The boardwalk was practically glowing with neon and the buzz of late-night energy, but even that didn’t compare to the absolute mayhem that was happening back in the Lost Boys’ lair.

You, their sugar-addicted chaos goblin of a Little, had managed to down an entire cotton candy, two sodas, and a suspiciously large slice of funnel cake in under twenty minutes.

David had warned them. “Don’t give him another root beer, or he’s gonna start climbing walls like a feral squirrel.”

Too late.

You were now wearing Marko’s vest like a cape, standing on the arm of the broken old couch, declaring, “I AM THE GOD OF CAFFEINE!” before dramatically jumping off and rolling onto the cushions below.

“Why did we let him have soda again?” Michael asked from where he was standing, arms crossed but clearly amused.

“Because he looked at me with the eyes, man!” Paul defended. “You try saying no to that face.”

“I’m gonna explode into confetti!” you yelled from the floor, thrashing your legs like you were auditioning for a mosh pit.

Dwayne tried to be the voice of reason. “He needs to burn the energy out somehow. Otherwise he’s gonna be up ‘til sunrise singing the SpongeBob theme again.”

David gave a dramatic sigh, cracked his neck, and said, “Operation Tickle Trap it is.”

You froze.

“Wait. Wait, waitwaitwait—no tickles!”

Marko smirked, already pouncing onto the cushions beside you. “Too late, baby bat!”

You shrieked as the chaos descended: a pile of leather jackets and wild laughter as each Lost Boy took a position. Marko got your sides, Paul went for your knees, Dwayne held your arms gently while Michael dug his fingers into your tummy, and David—the traitor—got behind your neck and ears.

“NOHOHOHO! I’M TOO STRONG FOR THIS!” you howled, kicking and twisting as giggles erupted uncontrollably.

“You’re too caffeinated for this,” Michael laughed. “Time to get the sugar goblin to crash.”

“NEVER!” you squealed, eyes wide, tears of laughter leaking out.

Paul grinned like a maniac. “This is what you get for biting me like a gremlin when I said ‘bedtime.’”

David leaned in close, voice low and smug, “You messed with the wrong vampires, sugar-high.”

Eventually, the wild flailing slowed to soft, breathy giggles. Your limbs went limp as the exhaustion caught up with you.

Dwayne gently cradled you, brushing your hair from your face. “There we go… chaos contained.”

You mumbled something about glitter explosions before snuggling into his chest.

Michael pulled a blanket over you and kissed your head. “Goodnight, little monster.”

“Night-night, sugar bat,” Marko whispered.

You were asleep in under a minute—still smiling, arms curled around Paul’s arm like it was a stuffed animal.

And just like that, the Lost Boys had won the war of sugar and caffeine. At least until tomorrow night.

-> Dealing with threats and manipulation. This is not normal! If you set a boundary or go offline and have to manage threats, whether this be about something extreme like suicide or relapsing, or more mild like “if you go away then I guess I just won’t reply either.” This is unhealthy and a red flag.

-> Indirect vents to guilt trip you. If you find yourself seeing them posting things to social media or adjusting their statuses to things such as “I don’t think they even care about me..” or threats of suicide/relapses, this is a guilt trip and not a healthy form of communication.

-> Excessive attachment. Being unable to leave your phone for an hour or two without returning to a span of messages depending you reply is unhealthy! To be clear, messaging to say they miss you and spamming cute things isn’t unhealthy. But if you genuinely get worried not being able to reply to them for an hour or so, this isn’t healthy.

-> Using you as a therapist. If all your conversations are just them venting, this is a very big red flag! If you’re never asked about yourself, and all the conversations are revolving about their feelings and problems, this is not a healthy, caring dynamic to have.

-> Weaponizing regression. Regressing to manipulate you not into leaving them, or to manipulate you out of feeling comfortable setting a boundary is very much still toxic. If everytime you try to set boundaries or have serious conversations they’re regressing to get out of it, or regressing to force you to caretake when you needed a break, this is unhealthy!

-> Disrespect of boundaries. Needing a break from caregiving, setting limits on what you’re comfortable with, etc, is okay! You deserve to feel safe and comfortable. If you’re receiving anger or guilt trips as a response to this, that’s unhealthy behavior.

Caregivers- you deserve a safe relationship with your little! People may try and take advantage of your kindness and care- for this reason, stay safe and stay aware. Your health matters too. ♡︎

Being little isn’t always easy! It brings out the softest part of you. Whether you share that with a Carer or you have that time alone, it can be hard to feel so teeny tiny in such a big and scary world.
