She stared back down as the other approached. Despite calling him upon seeing him, she didn’t want him to see her in such a state. While the appearance of her broken limbs that she feels aren’t visible, the ugly coloring of bruises on her body sure were as well as the blood staining her.
‘I look pathetic, don’t I?’
She finally looked back up to him. At least her only functional arm at the moment was able to prop her up so she wasn’t lying completely on the floor. She wasn’t crying anymore, only a vacant look in her eyes, looking lost and defeated. There was surely anger in it too but it wasn’t pointed anywhere towards the other man.
“I deserved this didn’t I...? I suppose...my fate had been sealed when I decided to keep everything in... I was only set up for failure in my situation, wasn’t I...?”
A laugh escaped her. It was hollowed, though different than the other times while she was still alive. It wasn’t faked or to hide something anymore. It was the sound of having given up.
“Why...do you come here...? Why apologize to me...when it was my fault I let it get to this...?”
shslpriiestess:
It was difficult to move. Celica should’ve known that.
However, that didn’t stop her from trying to move. Quite a saddening sight to see her try to crawl her way across the floor wanting to leave the brightly lit room. Being in such a closed off, brightly lit place didn’t help her much here. Though tried as she did, her body kept giving out on her as barely midway across the room.
She looked down on the floor, the look of distress and near tears again were evident. She wanted to leave. She wanted out of this place, and yet she couldn’t bring herself to–
She quickly looked up as she heard quiet steps approaching. Maybe remnants of her senses while she was still alive were tricking her. She couldn’t really feel much of anything anymore but maybe there was someone out there.
Her eyes widened as she saw someone enter. She recognized them. At least…by their appearance and the time spent here. Everything in her mind right now was a haze in trying to piece together memories she couldn’t remember. But right now she can clearly see the person who had entered the room.
“W…Wataru…?”
@hibikamen
He waited until the trial was over.
Just the trial; he was angered at the end, just like the previous, but he told himself that such anger was going to do him no good. All of them had their memories wiped, left with no knowledge of one another until it was too late.
Wataru leaves before the execution begins. He has seen enough death, knows he’ll only see more until they’re either all dead or something changes.  ( the thought of the former makes his stomach twist. )
Her death… he knows the remnants remain, doesn’t know how long, but his own still haunt him they’ve been haunting him more and more, how many times has he bled how much has he bled by now and now knowing the cause of her death, he isn’t sure what to expect.
When he arrives–his stomach twists again. Wataru knows she recognizes him, but not in the same way he does. Celica’s memories wouldn’t have even begun to form a decent picture yet, he’s sure, and even though he wants to rush over immediately because they were friends and they trusted each other, he doesn’t want to startle her. Wataru pushes back whatever expression had made itself present on his face when he arrived, aiming to steady himself, thinking back to when Goro approached him first after his own death.
He steadies himself, walks over to her, and kneels down beside her.
“Celica…” What should he say? What can he say? “…I’m sorry.”

Another 'meow' grabbed the redhead's attention thought before she could even turn, she felt herself lean on one side a bit as the cat practically jumped onto her shoulder, which ended up making the priestess even more confused and worried over the feline's behavior.
Before she could question again over her cat's reactions, from her side vision caught the cat heavily focused on something in front of them, following by some small noise, causing for Celica to follow the cat's line of sight just in time to see another book moving. This time Celica didn't express much of a reaction as she can only stare as the book eventually dropped onto the ground in front of her, revealing the front cover to be a dictionary.
Celica was always one to believe in anything relating to the supernatural. Anyone who was raised back home under priesthood were well aware of the myths of otherworldly beings as well the idea of spirits. Though in what she believes is her first time seeing this as far as she could remember she can't help but have the glint of curiosity in her eyes wondering what would happen next as she continued to eye the fallen book.
What exactly is going on here?
shslpriiestess:
At this point she didn’t know what came first.
The sound of one of the books falling off the shelf seemingly out of nowhere or one of the cats meowing loudly to grab her attention.
Either way, it didn’t help Celica much as she quickly took a step back with an initial reaction of shock as she looked between the fallen book and to the larger feline that looked at her before looking right next to the shelf as if the cat was staring at the air again. Though her reaction that followed wasn’t that of being frightened, but of confusion and curiosity.
“What’s…gotten into you?” she spoke carefully, but who was she even asking that to? Her cat? Herself?
“Maybe I’m just…tired…” she mumbled under her breath. She was still physically exhausted after going to heal a certain idol’s injury, but was stopped from finishing due to the draw back of her own health for it. Maybe she really did need the rest, even if she didn’t want to admit it.
She picked up the book from the ground with one hand to examine it. It didn’t have a title anywhere. All there was was a brand on the front and a different one on the back. She recognized the book easily. It spoke tales of a war from a long time ago over the gods that were worshiped back home.
Strangely enough, looking upon her free right hand, her palm held a brand that looked exactly like the one on the front cover.
Did…anyone ever noticed that?
Did he scare her?
He didn’t want that. He didn’t want to distress Celica; not after all she’s been through. He starts to regret trying to interfere, but he then notices the curious look in her eye. A wave of relief washes over him. Honestly, though, he should have expected this. He probably knew Celica better than anyone.
Celica most likely didn’t remember him, and how special she was to him. He was genuinely worried about frightening or hurting her, but he seemed to be dealing the most damage to himself.
Continuing to watch over her, he noticed that mark on both the book’s cover and her palm. A memory popped into his mind, but he quickly dismissed it. He didn’t need to focus on that right now. He just wants to get Celica’s attention.
Daiki reached out to try and touch her palm, only to have it phase right through. He’s hit with another painful realization, that he’ll never be able to hold her hand like that. Their mortality separated them, and he just wanted to shout in frustration. Instead, he keeps calm. Touching her wouldn’t do any good, so instead, he moved another book while she can see it.
He’s here, Celica. Won’t you notice him?

At this point there wasn’t much to do. Either no one had really left their rooms or some of them went to go visit the fair grounds that had been set up. For now Celica didn’t have the motivation to go explore the new area. Staying in her room would probably be the best option as she decided to organize things. Her room wasn’t messy by all means. It fact it was nearly spotless aside from a few cat toys and articles of clothing on the floor, but she tended to gravitate to fixing up on whatever amount of books she had on her over herbal remedies and others she rather not go into detail as well as the organized section of herbs she had from both the ones she brought and those she had managed to find on the island.
Before she could continue on with her cleaning, the sounds of her feline friends chasing each other throughout the room seemed to cease altogether. How odd? Especially considering what followed was one of them ‘meowing’ as if someone had entered the room.
Celica turned her head, only to see both cats staring off at the bare wall of the room, raising much confusion as to their behavior being stranger than usual.
Though her questioning quickly came and went as she turned around to look back over towards the shelf that held the books she was currently rearranging.

She didn’t remember passing out, hell she didn’t even bother to check how long she’s been out.
All she had been doing since she woke up was mixing the herbs she had on her during the trial, with added ingredients to make a suitable paste with as she applied it all over the small cuts on her hands, flinching from the cool feeling on her skin before wrapping her hands in gauze and making sure they were secure enough, but also allow her some movement on her hands.
A knock sounded on her door, causing her to turn towards it once she finished making sure the wrappings were secured. This also brought attention to the felines turning their heads at the sound before going back to sleep in the mound of soft blankets on the floor near the bed.
Celica made her way over, questioning who would be knocking to visit her. Like she had anyone come in here besides the first investigation when she wasn’t even in the room.
Her question was answered upon opening the door and revealing the familiar figure of the teacher she had been cuffed with up till the night before.
Tumblr media
“Hello, sir. What brings you here to see me?” it was clear that her expression was unreadable once again just like in the trial, acting as if nothing had even happened with her before she passed out earlier. Despite her lack of tone, she was rather curious to what he was doing here.
Chain Connection (Closed- Celica)
After…all the mess, both of swirling emotions, feeling horrid that he’d had no choice but to raise his voice to calm the students down and then finding out who was behind all this: not to mention lifting heavy bits of concrete, the ginger teacher felt exceedingly tired. Yet he had something else to try and do: he couldn’t ignore it. He couldn’t…ignore how much Celica was overworking herself, and trying to close everything away.
She could yell at him for butting in, he didn’t mind - anything was preferable to seeing students overwork themselves like he was guilty of doing in past. He knew all it did was make friends worried, and strain yourself. Hopefully, she was in her room at this time, because…he was too tired to check elsewhere.
Despite his nerves, he knocked firmly, more confidently than he felt. Please…let her be there.

a fleeting memory [chapter 3 end]
She returned to her room.
She was tired.
But all she can feel was hate and disgust.
How long has it been she’s felt that way?
Honestly....she never has...
The feeling was new and she truly despised it and yet..it reminded her of someone.
Thinking back to what had happen. Another murder and yet, she felt no remorse over it. Quite ironic, for a priestess who was supposed to understand and not express hatred towards others but she never grew up like the rest of them. She was to tired to think about her opinion on Clive at this point and she couldn’t bring herself to bring comfort to anyone else aside the fact that she’ll have to go check on Totoko’s wound later.
This feeling of anger....it felt so familiar. Like a fleeting memory of her childhood. Eyes widening in realization.
Tumblr media
“Alm...”
She laid on her bed, pondering the memory of what once was. A chocked sob follow by strained laughter followed as tears rolled down. What’s the point in remembering someone from such a long time ago? She wasn’t going to see him again. She was sure she had moved on from this.
She felt disgusted with herself.
The sobbing and the strained laughter echoed through the room.
She didn’t even remember when she passed out.

Chapter 2 [End]
Why?
The same word kept repeating in her head once she was finally conscious from her long rest.
How long was she asleep? Hours? Maybe longer? Who knew at this point.
Why?
She had went into the kitchen to make herself some tea to recover from exhaustion. She didn’t have much of an appetite and for now she was sick of drinking coffee after constantly drinking it for the whole time they were up.
Her mind went back to the murder. She wished she was still in her sleep deprived stupor instead of focusing back on it
Why?
She didn’t get enough time to get to know Wataru very well but at least he had helped her in the times when everyone had split up for investigations for both trials. Not the best circumstances to be acquainted with him but it was something? Possibly? She did feel calm, almost safe, with him beside her through the trials.
But in her mind all she could think about was Wataru murdering someone. She denied the very idea in her thoughts.
And yet she couldn’t express that like everyone else in the trial room. Her lack of expression since he revealed himself was a frightening thing. She did promise herself that she wouldn’t let her emotions get in the way after the first trial but not like this.
She felt....something hollow inside her now that he was no longer with them.
And she couldn’t explain why.
Her mind crept back towards Daiki. Unlike Wataru, she barely even spoke to him. Just a simple conversation when they first arrived and that was about as much contact without anyone around.
So why finally going back to thinking about him give her so much pain? Why was this presence of emptiness much worse when thinking about the Ultimate Superstitious? Was there something else there she was missing? She recalled the group photo from the first trial, but he wasn’t there so why does this matter? What did this all mean to her?
Why?
Tumblr media
She gasped lightly upon realizing tears started falling. She tried to wipe them away but more only appeared. A sniffle escaped her as she held back a sob.
“I’m sorry.”
Why was she reacting this way? What is she even sorry for? She didn’t even get to know them and yet this hollow feeling inside her stuck with her, like she lost people who were important to her.
“I-I’m so sorry...”
The cup of tea she made no longer warm. Not like she wanted to have anymore anyway.

What is this message even supposed to mean?
Did...did they spell hello wrong or something?
This priestess has no understanding of strange words used nowadays.
MESSAGE RECEIVED FROM: Celica
Are...you okay? Was this a typo? I’m going to guess you’re just tired.
Tumblr media
It’s 3 AM and he can’t sleep. What better time to send a mass message to everyone on the island to see who responds?

She couldn’t help but giggle at the puns written in the text. She did appreciate the sentiment in trying to reassure her, though that wouldn’t really change the fact that she had accidentally sent those pictures to everyone.

Well the thing is...I may have accidentally sent that text out to everyone...
Gods this was just embarrassing in general. She didn’t really have a firm grasp in using something akin to a phone what was she thinking sorting stuff when she was half asleep anyway?
shslpriiestess;:
She looked over the photos she had taken earlier today, smiling as she scrolled through some. The redhead thought it would be nice to put them in a separate album to organize them.
Wait did she just accidentally click send on mass text!?

Perhaps it was…a mistake to do this half awake at 3am.
Ah…goodness, he certainly was getting a lot of messages since he’d gotten this strange ID Card! Not that he minded: the students were inquisitive about the technology and were giving themselves something else to do other than the horrid thing the bear had asked, so he was glad.
Message recieved from “THYME AFTER THYME” (Justin)
Oh! Those images sure are purr-fect in every way. Truly fur-scinating. I won’t tell anyone you showed me if you’re worried, though.
He…he couldn’t resist the puns, he really couldn’t, there.

After the announcements, it was easy to see that Celica was rather unnerved what happened, though did her best to hide what she felt about it. Maybe taking her mind off it for a while would be best. She was forced to wake up rather early after all. Maybe some tea would do her some good. Looking over her student ID could also serve a distraction for later
Though she should perhaps change to a different shirt as she looked down at the shirt she hastily put on before leaving the room, finally taking notice of the vast amount of small white cat hairs stuck to it. Trying to brush it off wouldn’t do it any good. Might be better to wash it as soon as she finished eating.
Tumblr media
She made her way out of the lobby to reach towards the elevators to head back upstairs, quickly apologizing to anyone she bumped into as she made her way to the doors.

one plus two (prologue)
While to say something akin to a vacation was something Celica wasn’t used in the slightest, yet she was no stranger to islands.
Stepping off the boat was a wave a familiarity of the ocean air, though that’s about as much as familiarity she was going to get as the first thing to catch her line of sight was the eight story hotel just a distance away. There was perhaps more to see the more she walked further in, but for now, reaching the hotel and settling in would have to come first--
Meow.
Just as quickly, a shush escaped her lips as looked down at the partially open bag that she was holding on her left. She looked around for anyone nearby though quickly noticed that someone was right behind her as she stepped out from the boat earlier.
“...”

“Pray tell that you didn’t hear that just now.”

Sometimes it was rather difficult to adjust to the situation.
Well that’s not to say Celica had a hard time with the way the system worked in the school, though her transitioning to the life on an small island to getting used to studies and social norms of Hope’s Peak was rather...awkward to say the least.
Though that doesn’t exactly explain how she easily forgotten her utensils to eat lunch with.
She could always use her hands. It wasn’t the first time she had forgotten them, though receiving a few stares was something she didn’t want to handle today.
Tumblr media
“Excuse me,” couldn’t hurt to ask if someone can at least lend her something. “I apologize for being a bother, but do you by chance have a spare spoon or something?”
