yes we laugh about laios’s answer here hahaha it’s not even a monster but. let’s not gloss over senshi

His favorite food is Hippogriff soup.
His deepest, darkest, most closely-held secret wasn’t just that he spent most of life never truly knowing if one of his companions fed him another one of their teammates in order to keep him alive.
It was also that he liked it. A lot.
His relief he felt wasn’t just the “oh thank god I’m not a cannibal” catharsis, it was also that he wouldn’t have to kill and eat another person just to eat this meal again.
How many times do you think he craved it over the years. How haunted was he by this. How hard was it for him to make friendships with other humans because of this. Is this why he was so comfortable living with orcs. He was so isolated that, even living on an island with a decent half-foot population, he didn’t even know what they were.

I want to write a book called “your character dies in the woods” that details all the pitfalls and dangers of being out on the road & in the wild for people without outdoors/wilderness experience bc I cannot keep reading narratives brush over life threatening conditions like nothing is happening.
I just read a book by one of my favorite authors whose plots are essentially airtight, but the MC was walking on a country road on a cold winter night and she was knocked down and fell into a drainage ditch covered in ice, broke through and got covered in icy mud and water.
Then she had a “miserable” 3 more miles to walk to the inn.
Babes she would not MAKE it to that inn.

it's hilarious how if you do any amount of research into life or death melee combat the prevailing themes that emerge are that
you're gonna get tired very quickly
tired leads to injured, injured leads to tired, tired leads to—
you're not gonna be as composed as you expect
humans are more fragile than you think and also more durable than you think. both are true and neither stop them from dying of an infection later (DO NOT GET BITTEN)
DO NOT GET STABBED (generally good life advice)
DO GET A SPEAR
knights are faster than you think

what do you know of loss?
no words for how much I adore these two characters and the ways their journeys parallel one another's... take this as part character study (what if they helped each other heal!) and part ship content (they were made for each other...) anyways. the shadowzel illness never stops

Anat the Canaanite goddess of sexual love, war, and hunting. Progenitress of heroes, lady of Palestine.
Info on each sketch below:
Top right: Anat is shown here in a man's war kilt and her hair pulled up, a nod to the Anat statue head found in Gaza. This is after Baal Hadad's 'death', with her cheeks gouged by grief and face painted to resemble a man's beard. This beard imitation combined with her topless clothing and the horned headdress she wears is to evoke a sense of Baal having risen from the dead to claim revenge.
Bottom Right: An exploration of her musculature, with a focus on the markings on her hips and stomach. Drawn from female Canaanite fertility idols that show similar markings with a lot of emphasis on the navel/bellybutton.
Bottom Left: Anat at the feast of Baal's new palace. She wears expensive, imported Egyptian linens. Her hair is braided, eyelids darkened with kohl, and hands darkened with henna.
Center: Anat's fullbody with lots of influence from historical Palestinian dress. She is shown with a vulture because Aqhat, killed at her order, was eaten by vultures and because Anat is often shown with wing imagery.

a comic for tdor featuring lyrics from “famous last words” by mcr. that song hits different today.
this trans day of remembrance, remember not only those we have lost, but our trans brothers, sisters and siblings that are here with us, struggling along side us. we are each other’s family; we are each other’s home.
honor the dead. fight for the living. stay safe.
[image ID: a digital comic set to lyrics from the song “famous last words” by my chemical romance. the comic starts drawn in white on a black background, and gradually shifts to being drawn in white, pink, and blue.
it begins with a hand next to the text: “now I know;” followed by a bust of a short haired person next to the text: “that I can’t make you stay;” then a partial bust of a person with long hair in a jacket covered in patches and pins, one of which is a heart patch with a trans symbol in it, next to the text: “but where’s your heart?” then it shows the tops of some powerlines with the text: “and I know there’s nothing I can say.”
next it shows a memorial site with a poster and flowers at the bottom of a lamp post with the text: “to change that part;” then there are a large collection of lit candles with the text: “so many bright lights that cast a shadow;” next, a person in a puffy coat holding a piece of paper with the text: “but can I speak?” where the word speak is scribbled out; next shown in a group of transphobic protestors holding anti-trans signs and yelling with the text: “is it hard understanding.”
next shown two figures with hatched wrists and ankles reaching out to each other with the text: “why I’m ‘incomplete’?” where the word “incomplete” is in quotation marks; next is a panel of a mourning crowd, with three crying young people at the front, paired with the text: “I see you laying next to me;” then there is a picture frame with a portrait next to a burning candle, where the face of the portrait is replaced with the words “rest in power” and paired with the text: “with words I thought I’d never speak.”
next shown is a line up of five silhouettes in blue, pink, and white with the text: “awake and unafraid, asleep or dead;” next is a drawing of a thin person with brown skin and a shaved head dressed in blue and pink holding up a large trans flag and shouting, shown next to a transparent figure with curly hair wearing a dress, who is also shouting and supporting the first person’s wrist as they hold up their flag, wrapped with the text: “I am not afraid to keep on living.”
next shown is a bust of a person with tan skin and chin-length blue hair smiling and crying the stripes of the trans flag down their cheek and rubbing their other eye with the text: “I am not afraid to walk this world alone;” next, the background fades from a starry sky pattern to a blue sky with pink clouds showing the text: “honey if you stay you’ll be forgiven, nothing you can say can stop me going home.” at the bottom of the page, a silhouette looks up into the sky at the final lines of text. end ID]

1939 Tudor in Dallas, Texas is too perfectly staged, but I like the decor. 3bds, 3ba, $925K + $10mo. HOA fee.
The front door opens right into the living room. I kind of like at least a foyer, but it's alright. I really like the black walls. There's a nice built-in shelf behind the door and a pretty fireplace.
Isn't this a nice living room, though?
The living room is open to the dining room. Love the built-in cabinetry and wallpaper. Nice chandelier, too. Since the room is long, I would use a rectangular table, though. The round one seems tight.
Nice kitchen has pale gray cabinets and white quartz tops on the lowers and the uppers are a slightly darker gray.
There is room for a kitchen table and a nice cabinet.
But the owner opted to put the kitchen table in the sunporch. What a pretty porch. I would make it a plant room.
This room, with an open arch to the primary bedroom, is used as an office.
They made this room the primary with an en-suite bath on the main floor.
Newly redone stairs to the upper floor.
Guest powder room.
So, this is a finished attic with two nice bedrooms.
They also have a simple bath up here.
Patio in the back, and you see how they opened the roof to add the new bath.
There's another small patio on the side of the house. The house is listed for $925K, recently reduced by $14K. Since there's no finished basement, pool, or anything else extra, I don't think I'd buy it for $925K. What do you think? -*+
