The best thing is that Diana has nearly NO REACTION to anyone/anything else. She’s perfectly composed until Akko arrives.

Akko has the gift to make Diana actually human. She is not just the perfect heiress, she can just let go. But pre-cavendish arc, Diana doesnt let herself feel. Because people are waiting of her to keep her ice-Queen face.

But not Akko.

Because Akko had never cared about Diana Cavendish.

She only cares about Diana Cavendish.

And that is what Diana had always needed.

something in the way pre-cavendish arc diana lets akko get to her. the way she lets her brows furrow or clenches her fists around her - even for a split second, and then turns on her icy facade, like she’s convincing herself that she doesn’t care for akko. oh lord

The obvious difference between Akko and Chariot, Diana and Croix, lies in their choices.

Where Chariot gave up, dimmed, ceased to shine — Akko pushes forward, refusing to surrender. She is simple, but therein lies her strength; doubts and loneliness did not consume her as they did Chariot.

Where Diana acknowledged her mistakes and strove for the better, for her family’s creed and the future of the world, where she knew how to admire others — Croix chose envy, petty stubbornness.

And when Akko was broken, Diana said: You’ll make it. You can do anything. And so, hand in hand, they walked toward their bright future.

But where Chariot was destroyed and on the brink, Croix said: At last, IT has realized you’re unworthy.

They chose to kill and to die

Without support, without the strength for something better.

And so, their past — the burden of mistakes and regrets — is where I remain, irreversibly stuck.
