The Night Riri Williams Died
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
pairing: shuri udaku x riri williams
word count: 3.6k
summary: a late-night date in chicago takes a tragic turn when shuri and riri are ambushed by namor.
warning: major character death, descriptions of death (nothing gory or too graphic, but still could be found triggering to some people)
a/n: in case it’s not already obvious from the title, this is based off gwen stacy’s iconic death scene in the amazing spider-man. inspired by this beautiful piece of artwork. sorry if this ruins your day 🫶🏽
Tumblr media
The hum of the city had softened to a lull as the jazz club doors swung open behind them, letting out a final sultry chord and a trail of laughter. The lake breeze brushed along the street, warm against Riri’s bare shoulders. She glanced up at Shuri, who was walking beside her in a deep purple jacket, trimmed in gold.
“I still can’t believe you made the sax player do a Wakandan scale run.”
Shuri gave a smug grin. “He wanted the challenge.”
“He was sweating.”
“He was honored.”
Riri laughed, her hand slipping into Shuri’s as they stepped off the curb and crossed the street. They strolled under the dim orange glow of the streetlights near Wabash Avenue, the L train tracks rattling softly overhead. Shuri loved this part of Chicago. Not because of its prestige or polish, but because it felt alive. Riri was alive here — her stride loose, her laughter easy. They moved like dancers — shoulders brushing, conversation seamless. For once, there were no meetings. No royal duties. No tech deadlines or schematics to review. The night belonged to them.
Shuri squeezed her hand.
“I love this,” she whispered.
“Me too,” Riri said, slowing to a stop in front of a shop window. “Feels like everything else fades out when I’m with you. Especially like this… not in a lab. Not saving the world.”
“Yeah,” Shuri sighed, a softness in her eyes as she slowed to face her. “You make the world feel… smaller. And safer.”
Riri leaned in on her tiptoes, her hand curling behind Shuri’s neck. The kiss was gentle — brief but warm. A promise, not a possession. When they pulled apart, they both had that dazed half-smile people get when they forget about the world for a second.
Then the world remembered them.
Tumblr media
BOOM.
A sound like thunder detonated behind them, followed by a violent wave of pressure. A sudden rush of air and a hiss of bursting steam. Then came the water — raging, cold, and fast.
A water bomb.
It was like a shockwave had spilt the air, creating a violent cyclone that sent cars skidding and people screaming.
The explosion hurled them off their feet, ripping them apart. Riri was thrown backward into a metal bike rack. Shuri hit the pavement and rolled, instinctively shielding her head.
“Shuri!” Riri gasped, soaked and dazed as she coughed out the water in her lungs.
Shuri forced herself up onto her knees, vision blurred and ears ringing. “Riri?!”
She spotted her, about twenty feet away, stumbling to her feet. Their eyes met.
Screams erupted all around them. Pedestrians scattered in panic. Horns blared. Water flooded the intersection in roaring torrents. Smoke hissed from the center of the blast.
Then the wind shifted again — sharp and sudden — and the screaming reached an even higher pitch.
Shuri turned just in time to see the shadowy silhouette descending from the sky.
Namor.
He hovered on winged ankles above the smoky intersection, water clinging to his skin, eyes burning with cold, unwavering intent.
He wasn’t here for diplomacy.
His gaze was locked onto Riri.
“No,” Shuri breathed, the word torn from her chest as she struggled to stand. “No—Riri!”
Riri coughed, shaking, halfway on her knees. Her gaze flicked up.
She froze.
Namor’s expression didn’t shift. He looked past Shuri as if she wasn’t even there.
“RUN!” Shuri screamed, voice hoarse as she propelled herself forward. “Riri, run!”
Riri pivoted — just one step — and that was all she got.
Namor shot down like a spear from heaven, snatched her by the arm, and soared back into the air before Shuri could even scream.
“NO—RIRI!”
Tumblr media
Shuri’s hand flew to her chest, activating her kimoyo beads. The nanotech swirled from her bracelet and coated her skin like smoke and mercury, forming the sleek lines of the Black Panther armor.
Within seconds, she leapt onto the side of a delivery truck, used it as a springboard, and launched herself into the air. She climbed buildings with impossible speed, scaling windows and signage, leaping from rooftop to rooftop with only one thought in her mind:
Get her back.
Namor rose higher, Riri dangling in his grip, thrashing and kicking, her fingers scrambling toward the necklace beneath her top: the summoner for her Ironheart suit.
She grabbed it.
Namor looked down.
And with a cruel flick of his wrist, he ripped it from her neck and tossed it into the wind.
“No!” Riri cried, watching her last defense fall into the night.
“You won’t be saved by machines.” he growled.
Below, Shuri scaled rooftops, sprinting along ledges, her claws slicing into stone. Her heart thundered in her chest. She leapt, pushed harder, firing grapple lines to gain altitude.
“NAMOR!” she roared. “Put her down!”
He stopped, hovering high above the face of an old clock tower near the river’s edge. The building was abandoned — empty of life. Riri dangled from his grip, her body weak from the altitude, the cold, and the weight of panic.
Shuri landed hard on the rooftop of a high-rise, panting, her heart pounding in her ears.
“Release her at once!” she said, her voice steady even as it trembled inside. “This is madness! We had a truce.”
Namor looked down, face unreadable. “We did.”
“Then honor it!” she called up into the air.
“The truce,” he said calmly, “was between Wakanda and Talokan. This girl? She is neither. Your love does not shield her from consequence.”
“She’s with me!” Shuri shouted, hands shaking uncontrollably. “You know that. She is under Wakanda’s protection.”
“She was never part of the agreement,” Namor said, his tone turning colder. “She built the machine. She brought the surface world to our door. She violated the ocean’s sanctity. Her blood is not sacred.”
“She is not your enemy!” Shuri screamed. “She’s a child. A student. She didn’t know what she was building! Let her go, now!”
High above her, Riri continued to struggle in his grasp. She looked up at Namor, fear all over her face.
“You don’t have to do this,” she said, a mixture of desperation and defiance. “I didn’t mean to hurt anyone. You want justice? You’re looking in the wrong place!”
He barely looked at her.
“You represent the same danger,” Namor said. “Whether you intended to or not.”
Then he looked back at Shuri.
“You spared a threat. I eliminate it.”
He released his grip.
And Riri Williams dropped out of the sky.
Tumblr media
The instant Namor’s fingers opened, time fractured.
Riri plummeted like a stone — flailing, helpless, her eyes wide with fear — and Shuri didn’t hesitate. She didn’t think. She didn’t breathe. She just moved.
“RIRI!”
She kicked off the rooftop with all the force her suit could muster, the vibranium-lined boots unleashing a shockwave that shattered concrete beneath her. Air screamed past her helmet as she soared upward, kinetic energy propelling her higher than she’d ever gone. Her arms stretched desperately into the void above — reaching, reaching — as the space between them closed by feet, then inches.
Riri spun midair — limbs wild, breath stolen by the wind. For one perfect, horrifying second, their eyes locked — and Shuri reached her. She caught Riri in midair, wrapping her arms around her and pulling her in tight against her chest. A heartbeat later, they hit the rooftop dome of the old clock tower.
Shuri twisted her body mid-fall, taking the brunt of the impact. Glass exploded around them like a thousand jagged stars. They plunged through a web of steel beams and rusted gears. Shuri curled protectively around Riri, the world blurring into chaos.
And then — impact.
Shuri struck the metal catwalk, her back taking the full force of the fall. Vibranium absorbed most of it, but pain shot up her spine anyway. She grunted, breath ripped from her lungs — but her arms never loosened. Riri lay cradled tightly against her chest, her head tucked beneath Shuri’s chin.
Dust engulfed them.
Then, silence.
Tumblr media
Shuri gasped, groaning, her arms still around Riri’s body. She opened her eyes.
Riri lay still on her chest.
“Riri?” she croaked.
No response.
Shuri sat up, fingers trembling as she cupped Riri’s cheek. “Hey. I caught you. You’re alright.”
Riri blinked once, dazed, breathing shallow. “…That…sucked.”
A laugh bubbled out of Shuri, half-hysterical, half-sobbing.
Then—
CRASH.
The far wall exploded in a flood of pressurized water. Namor entered like a storm, spinning his spear with deadly intent.
Shuri stood fast, placing herself between him and Riri.
“Don’t,” she growled, voice low, murderous.
Namor charged.
They clashed across the collapsing tower — vibranium claws against spear. Sparks flew. Stone cracked. Shuri fought with everything — every ounce of rage, of love, of desperation.
Riri crawled behind a gear column, coughing, vulnerable and unprotected.
“Shuri!”
Namor roared and hurled a second water bomb toward the mechanism behind them.
It detonated with a violent hiss—
The floor beneath Riri collapsed.
She screamed as she fell backward into open air.
“RIRI!”
Shuri’s heart stopped. She ran.
The world slowed.
She reached the edge of the clock tower as Riri fell through moonlight, curls whipping wildly in the wind.
Their eyes met.
Riri’s lips parted in a silent scream.
Shuri dove.
Tumblr media
The air was cold up here. Sharper than she expected.
It roared past her ears, ripped through her curls, and filled her lungs in short, panicked bursts. Her stomach lurched violently with each second of descent. She couldn’t scream anymore. Her throat had gone dry from the first cry she let out when the floor disappeared beneath her.
There was only wind now.
Wind, fear, and the weightless, spinning horror of falling.
Time slowed.
In the space between the seconds, Riri Williams knew this was it.
This is how I die.
It wasn’t heroic.
It wasn’t dramatic.
It was brutal and fast.
Not in battle. Not in her suit. Not in the lab. Not even in control.
Just her body and the air and the night sky.
All because of a war she was never supposed to be a part of.
God, she thought, eyes welling with terrified tears, I’m not ready. I’m not ready—
But something flickered past the edge of her vision.
A shape.
Sleek. Black and gold. Fast as lightning.
Shuri.
Her eyes locked with the woman she loved.
And suddenly — just for a second — the terror cracked.
The fear didn’t vanish. But something else bloomed underneath it.
Love.
Shuri was diving with everything she had. Her arms stretched, her face stricken and focused and alive with desperation.
She wasn’t going to let her go.
She remembered the jazz club — the music. The kiss outside. Shuri’s laugh. The way her fingers had fit so perfectly between hers. That tiny spark of electricity when they touched.
She remembered Shuri saying: “You make the world feel smaller.”
And now the world was falling away.
A strange calm settled over her chest, warm and cold all at once.
At least I’m not alone.
At least Shuri was with her at the end.
She let her limbs relax. She stopped fighting the air. She closed her eyes and allowed herself to feel her final thoughts:
Please let her be okay.
Tell her I love her.
Tell her thank you… for loving me back.
Then—
Contact.
For one impossible moment, Riri felt arms wrap around her. Strong. Protective. So fast, it rattled her soul.
There was no pain.
Just shock.
Tumblr media
It happened too fast.
Riri was falling.
The world tilted. The sound of her scream echoed through the shattered ribs of the old clock tower, a sound so raw, so desperate, it split Shuri’s heart wide open. One second she was watching Riri recoil from the blast of Namor’s second water bomb, her silhouette framed by the cracked wooden beams — and the next, she was gone.
Gone through the broken floor.
Falling.
NO!
Shuri’s body moved before thought could catch up. Her heart launched into her throat. She sprinted to the jagged edge where Riri had vanished, and without hesitation, dove. She surged downward like a missile, the skyline blurring around her, the Chicago night full of screaming sirens and the low hum of shattered peace.
But she only saw Riri.
Riri, who had sassed her way into the princess’s heart with nothing but raw intellect and dreams bigger than the stars. Riri, who laughed loud, talked back, and never waited for permission. Riri, who challenged every wall Shuri built around herself and kissed her like she belonged in Wakanda, in her life, in her future, in her world.
Riri, whose small figure was falling further out of reach, lips parted in a soundless cry, eyes shining with unshed tears.
Time slowed.
Shuri’s HUD tracked Riri’s velocity.
312 feet.
210.
125.
Impact in 2.4 seconds.
“No—no—no—”
She rerouted power to her suit’s thrusters, forcing an extra burst of kinetic energy to launch herself forward. Her claws extended.
She was so close.
The ground rushed up like a monster waiting with open jaws.
Shuri’s arms stretched — fingers trembling from the precision needed. She couldn’t afford even a centimeter of error.
0.6 seconds to impact.
Riri closed her eyes.
Shuri reached out, screamed her name—
And caught her.
Their bodies collided with a brutal force, Shuri’s arms locking tightly around Riri’s waist. She twisted, rolling midair, using her own momentum to take the brunt of the impact as they smashed into the pavement. The kinetic charge stored in Shuri’s suit exploded outward, absorbing a portion of the energy — but not all. The ground cracked beneath them, glass and concrete spraying in every direction. Shuri’s back hit first, her armor groaning under the force. The nanotech absorbed most of it, but the blow still rattled through her bones. Shuri’s back scraped violently against the ground as they skidded for several feet before finally halting.
Shuri gasped, coughing violently. Her ears rang. Her heart pounded so hard it made her dizzy. Her vision blurred from the pain shooting through her shoulder and ribs. But she didn’t care.
She felt the weight in her arms.
She was holding Riri close, wrapped around her like a shield.
She did it.
She caught her.
She was alive.
They were alive.
Tumblr media
For a breathless second, it was quiet.
“Riri,” she choked out, barely above a whisper. “I’ve got you. You’re safe. I caught you.”
The only response was more silence. Not even the sound of her breathing.
Shuri’s helmet peeled back as she leaned forward into a sitting position, her breaths ragged and sharp in the heavy silence. As she shifted, Riri’s body — still cradled against her — began to slump backward, her head lolling, limbs slack. Panic surged in Shuri’s chest.
“No—no, no, stay with me,” she whispered, quickly adjusting her grip.
She hooked an arm beneath Riri’s knees and the other behind her back, lifting her into a soft, trembling bridal carry. Riri’s head fell gently against Shuri’s shoulder, the dead weight forcing her to clutch tighter, as if her arms alone could anchor her to life.
Shuri pulled her closer, settling her in her lap, and gently repositioned her limp form with care, brushing back curls from her face. “Come on, sthandwa… please,” she murmured, voice barely holding itself together as her thumb gently traced Riri’s jawline. “You’re okay. You have to be okay.”
But Riri didn’t move. Didn’t stir. Didn’t even flinch. And that silence began to crush Shuri from the inside out. Her hands trembled as they cupped Riri’s face, thumbs stroking over cooling skin, searching — begging — for any sign of warmth, any flicker of breath, the smallest twitch behind closed lids. Her own breathing was shallow now, jagged, a tight rhythm fighting against the dread curling in her chest.
“Riri,” she whispered again, firmer this time as she began to gently shake her, as if her voice alone could coax her girlfriend back. “Hey. Hey, wake up. You’re okay. I caught you. I got you.”
But Riri’s head only lolled further against her shoulder, her curls brushing against Shuri’s cheek, soft and weightless in a way that felt wrong — empty.
Shuri pressed two fingers to the side of Riri’s neck. Waited. Counted. Pressed harder.
Nothing.
“No,” she breathed, shaking her head in small, sharp motions as if denying it would make it untrue. “No, no, no—Riri, don’t do this. You hear me?” Her voice cracked. “Don’t do this to me!”
Her fingers found Riri’s wrist.
Nothing.
She pressed her ear to Riri’s still chest.
Still nothing.
Panic, sharper than anything she’d ever felt, surged through her. She activated the biometric scan in her kimoyo beads — shaky fingers hovering above Riri’s body.
The HUD blinked. A soft chime — then the devastating words:
No Vital Signs Detected.
“NO!” Shuri screamed, voice raw, eyes wide with horror at the flickering red words. “No—no, that’s wrong. That’s wrong!”
Quickly, carefully, she shifted Riri’s weight from her lap, laying her down gently on the wet concrete. She started chest compressions, her palms slamming into Riri’s sternum with just enough force — not too much, not too little —
“Breathe, baby. Come on. Please. You’re strong. You’re stubborn. You don’t get to leave me like this.”
Each push felt like a plea. Her shoulders trembled with the effort. She tilted Riri’s head back and breathed into her mouth. One. Two. Then more compressions. Over and over. Again and again.
“Riri, please!” Shuri cried, tears streaming freely down her cheeks. “Stay with me, okay? I caught you. I caught you—how can you—”
But as her eyes scanned Riri’s still form, the truth became clear. Her body had no visible wounds, but her limbs hung unnaturally, slack in a way that didn’t make sense. Her neck tilted back just slightly off-center. A telltale sign of high-velocity trauma.
A sick sensation washed over Shuri as her mind understood what her heart could not, what it refused to.
The way she’d caught her.
The force of the deceleration.
The sudden stop after a terminal fall.
The second her arms whipped around her waist too tight, too strong — the physics did what the fall couldn’t finish. She’d pulled her in too fast.
No heart-shaped herb had ever been ingested by Riri, endowing her with inhuman strength and durability. She was just a girl. A normal girl. A normal, brilliant, beautiful, perfect girl with a normal, fragile human body that had just plummeted twenty stories and jerked to a stop. Even with the suit absorbing the impact, the velocity had transferred into Riri’s unarmored frame. She’d whipped forward in Shuri’s arms — like a snapped rubber band — too fragile to survive the violent deceleration. A broken neck. Internal trauma. Her spine likely severed. Quiet. Unseen. Instantaneous.
She hadn’t survived the catch.
She had died in it.
Tumblr media
The scream that left Shuri’s throat was primal —shredded by grief before it ever touched the air. It tore through the night sky.
Raw. Wounded. Animal.
She gathered Riri back into her arms, pulling her close, rocking her gently like a child.
“I had you!” Her voice cracked, shattered by disbelief. “You were in my arms—I had you!”
She didn’t notice the sirens in the distance. Didn’t hear the people screaming. Didn’t even feel the pulse of Namor disappearing back into the sky. There was no roar of vengeance. No vow of retaliation.
All she could feel was the unbearable stillness of Riri’s body in her arms. The silence of a future that had just collapsed around her.
“I saved you,” she sobbed in broken bursts, arms tightening around the girl she loved. “I saved you. I was in time. I was right there—”
But reality did not flinch. All the brilliance in the world couldn’t bend gravity or unbreak what had already shattered.
In that moment, she wasn’t the Black Panther.
She wasn’t the protector of Wakanda.
She wasn’t even the Princess.
She was just Shuri.
And she had just lost everything. Again.
Her father.
Her brother.
Her mother.
And now — Riri.
Riri, who told her “I love you” like she meant it. Who pushed her. Teased her. Believed in her. Riri, who danced barefoot in her lab and stole her clothes and played her music too loud. Riri, the girl who called her out before anyone else dared and never let her hide from the truth. Who challenged her tech, her ego, her grief — and somehow taught her how to laugh again through all of it.
Her love. Her light. Her joy. Her reason.
Gone.
Because even with all her genius, all her power, Shuri couldn’t rewrite the laws of physics.
She bowed her head, forehead resting against Riri’s, as if sorrow could bridge the distance death had drawn between them. Her tears dripped onto Riri’s skin like they could thaw it, but the cold didn’t lift.
And for the first time in a long time, Shuri let the pain collapse her. She wept. Not the composed tears of a queen. But the shattered sobs of a girl who had tried too hard to be strong for too long.
She sat in the middle of the cracked pavement, grief heavier than gravity as she cradled Riri Williams in her arms, whispering broken apologies to a heart that would never beat again.
Tumblr media
The headlines spoke of a “terrorist attack” in downtown Chicago. Damage to infrastructure. Dozens of injuries. Unconfirmed sightings of a “flying man” and an unidentified “black-armored vigilante.”
There were no names. No monuments.
Only silence.
In Wakanda, deep in the palace’s underground labs, Shuri stood alone, clad in a rumpled MIT hoodie that still smelled like Riri.
No one dared enter.
Not Okoye. Not M’Baku. Not Aneka.
Years ago, in a different time and place — perhaps even in another life — her mother, Queen Ramonda, had once told her daughter to hold the world without letting it crush her.
But now, the world had fallen. And Shuri had caught it.
Only to lose everything she loved in the process.
And high above Wakanda’s skyline, every night, she looked to the stars. Not for comfort.
But for a girl who once fell like one.
And never rose again.

ironheart has so much queer subtext that goes unnoticed. why did natalie casually say she used to sing love songs with riri in gary’s car? out of all songs to represent them they go with 03 BONNIE AND CLYDE BY BEYONCÉ AND JAYZ?? LMFAO???
nat saying riri would sing jay’s parts of the song specifically is especially crazy. even if I’m potentially wrong how else am i supposed to interpret that 😭 they were calling each other boyfriend and girlfriend.

HAVEN’T SHE BEEN THROUGH ENOUGH☹️?!
I just realized that N.A.T.A.L.I.E.’s first words ever were, “Riri, time to wake up, love.” and her last words ever were, “I love you, Ri.” 🥲

thank you i needed this🙂‍↕️!
Random knightess!riri headcannons
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
sypnosis: based off a fic i was going to make❤️‍🩹
⚠︎: princess!reader, small age gap, Riri is mean + reader is a lil annoying, made up country, medieval period, a lil suggestive, !amateur writing!
Tumblr media
⚔︎ Knight!Riri is strict, stubborn & arrogant. And she's proud to admit it, never afraid to showcase her skills or set someone– even of higher status, straight.
She might not be the strongest but in her opinion there's a long history behind her theory that her technique will carry her further then thier brawn.
Which is exactly why she was handpicked by your father to train the newer errants who don't know what their place is in the battle. Alot of the recruits are loudmouthed freshfaced men whom always tried to underwhelm her power and that just so happened to be her favorite type to humble.
⚔︎ Knight!Riri is just about the same age as most of the initiates she works with and the ones who dont look down on her, try to take advantage of that fact thinking they'll find a soft side to her but no matter the intention she's quick to shut them down and it's cruel how she crushes their spirit but she's a firm believer that if you came here for anything if not to serve than this is not the place for you.
Poor trainees get shut down swiftly and curt, even if it means they'll revert to hating her in the end.
⚔︎ Knight!Riri is exceptionally proud of her well–kept stead.
Though, a well groomed horse is not the most important thing for a grandmaster to be worried about, it's something about her horse standing out from the rest in every factor from the copper red tinted hooves to it's wavy silk like mane she brushed throughout the day, so smooth that even the finest tooth comb would slip through knotfree, that makes pride swell in her chest. She likes to spend any extra free-time taking good care of her ride before anything else.
⚔︎ Knight!Riri doesn't come to make friends but she sure to show respect to all who work in the district under, above and anything inbetween the kingdom.
They are her peers after all.
⚔︎ Knight!Riri who reluctantly still guards the inner kingdom when threats are made or a battle has just been concluded. She believes she is best at use on the field, making a plan and giving commands but she can see the point in how keeping the power, her, where the most precious of jewels to the royal family lie, would be beneficial.
You always hated it because she would purposely guard around your quaters. She's chevalier, been in battle countless times before so why does your father order her here?
⚔︎ Knight!Riri ticks you off to the highest amount.
But you were nary the difference for her, you called her riri instead of her full name, Riana, knowing she didn't like it..while she makes it her personal mission to put you in her place– well as respectfully she could considering her own placement.
She's the worst kind of bossy in your opinion. It's like she never let's you breathe, always has a smug "I think you know better than to try that again." when you're doing something that you're not supposed to but in your opinion she's nobody to be able to guide you. Who does she think she is? The whole cotillion board? You stop in your tracks before turning a sharp 180. Brows furrowed and gown pinched between your pointer & thumb as your marched it over to her to tell her off; most of what you say goes in one ear and out the other but it really made her day to see you try n' insult her because it just wasn't in your fancy ass blood.
⚔︎ Knight!Riri might mock you but she does not entertain the tantrums you love to throw. Especially when you shove or push taking advantage of the fact that she's sworn to never hit you back..which is something you'd think a princess would be above but not your spoiled self.
It makes her sick to think about how ill–behaved you are, she'd be sure to ease it into a conversation the next time she catches up with the king.
⚔︎ Knight!Riri doesnt think a princess has to be meek or dependent but in your case submission, etiquette, and gratitude toward your elders & servicemen would do some good.
⚔︎ Knight!Riri who confronts your father and is surprised the usually froward king agrees with her ; that you need to be teached obedience & discipline. Your mouth was a nonstop chatter box, spitting out any annoying or disrespectful rhetoric that'd been eating away at you.
You were disgracing your families values and Riri couldn't stand to see it no longer. It's about time someone shut you up.
What ⚔︎ Knight!Riri didn't expect was for daddy dearest to appoint her as said teacher..
⚔︎ Knight!Riri who's normally stoic expression is replaced with one of distress. The king only lifts a shrubby brow as the silence passes.
she accepts but it's not as if there was much of a choice.
⚔︎ Knight!Riri gets very pouty & mopey the next day while choosing a substitute for her errants despite that being the number one peeve she had about you... How hypocritical.
⚔︎ Knight!Riri learns the hard way that you'd been made aware of the arrangement while making her rounds past your corridor.
She’d made a whole schedule; day 1: obedience, day 2: respect, day 3: selflessness and so on. Each day a different lesson that would install skills Riri figured would help you but the only thing you did was turn your head up at her, ready with an argument to everything she said even if it made sense.
On day 4 ⚔︎ Knight!Riri is taken over a point of no return with all your acting out.
You'd locked your door, and from the jingling that followed everytime she tried to push in, you set the latch too.
She huffs, "I will not ask again, Princess."
You giggle, making quick work to unlock the window and sliding out as best you could. You pushed yourself up off the stern wooden desk that'd just been built for you.
"If I come in there and get you, there'll be real consequences." Riri tries to remain calm but you were really pushing it, once again. Like you always do.
You slam the window down so hard the frame shakes but you didn't have time to care, she sounded serious and you didn’t want to be around to deal with it.
Once off the roof, you managed to escape down the emergency ladder but your outside slippers made the climb feel dangerous.
Riri nods, "So fucking be it.", she turns around and walks a few feet away before taking a deep breath in. If you wanted to play like this why should she be fair?
Thats exactly how one of your doors laid flat in your room, the screws busted and the wood cracked from where she'd kicked it.
Riri shakes her head, boiling at how outrageous you were. She scoures your room, looking under your bed, in your closet and ironically knocking on your bathroom door before opening.
⚔︎ Knight!Riri can faintly make out whistling of some sort, her head snaps up and she draws together it was from a cracked window, the wind blowing through the small curves making the sound.
When she stands directly under, her eyes catch the specks of dirt on your wooden desk and she can connect the dots.
⚔︎ Knight!Riri followed behind every loose end you made, the muddy track of your slippers, the fabric of your dress that got caught by a thorn bush as you tried to rush pass but most importantly the humming nearing the entrance of the town.
She speeds up, darting for your figure just as you’d stepped into the street.
Your presence is noticed upon breach. Fortunately, the only person looking your way happened to be a very small girl, a lollipop the size of her head in one hand as she held tightly to her mamas hand.
You smile, how adorable she was, and wave. The girls eyes nearly pop out her skull when she realizes why you looked so familiar, she tugs on her mother’s arm and points in your direction with her sucker.
Your body feels like it's been hit with your daddys biggest carriage as your brought to your knees in the tall grass beside where you were originally standing.
You knew exactly who it was when you seen the tight black shirt she wears under her armour. You groan, "How dare you? Get off me THIS INS–"
“Shh, shhh, shut up!”, Riris voice whispers aggressively to you. Despite the fire roaring in her to teach you a lesson then and there, she remains careful with your body as she crouched.
You make a sound of frustration, struggling and squirming in her arms, you demanded, “Riri! Riri, let me—“
She presses her hand tighter to your mouth, “I said be quiet.” In your true ignorant fashion, you tried to fight her off but her hold is solid, you weren’t moving unless she wanted you too.
You grow tired quickly, she wins this time.
⚔︎ Knight!Riri is surprised you don’t try to escape again on the walk back but her guard remains up.
Your heart dips, unable to fathom why you decided to listen to her but continuing to walk in front of her with your head held down in shame, nonetheless.
Riri lectures you in a cold tone, scolding you for being wreckless and leaving burns as she digged at you for how dangerous climbing off a roof was. You knew you deserved it but, the embarrassment of being caught eventually catches up to you.
“Do you wish to be robbed? Kidnapped? Taken for ransom? Why? You did all of that just to get under my skin?” She’s furious and you can hear the venom regurgitating from all the stress you were causing.
You shrug. A tear falls, then two. You’re not sure what you were thinking, you just wanted to see if she would actually be able to find you. You sniffle and the sound alerts Riri. She cringes and stops in place, her hand grabbing your arm to stop you as well.
“Speak.” She encourages anyway.
You roll your eyes and dab your cheeks with the cloth of your dirty gown. Your mind a mess but the only thing you ask is, “Ah-Are you going to tell my father? Is that my punishment?”
Riri pretends to think as your sad eyes laid upon her, “Yes. I think I will..”
"Besides it's only right he knows what you've been upto, since you claim he gave his word for you to go out.." She throws your lie back in your face and watches how your frown deepens, settles even.
You weep louder, face in your hands as you ugly cried and she smirks, “But...After you fix your door, sweep your room and that window..”
“I may change my mind, who’s really to say what I’ll tell him?”
Your lip trembles, “What?! M-my door?”
Riri only smirks and puts her hand to your back. For some reason it leaves the skin there tingling, you blush but try to shake it off, “Keep going, almost there.” She soothes.
⚔︎ Knight!Riri is able to sneak you both back up and helps you patch the little bruises and carpet burns you had on your calves and forearms. You have to act like your face isnt getting hot and unbearable from your own embarrassment.
⚔︎ Knight!riri supervises as you bent down to start working on the door. After she snuck you back in she made you put on stocks and worker pants, preaching on and on about how, “This will teach you that every action has consequences..” and that “..you should think before you act..” , shall there be a next time.
You hold your tongue even though she was starting to work your last nerve, this was supposed to be your replacement for an actual apology but she made every second unbearable.
⚔︎ Knight!Riri makes you use your manners when you need help, she’ll see you struggling but won’t engage unless you ask politely.
“Riri could you hold this handle down?” You ask while holding the bolt into the hole.
She looks down at you then turns away like she didn’t hear a thing.
You huff and push your fallen coils back behind your ear, “Riri, could you please help me screw these bolts in?”
Her lips curve up into a smirk, “Of course, princess.”
You bite your lip at the honorific, hiding your face as heat rushed to your cheeks. She kneels directly infront of you, doing as you asked.
Riri rambles on about the stupid lesson, you did not care; becoming more focused on how the veins in her hand popped when she squeezed the screwdriver, how the muscles in her arms tensed and bulged with every twist.
After the first one is done, Riri turns to you and she notices your staring. Her brows furrow as she moves her hands away, your eyes follow, she clears her throat and you shuffle to sit up straight again.
"Oh." You'd squeaked, getting a new handle, bolt and holding them down.
She pauses, "What do we say?"
"Please, help me again..?" you spoke dryly. Riri nods, quick to pick the tool back up.
⚔︎ Knight!Riri is impressed with the progress you've made, even if it was futile compared to where she thought it'd be by now.
The next morning while she trained, she thought about how your little breakdown in the garden might've been all the punishment you needed.
She also comes to the conclusion that the source for all these outburst was caused by a lack of attention. Everything was slowly coming together and now that she knew the problem, she could help more accurately.
Riri finishes the rest of her fencing and upper body reps before heading to your room.
Meanwhile ❀ Princess!Y/n hadn't been able to stop thinking about Riri or her small touches, the whole night you wondered deeply why, after all the fuss that happened the day before, was Riri and her stupid smirk the only thing you could focus on...

seen the most baffling post on ironheart about the whole mephisto reveal. saying how it feels off, doesn’t really go with the story, and how no one will remember it because of the show itself.
i ain’t gon say too much because that’s just another one of the manyyy BITTER marvel weirdo racist misogynist haters and yes all of y’all can choke on riri’s iron fist!
but to those who feel that way…honestly watch the show or don’t. hate the character and her story arc or go cry to your mama about it. feel how you want about whatever honestly just know this…marvel don’t just make mistakes or accidents. they are secretive and very precise about the context they put out, good or bad every plot lines and characters are for a REASON. so to have marvel whose honestly been hinting mephisto since wandavision no matter how much we wanted it then, they waited until IRONHEART to showcase him when the people were just giving up on that theory of him joining the mcu. i guarantee they won’t regret how and when they did bring him into everything. plus if you watched the damn show you would understand literally…
shit on ironheart all you want, but his reveal in this show will forever keep riri’s character and story in the conversation when they discuss the mcu and its upcoming villains. for me if that’s all it takes to be recognized and stay in the conversation for the mcu going further, then it’ll be enough.

𖤓 cusses out all her animals and chases them with a tractor NONE OF THEM ARE SAFE.
“Get yo ass in the damn coop, Bella.”
“I ain’t playing wit’ yall today.”
𖤓 her skin is warm like unbelievably warm and she’s got a tan that she’s not embarassed about.
𖤓 she smells like the sunscreen you force her to wear mixed with something floral.
𖤓 HAPPY TRAIL CITYYYYYYYYYY, she usually shaves clean but ever since you asked her to stop, she doesnt mind keeping the hair.
𖤓 see now she’s already toned in Ironheart, HOWEVER, she’s more toned here. With all the animals she takes care of and the farm work she does, she’s leaner. Her quads, triceps and lower back got more definition to them.
𖤓 Her voice is smooth, she has a nice drawl to it especially when she’s half asleep or irritating.
𖤓 You absolutely laugh in her face when the two of are talking because you have no idea what she’s saying.
“You laughin’?”
You gon hop in the car?” She says it like straight -kah instead of car and you can’t take her serious.
𖤓 idc she’s submissive like 60 percent of the time. She does all that work during the day. She just wants to be taken care of.
𖤓 has a choking kink I fear. She’ll absolutely let you straddle her while she begs. She’ll dead ass let you kiss her ear while you have a hand wrapped around her throat.
𖤓 Just because you’re her girl doesn’t mean you’re exempt from chores.
“You gon wash the horses today.”
“Go’head n feed the pigs for me, mama.”
𖤓 Sometimes in overalls especially when she’s in the barn. You think it’s the most attractive thing ever.
𖤓 She has a smoking habit, not often but sometimes you’ll find her on her worn leather couch, manspread with low eyes and a blunt between her lips.
𖤓 She 5 feet tall but she’s more strong than she looks. She’ll pick up animals with ease and wrangle sheep to shave em.
𖤓 She’s used to southern cuisine so when you try to cook other shit she feels like you’ve poisoned her.
“Hey baby, I made [insert dish she’s never had before]
The fuck- I mean…that’s nice, baby….you ain’t got no greens or nun?”
𖤓 She’s making you ride her horse.
“Up ya go, cmon now get on the saddle.”
𖤓 always flirts with you even though yall been together for years.
𖤓 def takes her cowgirl hat off n puts it on you when you’re straddling her.
𖤓 She chops wood and you watch, ugh you have to do it 40 percent of time cause she gets tired of swinging and shit.
𖤓 She has so much oversized flannel.
𖤓 sometimes she walks around the house in oversized linen and nothing else OR a tight white Henley and Lacey panties to match.
𖤓 She has locs thank you cause ain’t no braiding shops near her.
𖤓 in the morning, she tends to have her face tucked into your neck and she’s mumbling about farm chores and shit to do for the day.
𖤓 At night she’s in a loose sweater and plaid pants, sitting outside on the porch and drinking some loose leaf tea.
𖤓 you’ve absolutely 110 percent fucked in that barn don’t ask questions.
𖤓 most days on the farm, all she’s got is sunscreen; some lip gloss on and hickeys all over her neck and sternum.
𖤓 gets second hand embarrassment when she’s caught of guard and one of the farm animals makes her trip or slip.
“I saw that,”
“You ain’t seen shit.”
𖤓 Always comes back in the house w mud on her boots and her toned forearms showing cause she pulled her sleeves up.
𖤓 you genuinely always give her the best head of her life and it puts her straight to sleep.
𖤓 she’s so cute, sometimes she just makes you flower crowns.
𖤓 spends NIGHTS teaching you line dances. You only go because you know both men and women THROW themselves at her.
you’re convinced it’s because of the flared jeans + crop top combo she wears
“imma have to ask y’to lock in, now. I signed us up for the competition on July.”
“You did what now????”
𖤓 she’s fallen asleep while working more times than you can count. Sometimes you’ll walk outside and find her in a stack of hay, hat covering her face, white tight shirt riding up and legs crossed.
𖤓 she’s fallen off her horse more time than you can count.
𖤓 scolds you if you rip out her crops from the ground any way
𖤓 Sometimes you think she’s talking a sweet to you then you realize she’s talking to one of her animals.
𖤓 has a pair of timbs that she can’t and won’t let go of.
𖤓 when you talk she’s always says “uh huh,” not because she’s not paying attention but because she always doing something while you talking.
𖤓 when she’s thinking while she’s standing, she’s got both her hands in the back pockets of her jeans.
𖤓 in between chores she walks into the house and lays her head on your ass.
𖤓 she has callouses and you always take care of them and she always ends up kissing you as a thank you.
𖤓 every time you want new sex toys you gotta order that shit cause you live in the countryside and she lets you do all that shit.
“girl, where the harness f’this?”
“Riri, it’s double ended.”
“Huh?….oh….oh shit.”
𖤓 when she’s half asleep, she always finds herself with her back to your chest, your hands are travellin beneath her flannel and rubbing up on her chest. She’s all squirmy
𖤓 she participates in the contests in town.
“I bet’chu this pumpkin gon the contest win t’morrow night.”
𖤓 mind you the pumpkin is DEF not naturally grown and she added shit to it.
𖤓 she hollers your name from outside the damn house.
𖤓 Idc how capable she is she gets into bed after a good shower in a simple short and boy shorts and throws a leg over you and 100 percent expects you to cup her ass while she sleep.
𖤓 she can cook, ofc she can but she likes the way you make specific things.
“Baby, you think you could make that lemonade?”
and yes you make it. Every time.
okay I’m done now 😌

Just finished watching episode 6 of Ironheart and my poor girl Riri is getting the Matt Murdock treatment. Shit just keeps getting worse for her every episode (and she's responsible for most of it)
