For my final project, I have chosen to develop a professional website and portfolio that showcases my skills and expertise as a freelance photographer. This platform will serve as both a storytelling tool and an online portfolio, allowing me to present my work in a visually compelling way. My goal is to create content that not only highlights my photography, but also establishes a strong, cohesive brand identity that resonates with my audience.
Initially, I considered creating a celebrity documentary, but I've decided to incorporate this idea into my website by featuring images of celebrities to showcase my work in that genre. In doing so, the website will not only serve as a space for creative expression, but also offer a convenient way for potential clients to view my portfolio and get in touch with me. Through this project, I aim to create a platform that effectively communicates my capabilities as a successful freelance photographer and builds a connection with my audience.
The use of tools, techniques, and resources in the creation process of developing a professional website and portfolio as a freelance photographer, breaks down into several key components.
For my final project, I used the Wix platform, which is widely recognized for its user-friendly design interface and customizable templates, making it an ideal choice for creating photography portfolios. In addition to a reliable website platform, having high-quality camera equipment and a selection of lenses is crucial for capturing the images featured on my site. I use Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop for image editing, as these tools are essential for enhancing image quality, adjusting colors, and maintaining a consistent style throughout my portfolio.
During the creation process, I chose to prioritize a minimalist design, which is essential for photography websites as it allows the images to take center stage. This approach involves using clean layouts, straightforward navigation, and high-quality visuals.
I really appreciated the feedback from my peers—it gave me a lot more confidence in my website. One photographer suggested changing up some of the wording to make it feel a bit more professional instead of so casual. I took her advice and adjusted a few phrases to sound more professional, but I made sure to keep the personal touch that makes it feel more like me.
I showcased examples of my photography and highlighted my niche, using white and minimal design elements to create a clean, simple look that keeps the focus on the information and my images.
I took another peer's advice and experimented with various typography layouts to further elevate my website and ensure the design matched the quality and style of my photographs. While I didn’t find an alternative that aligned with my vision, I’m confident that the current layout provides a clean and professional presentation. It’s also highly accessible, making it easy for both clients and potential clients to navigate.
This project represents several weeks of hard work because, as any photographer knows, creating and presenting a photography website is no quick or easy task. It requires a great deal of patience, constructive feedback, and dedication.
I took thoughtful steps to refine my website by incorporating feedback, adjusting my design elements, and experimenting with typography to better match the style and quality of my photography. This shows a proactive approach to enhancing both the functionality and aesthetic of my website. Additionally, my ability to balance professional advice with my personal touch reflects creative problem-solving, as I aimed to meet the needs of potential clients while staying true to my own brand and vision. The effort I put into making the site accessible and user-friendly demonstrates a clear focus on improving the client experience, which is an essential aspect of problem-solving in web design.
My final project is not only highly accessible but also reflects my dedication to capturing authentic and creative moments. It successfully combines the dynamic energy of live events with the understated elegance of candid portraits, creating a cohesive and compelling showcase of my work.

Final Project (Draft 3)
Design and execute a self-directed final project to be presented on a fully online platform. This project will develop over several weeks, culminating in a refined internet base piece that demonstrates both technical proficiency and conceptual depth.
Task:
Post a short explanation of overall idea.
Post evidence of your work in progress
Explain steps you will take to further develop your concepts for next week.
Post link to final project presentation location to test link is fully accessible.
Then, respond to 3 classmate's (minimum) post providing feedback peer review on what they have done right and what they can do to improve their work. Review 3 fellow classmates work and provide in depth feedback by commenting on the weaknesses of their work and offer each solution to help them improve their project. Be sure to be as generous as you can to your fellow classmates so they can get the best grade possible. Pay special attention to the functionality the link to their projects as well as how the online presentation visually and conceptually improves the work.

My goal is still to develop a professional website and portfolio that showcases my skills and qualities as a successful freelance photographer. I aim to create visually captivating content that tells the stories behind my photos while crafting a brand identity that resonates with my audience.

As you can see on the first picture to the left is the "home" category as well as the "about" category now. For my first draft, I had the "about" category hidden just because I was still working on it, but since this is the second draft, I wanted to show you all what I have been working on within my website. While making it my final and also my official website that will be launching soon, I somewhat wanted to incorporate myself within my website and show my clients as well you guys, some things about me as well as events I've been to as shown below.

I didn't want to put or show too much about this page, just because I kind of still want to fix it and make is special as to what the event is, as well as when it was, etc., and I can't wait to show you guys what other events I've been to as a freelance photographer and where this job has taken me. Since this is still my second draft, I have a lot more to improve and would want to make it more original and more ME, but other than that, I'm really happy as to where it's going and can't wait to see what the final outcome will be.

Final Project (Draft 1)
Design and execute a self-directed final project to be presented on a fully online platform. This project will develop over several weeks, culminating in a refined internet base piece that demonstrates both technical proficiency and conceptual depth.
Task:
Post a refine outline for your Final Project (only one idea)
Post evidence of your work in progress
Explain steps you will take to further develop your concepts for next week.
Submit your file to this dropbox by the deadline.
Then, respond to 3 classmate's (minimum) post providing feedback peer review on what they have done right and what they can do to improve their work.
The overall design I decided to do for the final project of this class is showcasing my photography skills on a a beautifully designed online website that will and can be used as my storytelling platform and portfolio. This website can also be used for my clients to get a hold of me and my work. I somewhat decided to collaborate both my first idea and second idea into one because my second idea was to do a celebrity documentary, but instead, I might just use my website to upload images of celebrities to showcase my work.
Since this is still my draft, I decided to use an actual website for my project instead of using Lightroom or Photoshop. My goal is still to create a professional online website and portfolio that highlights my skills and characteristics as a successful freelance photographer, to create a visually appealing content that tells the stories behind my photos, and create a visually appealing personality for my brand that fits my audience.

Shown above is a preview of my website and portfolio. It's not officially launched yet, because it is still in progress, which is also why I have not added a link to it. As you can see on the left, there are still 3 categories not in menu. I have not added those yet, since I am still working on them and this is still one of the drafts.
On the bottom of the website, I added an inquiry block where my clients can also reach out to me and inquire about any sessions they'd want or need. Shown below, is an example of how I plan on doing it.

Shown above is my website shown on a phone version.

Internet Culture Art Assignment (Final)
Review the peer feedback you received on your Internet Culture Art Assignment (Draft). Keeping the feedback in mind, finalize and submit your Internet Culture Art Assignment (Final)to this dropbox by the due date.
Post final work for Internet Culture Art Assignment (Final)
For each artwork, explain your goals, describe the techniques and tools you used (e.g., Photoshop, apps, video, still images, programs), and evaluate what additional steps you could take if allotted more time to further develop your concepts.
Then, respond to 3 classmate's (minimum) post providing feedback peer review on what they have done right and what they can do to improve their work.
For the Internet Culture Art Assignment final, I decided to somewhat switch it up and do something more of what I've recently been doing, going through, and feeling. I found these images on google and decided to use photoshop and create an image representing my feelings. I've been going through so much these past couple of weeks and I decided to do this project relating to my feelings as well. Not going to lie, I actually took my time with these and took the professor's advice and feedback into consideration.
For the second image, I had to redo the whole thing because for some reason, Photoshop did not save the project, and I had to start it again. I decided to switch it up and change the letters in the middle of the image like my professor advised and do "matcha" instead of the work "bruh". I feel like in the draft I just put that word because in all honesty I didn't find or think of anything else and I just had to submit it, but for this second assignment I decided to use the word "matcha" because it's something I drink basically every day and having a cup with matcha on the top left of the image just felt right and more "me".
Not going to lie, for this last assignment I wanted to do something happier and think of something else, other than what I am going through right now and decided to think of my birthday coming up. I loved the idea of the hand just coming out of the circle with a cake in the hand and confetti everywhere. I got these pictures off google as well, but I feel like now I have a better understanding of how to use Photoshop and decided to put balloons on both sides of the image with the numbers 23 on the right side and "happy birthday" on the top left. This picture is so "me" as well and I love it because it's so pink and cute and perfect. I know I took my time on this assignment, and I am so proud of myself and what I did. I could have maybe added something else, but I love it and wouldn't change anything.

Create your own Internet Art 3 (minimum) . Note: video/audio works should be no longer than 3 minutes.
For each artwork, explain your intended goals, describe the techniques and tools you used(e.g., Photoshop, apps, video, still images, programs), and evaluate what additional steps you will take to further develop your concepts and finish your work for next week.
Then, respond to 3 classmate's (minimum) post providing feedback peer review on what they have done right and what they can do to improve their work.

To be honest, I didn't really know or have any idea of what to do for this project, but I am glad this assignment is a draft, because I feel like maybe I could have done a little better with these. The whole idea of this vibe of project I wanted to do is a computer type thing. Since I am a photographer, I decided to do a little bit of my workspace, but add some type of environment for this project and do it Internet Art wise. If you can see into details, I added a screenshot of my website, since I am a freelance photographer and have a website of my own. My cameras on the side of my workspace, and negatives on the table. I found all these images on google and added them all up on Photoshop to create this final image. What I would do to further this artwork of mine, is maybe somehow see if I can add an effect to it and make it as a gif so the image itself can have something that has to do with movement.
210921222234-7-9th-gen-ipad-review-underscored.tifDownload 210921222234-7-9th-gen-ipad-review-underscored.tif
I think for this second one I decided to do something different and include an iPad to it since I also sometimes work with my iPad when it comes to specific details on images since I am a photographer. I love how I added the notepad on the right side of the image and how I also added the rainbow snapchat effect on the top left, but added a cool filter to it, to make it somehow camouflage with the background itself. I added the background of the iPad with different screens because I feel as if when I work with it, I have so many apps open and I am basically doing so many things at once. I also used google to find the images I wanted to create on this artwork and added them all on Photoshop. I am actually so proud of myself because this is the first time that I actually took my time and created these images from scratch with some help from google images. If I had more time and for my final, I can definitely think outside the box and maybe add a cool effect to this artwork or even make it move somehow.
f974c8dvsbj71.tifDownload f974c8dvsbj71.tif
For the last and final image, in all honesty, this was my second artwork that I did and I'm actually proud of it. It could have done a little more of work and I could have added a couple of more aesthetics, but I feel like I was all out of ideas and wanted to keep it simple. I added a game as the background of the computer and added some errors to give it a little touch. I also added a PC to the artwork because I feel like that would just make the image perfect, as well as a camera on the right side of the image. Now that I see it, it is more on the simpler side, and maybe I could have added a couple of more things, but I felt as though the image was already full because of the computer. I did this artwork also on Photoshop and used google images as well. I could have taken this image a little further and probably could have used Illustrator and other apps from Creative Cloud, but that would mean that I have to do some more digging and create something that I haven't before. Maybe also used a little bit of cool effects and bring the image/artwork out a little bit more. Other than that, I now know for next time that this project/assignment is definitely time consuming and not easy to do under pressure.

For my artwork, I decided to reinterpret Claude Monet's artwork "Water Lillies" made in 1916-1919. The addition of contemporary or unique features (the duck, butterflies, turtle, and people in the canoe) changes the original work. This can be considered a fresh piece of original art rather than an imitation because of the substantial changes made to the themes and visual components. The adjustments add fresh context and narrative while still honoring the core of Monet's work. Instead of changing or mocking Monet's approach, the new additions make a creative and captivating addition to his calm garden scenes.
The addition of people to the canoe transforms the image from one of peace and nature in Monet's original painting to one of human involvement with the natural world. The figures tell a tale or capture a moment in the garden by bringing a vibrant human presence into an otherwise natural setting.
The duck, turtle, and butterflies might give new levels of meaning or reflect contemporary environmental issues. The addition of wildlife may allude to current concerns about conservation and coexistence, giving Monet's original serene scene more nuance.
Monet's delicate, impressionistic depictions of color and light are well-known. The artwork combines ancient and modern graphic components with precise details such as people, animals, and a canoe, which gives it a different resonance with a modern audience. By providing a new perspective, this re-contextualization invites spectators to interact with the garden in a different way and maybe reflect on its tranquility in light of contemporary society.

This piece of art aims to bridge the gap between historical painting and modern visual storytelling by fusing the classic elegance of Claude Monet's garden scenes with a contemporary sensibility. The artwork aims to generate a sense of harmony between human presence and the natural world with the addition of features such as the duck, butterflies on the lily pads, people in the boat, and a turtle in the water. In the calm of Monet's garden, it also presents fresh storylines, allowing the audience to picture a serene exchange with the natural world.
Photoshop is the program I used to make this piece of appropriation art. I searched Google for the elements I wanted to include in the painting and then used Photoshop to add them in, eliminating some of the images' backgrounds in the process.
Had I had more time for this assignment, I might have been able to add more details to the painting and make it more visually appealing while still adhering to the theme and colors of the image.

Glitch/Datamoshing/Distortion Art Assignment
For this assignment, you will create your own artworks using aesthetic and technical fundamentals of Glitch and or Datamoshing and or Distortion art.
Create Glitch/Datamoshing/Distortion artworks 3 (minimum) .
Review the Resources below.
For each artwork, explain your intended goals, describe the techniques and tools you used (e.g., Photoshop, apps, video, still images, programs), and evaluate what additional steps you would take to further develop your concepts if you had more time. Note: video/audio works should be no longer than 3 minutes.
Then, respond to 3 classmate's (minimum) post providing feedback peer review on what they have done right and what they can do to improve their work.

I took this image at a horizontal frame on my Canon A1 film camera. Developed, scanned and sent over to my phone to do this glitch art. In all honesty, I downloaded an app on my phone and was able to do this. For me, the glitch wasn't as hard for me, since it is something I've done and encountered with before. If I would've had more time to do this assignment, I would have wanted to actually maybe watch YouTube videos and sit down, relaxed, doing this assignment with more time.

This second photograph, is at New Orleans, back in August. This image shows datamoshing used in an app on my phone as well. I honestly wanted the image to look exactly as shown above and I'm glad I was able to get it done. If I would've had more time, I maybe could have seen YouTube videos as well as continued to see how to do this image more datamosh.

The third image pictured above, is taken at Hollywood Studios, Orlando, FL. I took this image last weekend and I actually found it pretty cool because I KNOW how to do the whole distortion image on Lightroom. I was able to import the photo, and in the copping option, there is a geometry section, in which I was able to distort it the way I wanted to. If I would've had more time, I maybe could have played with the image a little more and distorted it more as to how I wanted it to be.

Dries Depoorter project Tinder In
Belgian artist Dries Depoorter is well-known for his digital art pieces, which focus on examining the relationships between technological advances, confidentiality, and monitoring. His works frequently make comments on current topics pertaining to privacy, internet conduct, and the ways that technology affects our lives through the usage of digital tools, algorithms, and data. Depoorter often engages audiences with significant social and ethical issues through humor and critical observation.
His work, which frequently entails developing installations, interactive experiences, and projects that integrate social media, surveillance, and data collection, is a reflection of his background in design and digital art.
He is most well-known for utilizing real-time data and algorithms to produce his artwork. Examples of this include incorporating data from social media, surveillance systems, and publically available APIs. This frequently brings to light the unseen workings of digital platforms and raises concerns about digital manipulation, monitoring, and moral data use.
Depoorter encourages us to consider the moral quandaries of the digital age by means of his thought-provoking creations.

Tinder In
The provocative art piece Tinder In by Dries Depoorter examines the relationship between internet usage, confidentiality, and online dating. The 2020 project highlights the possible risks and moral dilemmas related to data collecting in the digital age by using real-time data scraping from Tinder's API to examine user information and behavior.
Through the use of publicly available data from Tinder profiles, Depoorter's initiative generates a real-time "feed" that highlights particular trends and behaviors.
It involves displaying matches in real time as well as user data, including setting, images, passions, and the way individuals display themself on the site.
The study questions how businesses such as Tinder gather and utilize user data, frequently without the users' complete knowledge or consent.
Depoorter emphasizes how simple it is to misuse information that appears private but is available on platforms meant for large-scale interactions by making this data publicly available.
Although Depoorter demonstrates how information provided on Tinder and other similar platforms can be readily obtained and manipulated, Tinder still presents itself as a place for deep connections.
Dries Depoorter poses significant queries on the ethics of data-driven interactions in the digital sphere and the monetization of personal data through Tinder In. It's a powerful statement about how privacy and connectivity conflict in today's internet environments.

Artist Review 3
Read and analyze the article AI “Completes” Keith Haring’s Unfinished Painting and Controversy EruptsLinks to an external site.
Respond to the following questions:
Evaluate the appropriateness of using AI in this context. Justify your reasoning.
Analyze how this use of AI might alter the experience Keith Haring originally intended for his artwork. Explain your perspective.
Identify and discuss key considerations when working with AI, such as copyright issues, transparency in the use of these tools, and the importance of clearly labeling AI-created work.
Evaluate the implications and express your feelings about the use of AI in creating artwork. Consider how AI influences creativity, originality, and the role of the artist.
The appropriateness of using AI in this context raises major complex issues. AI offers an opportunity to dig deeper into Haring's topics and style, possibly bringing his art to a larger audience. However, there's a chance that it could reduce the realness and spiritual profundity that Haring infused into his works. Haring's emphasis on human rights and self-expression makes it unlikely that using AI will properly respect his initial intentions. AI overall can be a tool for creative inquiry, but its use in this setting has to be respectful of Haring's legacy.
The use of AI alters the experience Keith Haring originally intended for his artwork may differ greatly from what he had in mind. In addition to having a powerful visual impact, Haring's artwork was richly detailed with both his own narrative and social criticism. AI has the ability to remove cultural and emotive tact, leaving the finished product essentially limited to artistic imitation. The completed work may not have the real psychological impact that observers associate with Haring's body of work, which would alter the audience's relationship to the performance.
When it comes to copyright issues, working with AI, questions and concerns come up from this situation. Being open and honest about the part AI plays in the creative process is essential. If a work is AI generated, audiences should be aware of it because it will impact how they interpret and value it. Art created by artificial intelligence must be properly labeled in order to preserve the confidence of the art community. Being this open makes it easier to distinguish between the creative output of machines and that of humans, facilitating thoughtful conversations about originality and worth.
Honestly, using AI has a significant impact on creativity, originality, and the contribution of the artist. Artificial intelligence questions conventional views of creative ownership while simultaneously facilitating novel techniques and inspiring fresh ideas. When it comes to creativity and originality, while AI is capable of producing art that emulates certain styles, it frequently lacks the mental complexity and true creativity that define human creation. The creativity of AI-generated products is called into doubt because the interaction between humans is unique. As for the role of the artist, The job of the artist can change from that of a creator to that of an administrator or contributor as AI becomes more widely used. In this case, the artist will work with artificial intelligence rather than just creating art. New creative expression avenues might result from this, but there's also a chance that humanity will be overlooked. In the end, artificial intelligence has great potential to push beyond the limits of art, but it must be used responsibly. Constant conversations concerning the nature of imagination, the value of genuine expression, and the legacy of creators such as Keith Haring are required due to the interaction between digital and conventional artwork.

Henner is well-known for his work that frequently explores themes of monitoring, digital culture, and the intersection between the real and the virtual. This series of Henner's images is non-traditional in that it does not involve actual fieldwork or personal interaction with the environment around him. Instead, they are created through the internet, emphasizing ways in which data and technology affect how we see the world. This strategy highlights the way that landscape photography is moving from everyday life to online environments.
Contemporary photographer Mishka Henner was born in Manchester, England, in 1976. Mishka frequently generates and manipulates his imagery using digital tools and online platforms. He is known for integrating technological advances and internet platforms in his photographs. His art examines topics of technology, monitoring, and visual culture. In several of his pieces, he sources photographs from online collections such as social media, Google Earth, and other sources, turning them into controversial artwork that questions how we interact with and interpret our surroundings. Henner's creative method questions conventional photography through the use of technology and frequently examines how we view and engage with our surroundings.
The objective of Mishka Henner's Dutch Landscapes series is to investigate the relationship between understanding, technology, and environment. Henner challenges how digital tools affect our perception of physical landscapes by taking pictures of the Dutch countryside with Google Earth. The series offers a reflection on how technology controls our view of the world by emphasizing the contrast between the impersonal nature of these digital photographs and the accuracy of technological depiction.

Rebecca Mock
Short bio:
Animator and illustrator Rebecca Mock is known for her unique, expressive style, which mixes small characteristics with an overwhelming feeling of her state of mind. Her art pieces often feature vivid, intense hues and an important story element that transport her audience to magical dimensions. Mock has collaborated on plenty of displays, including as animated cartoons, book covers, and administrative graphics. Within the art and design worlds, she has gained attention and admiration for her creativity and flexibility.
Image I chose:
Why I picked it:
I chose this GIF from Rebecca's Mock because I felt it was quite relevant and personal to me. Although I don't usually enjoy reading, especially not books, I made a decision to read some this summer and found this GIF to be extremely relatable. Particularly how this GIF's colors are incredibly vivid and how they make me feel at ease, warm, and most importantly, relaxed.
Brandon Tauszik
Short bio:
Photographer and videographer Brandon Tauszik is well known for his perceptive views and powerful visual storytelling. His photography portrays real and meaningful moments that relate to subjects of cultural background, identity, and community. Tauszik's work has been varied in subject matter and media, showing his range and excellent attention to detail. He has become well-known for his ability to provoke strong tales and strong emotions through his photography and cinema.
Image I chose:
Why I picked it:
I chose to use this particular GIF out of all of Brandon Tauszik's "Barbershop" GIF series, since it was the one that really drew my attention. The photographer's technique of taking pictures that gives the impression that the audience is a part of the image itself. Since I'm a photographer, the images almost make me feel like I'm there. He certainly performed a fantastic job catching this moment while developing a series that only features a barbershop as the backdrop.
Similarities:
GIFs are used by both artists to create visually appealing and interesting content. They take advantage of the format's animation and repeating abilities to lure in and engage viewers.
Their GIFs usually employ animation or quiet motion to tell a story or introduce a topic. Their work becomes more immersive as a result of the variable layer that is introduced.
Both artists look for novel ways to communicate their concepts with the GIF format.
Differences:
Rebecca Mock frequently creates GIFs with elaborate, painterly-style images. She gives depth and movement to her complicated, dramatic compositions by using the format to its max. Mock's rich, textured artwork is enhanced with subtle, repetitive motions, which are the center of her GIFs.
While Brandon Tauszik uses material from his film or taking photos to create more realistic GIFs. They often feature real-life events, including candid conversations and interactions of his environment, giving the animated format a documentary-style impression.

I'm not sure why the GIF shows so blurry on my end, but this GIF is made from 24 images I took from a recent birthday session, since I am freelance photographer. I was absolutely OBSESSED with making these type of GIF's last year, but had forgotten how to do them until now since I haven't done them in forever. I also forgot how much I loved them and how beautiful they are when images become one. I did this type of GIF on photoshop and have not used any of the apps shown above. If I had more time, I would've maybe done this GIF a little longer, although it has 24 images, I maybe could've done either 30 images or done the speed a little faster.

This next GIF is a special one since it is the first 15's photo session I did. The quinceañera decided to do her 15's photos in a park and beach, in which these are the beach images from that day. There are 25 images in one GIF and it was made just as the GIF above. I again did these through Photoshop and can definitely help any of you out if you want to know how to do GIF's through photoshop. I found this process to be so easy and fast for me. What maybe I could've changed for next time, would be editing the image itself a little more before saving all 25 of them and doing the whole GIF process.
