   First day at Mira Qu’Lous University, and things were already looking great for Nino Lahiffe. Not only was he in on a film scholarship, but he scored a two-person dorm and his best bud was his roommate.     Adrien was finally away from his dad’s control freak tendencies at the ripe age of 18, and that meant it was time for him to spread his wings! Marinette was trying to figure out what she should do. Adrien's birthday was once again coming up, but she had no idea what she should do for it! And she didn't want to make the mistake of last year... even though he seemed pleased that his father got the scarf she actually made for him. "H-hey, Nino!" The bluenette waved him over, still somewhat nervous for asking. "Do you by chance know if Adrien wants anything in particular for his birthday. Say, like, a coat or something?"

You couldn’t exactly wrap a chill pill for Adrien’s dad, and that was the main thing Nino would say he needed. A sweater was a good alternative, though. Maybe Ladybug themed?

“ My dude Adrien? He might need a sweater, I think. And dude loves Ladybug. Like, anime body-pillows levels of love. He’ll freak over anything with spots, I bet. “

Adrien was always unsure of his actions, unsure what would be well received. He was always a little awkward, even in a situation that was supposed to be something he enjoyed he was still awkward. He tensed for a moment at the tightness, but soon relaxes.

“Yeah, you’re really tough Nino.” He smiles at him, and returns with a tight squeeze. There was something reassuring about a tight hug, something comforting..

There we go. That was much better. Adrien didn’t know a lot of the basics, but he could be taught! And brought to the dark side of hugs and open affection. Nino felt a swell of pride for his friend and patted him on the back.

“ Y’know if you want a hug, you don’t have to ask me for them, “ Nino told him. “ They’re absolutely free. “

Adrien knew Nino wasn’t a fan of his father, the Bubbler was a statement to that. Thinking about it, Adrien briefly wondered if any of his friends who’ve met his father actually liked him but its mentally brushed aside for later. Instead, he manages to smile before moving, almost timidly into Nino’s embrace.

“Ah, yes… That would make sense..” He smiles awkward, wrapping his arms around him.

Man, tentative was the only way to describe that weaksauce excuse for a hug, but at least Adrien was trying. Maybe he just didn’t know how to do it. Nino could help with that. With a grin and a tight grip, Nino trapped his friend in the mother of all hugs, resting his chin on Adrien’s shoulder. “ Come on, hug like you mean it! I’m pretty tough, right? “

"Nino!" Marinette waved over her classmate, she perched on a bench by herself. "I'm trying to make a new outfit for Alya. Wanna help a girl out?"

Was there a right answer for this? Of course Nino would love to help Marinette. However, his sense of ‘fashion’, as some would put it, mainly stayed the path of bright colors and tons of bracelets. Alya... liked flannel? She stole one of his shirts once, maybe. Nino still can’t prove it.
