przedmioty. Przewertowałam też strony w poszukiwaniu opisów postaci, by oddać je jak najdokładniej (moja wyobraźnia często wymyśla sobie wyglądy, nie bacząc na opisy 😃).

🌺 Czy podoba się wam moja wizja strażników? Rozpoznajecie kto jest kim?

[ENG] Fanart of "Wzgarda" by Paulina Hendel, a new Polish book that left a huge impression on me. I loved it very much, noticed the inspiration from my favourite Pratchett's book ("Men at Arms"); it was immersive and the characters, a group of city guards, were really cool. Oh, and the book left me sulking for a few days. (...but in a good way?) 🙃

After a couple days, the idea for the drawing of the characters just came to me. The sketch went through different phases, because I wanted to include everybody, as well as the items associated with them. I also flipped through the book in search of the characters' descriptions, to draw them accurately (since my imagination often works on its own, and creates images separate from the book descriptions... 😃 )

Here's one of the shots that I animated on Kpop :D

It showcases one of my favourite new workflows that we used on the movie, which is a separate mouth rig that we could bring in to place overtop of the character's faces to create that big chibi look. It used secret technical wizardry to allow it to have depth without crashing into the face in 3D space. We could use it to break the silhouette of the face too. Made it a lot easier to animate lip sync on a mouth full of shrimp chips.
