first, comes frustration. who in their right minds would be calling? at a time like this? but of course, no one calls when gwen actually has the time ( that is a boldfaced lie; people do call, you simply never pick up ), nooo. let's call her in the middle of a goddamn alien apocalypse? ...alien invasion? whatever the hell this was. but then, as she lands in the nearest alleyway, phone pulled out, her legs nearly buckle from the sudden onslaught of relief. it is a wonder her screen does not crack from the speed at which she accepts his call.

" d--donnie? where are you? are-- are you okay? " she does not bother checking for whether she is alone, does not bother hiding her voice, one thing only on her mind: you did not lose another friend.
