aoiiryoku:
It was a quiet day, not much to do which meant that Dabi was already done with his streaming for the day. And surprisingly, even with it having been a short stream, it had ended with quite a few nice donations. Something that he had thanked his followers for with a few words from his, at the moment, heavy heart. Though, he was thankful for it not being as long as it usually was, because he could feel his mind having reached its limit. He was exhausted from all his worrying, tired due to hardly sleeping and yet, he held his head high, because there was no showing that to Tomura. The last thing that Dabi wanted was to make his lover to feel guilty for the state he was in, he had already done that by accident when the worries had become too much and those crimson depths saw it. And one time, was one too many.
Inhaling deeply, azure hues disappeared behind heavy eyelids as Dabi focused on the silence, that was currently in their apartment due to Tomura being at his mother’s place for dinner. It was odd being all alone and it made it even worse with the worry that he might end up like that, if Tomura decided to stay with his mother instead due to them still being somewhat strangers— a worry, Dabi immediately pushed out of his mind.
Suddenly hearing the doorbell, slender legs carried the midnight-haired male over towards the door before digits took a hold and opened it. Who greeted him, made azure blink before narrowing due to having no idea who this was. Something about this guy was already pissing Dabi off. Perhaps it was the expensive looking clothes or the aura that made it clear that this one was on a high horse, all in all, he didn’t like him one bit.

“ You’re not at the wrong door. He lives here. But first, you tell me why, you want to speak to him. “ Like he was going to let this guy in without an explanation.
Though the...request is justified to an extent, Kotaro still feels slight irritation at being addressed so casually. Who is this brat to demand such information from him? This visit is a sensitive matter and, most of all, a private one. Tenko alone has the right to hear what Kotaro wishes to tell him. It’s unfortunate that Tenko didn’t open the door himself, but Kotaro suspects that this person may be a roommate of sorts. If Tenko had just accepted Kotaro’s checks, he could afford to live on his own and wouldn’t need to share space with this trash.
“I’m his father, Shimura Kotaro. I wish to speak to my son, so I’d be thankful if you would let me come inside. Your concern for his well-being is much appreciated of course, but there is no need for that now.” What a huge waste of time. Where is Tenko? Kotaro can’t hear any sounds coming from inside the apartment. Maybe he is asleep?

In an attempt to win over the man denying him entrance, Kotaro adds, “I was informed that Tenko suffered a head injury. I just want to speak to him to see that he is alright.”

After almost a year of constant pushing and prodding, Kotaro finally managed to get his hands on the information where Tenko is staying. He has been unable to see him for far longer than even that, no doubt due to Nao’s ceaseless meddling in his affairs. While it is true that Kotaro went too far back in the day, he is no longer that same person. He sobered up and dropped even his smoking habit. Shouldn’t that be enough for atonement? It’s not like he can apologize without ever having the chance to see his son.
In the end, it was his (former) father-in-law who surrendered the information to Kotaro. Apparently, Tenko has suffered some sort of head injury as well as associated memory loss. Why no one referred the boy to a specialist or rehab center is a mystery to Kotaro. He would have gladly covered the costs if he had been made aware of the issue!
But, at least the timing is favorable. Maybe Tenko will be more inclined to forgive him if he can’t remember the entirety of what Kotaro has done. This thought is what encourages him to seek out his son’s apartment that day. Kotaro is dressed in a pressed shirt and blazer, an expensive watch adorning his wrist. He wants to make a good impression, after all.
He presses the doorbell and waits anxiously. When the door opens, Kotaro smiles---
---only to furrow his brows in confusion. This isn’t Tenko greeting him but some punk, who is covered in tattoos. What a horribly distasteful thing to ruin one’s body with.

Kotaro, unfortunately, needs a second to catch himself. “...I may have the wrong door but...does Shimura Tenko live here? I’d like to speak to him.”

Nothing helps Kotaro calm like a deep long drag of nicotine. He is standing in front of the office building, cigarette against his lips, after yet another argument with his business partner Tanaka. They used to see eye to eye, but after they managed to get a foot in the industry and the first proper sales started rolling in, Tanaka first showed a side Kotaro doubts he will ever learn to tolerate. Still, the man is capable, and thus Kotaro started smoking again.
The sun is setting by the time he notices a girl walk outside the premises. He doesn’t think much of it until he sees her lingering. Isn’t it a bit late for her to be walking around all by herself? He lights another cigarette, deciding to wait a little longer before he makes his way inside again. The girl is still there after he finishes. Maybe she is waiting for someone?
Kotaro hesitates briefly but then makes his way over. “Can I help you, young lady? I work for this company. Is one of your relatives working here?”
#2ndtodoroki#i really hope this works askdlansda#maybe she's lost?#or got the wrong building?#do let me know if you'd like something else!
