AR & VR

First off, one the scale from 1-10 I believe that this technology is would be at a 7. I believe that it would be placed at a 7 is because it has become the the “thing” nowadays. There is a lot of games and activities that are turning into VR. In 10 years this form of technology will be above the scale passed 10. Since it is starting now, it will be more improved each year. A lot of the world is going to be controlled by the technology. Out of the issues identified, I would have to say I’m in the middle I’m not more excited over concerned or vice versa. The excitement would be to see where it is going take us as a community. The concern that I would have would be how much control it will have overall in our community. And if it will ruin us as a whole. I’m not too positive what I would add to the list at the moment that would be something I would have to sit and think about. My reaction to the live VR, I thought it was pretty shocking, but overall very awesome. In a business side of perspective I believe that VR s a very intelligent way to do business in some cases. It was interesting to see that they could do all the things they were able to do as if they were actually in reality over virtual. I think this was so controversial because of what they do and where they could go instantly over VR. I think the more that is done the more people are going to make it a conterversal issue. #mccnm336spg18

Civic Engagement

I feel that we shouldn’t be too concerned at the moment of how much power social media has tying into political views. I think that no matter what action is taken people are going to reveal what they want and they are gonna keep whatever they want private, private to the best ability that they can. But there will be those people who do reveal that kind of information that isn’t supposed to be released. Like it was said the article, “How Social Media is Running Politics,” it is turning out to be more encompassing and controlling, more totalizing, than earlier media ever was.” Which is absolutely correct, the media is basically taking over more than just political outlooks.

Section 230 is important to SNS platforms for the main reason of being able to get it out there to try and end sex trafficking. Although Section 230 was never intended to provide legal protection to websites it is a no brainer that there should most definitely be a law against it. By listening to the podcast, it was know that it was the dark side of the web. The Congress wanted to protect the children who were on “backpage” being sold online. It was known that the internet shouldn’t be held for crimes. I feel like what will be at stake if this law falls through would be the children or young people who are being sold on thses pages and there may be worse that is happening if this law falls through. Some laws don’t have the ability to filter and what exists isn’t good enough as it was said in the podcast.

The oversharer

I was texting my best friend throughout the day and then decided to become an “oversharer” she was confused on why I was sending off topic messages right after another. Although you can’t tell a reaction through text message I know she was weirded out and confused. Later she then just stopped replying so I initionally had to tell her what I was doing and why. #mccnm336spg18

Laptop Altruism

The first participant that I asked to use their laptop they were kind of weirded out but let me use it for a little time period. The second participate was rude and I received a weird look from them. I was told “no I also have work to do” there’s a bunch of computers in the LARC with an attitude. You get the good and the bad when you are doing an experiment. #MCCNM336spg18
