Deaderpool’s Discord Ban Appeals (updated)

Banned from Deaderpool’s Discord? Here's what you need to know! Deaderpool is the Creator of MCCC, and I believe that is a large enough project for him to maintain. I’ve administered his Discord server since its beginning, almost seven years ago.

Deaderpool is not a server Admin, and he has NOTHING to do with bans, or appeals. The Support Team handles all of that, ON DISCORD. You’re wasting your time, and his, and ours, if you’re trying to get around me and the team by contacting him (or us) on other platforms such as Patreon, Tumblr, Twitter, etc.

The only place to find support for MC Command Center is on Discord.

When you join Deaderpool’s Discord, we advise, and expect, you to read our #server-info channel as part of your “Verify for Support” process, which is outlined in the server’s START HERE! section. We have this membership requirement included in SEVERAL of the first pages/areas you see, even before you join the server properly.

We even ask you in most of our announcement posts to please review #server-info, BEFORE you approach us in support. We can easily tell who has not done so, by the nature of the questions you ask, and the files you drop, among other things.

That we will ban players for either leaving the server to remove certain roles or for having certain types of NSFW mods is CLEARLY documented, in #server-info. It is YOUR responsibility to know what mods and custom content you have in your game, and it is up to you to not show us anything that we tell you we can ban you for having… because I assure you, we will do it, to ensure our team's safety and well-being.

Other ban reasons include: Being rude or impatient with our volunteer support staff Not listening to or following our directions Trolling …and so on.

Ban appeals are handled ON DISCORD ONLY, so we can gather the proper information from you, related to the account(s) you are asking us to unban.

We’re doing you a favor by spending the time it takes to interpret your errors for you. Treating us badly is not a good idea. We’re not going to allow you to remain on the server if you can’t be reasonable and treat us with respect… and this includes being willing to read and follow our rules.

If you are not banned, expecting individual support via DM is unreasonable, on a server hosting over 85,000+ people. Server Info is the equivalent of a website’s FAQ section, it is there to bring you up to speed quickly on several major points of interest and information you will need, to ensure everyone has the best possible experience when you visit us for support, or for any other objective.

Deaderpool's Discord is On a Break

The depth of bad behavior from Simmers we've witnessed on this patch has made me ashamed of a LARGE portion of our community. 

Harrassing Lumpinou was just the beginning. 

Refusing to lift a finger to help yourselves, refusing to read ANYTHING we gave you to prepare for the patch either ahead of time, or after it landed, just made things worse. 

Burying our support channels in repeat demands for help from our volunteer staff without testing your patched game with no mods or custom content in was just one more nail in the coffin. 

But the thing that takes the cake, by far, was the abuse some of you heaped on people in the Sims After Dark discord, especially Meg. NO ONE deserves to be talked to the way she was, and especially not by entitled brats who don't want to read, who expect us to magically force their games into working, with no effort from them.

I was already upset about what happened to Lumpinou, so when SAD decided to take a well deserved break to decompress, Deaderpool's discord also closed. The epidemic of people STILL not reading continues, too. Several of us have received DMs since yesterday asking about what's going on, when it was CLEARLY laid out in the above announcement post, in which everyone was pinged. Please don't be that person, not now, and especially not after we re-open our servers, probably sometime Tuesday... depending on how SAD's relaunch goes.

People's behavior will determine how long we STAY open. If we immediately start seeing more of the same crap that led us to close for this break, we will take another one. Don't be the reason people can't have nice things. Behave like you have some common sense, and we will do our best to help you with your issues. 

Be aware we are not going to let ourselves be run over. Our tolerance for bad behavior as a whole has run out. We're much more likely to just ban troublemakers on the spot, and move on to the more cooperative people who genuinely appreciate our support.

Hate, Hostility & Harassment

I’m a member of the support team on Sims After Dark. I knew that the infant patch would be a doozie–and it was! What I was not prepared for was the sheer level of hate, hostility & harassment that we (support team members) would face.

People seemed to have lost any sense of common decency, humility, respect, or patience. It’s quite embarrassing that we had to release MORE THAN ONE server announcement on how to behave. It has really blown my mind that people were behaving the way they were to people who VOLUNTEER their time to HELP. I am not paid by EA nor am I affiliated with EA–I just really like helping other simmers play their game with mods & cc. There have also been several modders & content creators who have been relentlessly harassed on when they were going to update their mods/cc. WE DO NOT OWE YOU ANYTHING.

Given all of this, Sims After Dark has gone dark until March 21st. Hopefully everyone will take this time to re-evaluate how they speak to people online. I know that I for one will be taking time away and actually getting to play the game for the first time since the new content dropped.

Finally, I’ve attached some of the responses that I personally received IN PUBLIC CHANNELS. I was also personally harassed by a group of people who joined the server just to say stupid shit to me. This does not include responses that other support team members have received nor does it include the sheer volume of people saying things like: “When will x mod be updated?” “Is anyone going to help me?” or spamming the support channels. I hope these pictures help you all fully understand how we’ve been talked to the past couple of days. I’ve also blocked out the names & profile pictures of these people because I’m not a shit head.
