Like a river flows surely to the sea
Darling so it goes
Some things are meant to be
Take my hand, take my whole life too
For I can’t help falling in love with you
For I can’t help falling in love with you

LONG PSA in case everyone is hating on NCW again (also a bit of a rant). I was at Con of Thrones. Not THAT panel, thankfully, or I might have burst into tears. But even at the panel I DID attend…Nikolaj is probably not going to say what we want him to for a LONG time. If he ever does. Not because he really agrees with Jaime’s ending. No one who loves Jaime could accept that ending and I KNOW he loved his character. But because he’s too NICE.
A fan asked him if he had a favorite director to work with on GoT. He answered honestly (David Nutter) and then seriously spent FIVE MINUTES backtracking/explaining so it didn’t seem offensive to any of the other directors he worked with. That’s who he is. He’s going to defend D&D because he sees them as people, not as the stupid writers who ruined almost every single character and storyline in the last 2 ½ episodes. And I can’t entirely blame him for that. I still think they should be held accountable for ruining the show (and do NOT agree that they cared 100% until the end, sorry NCW), but I understand where he’s coming from with his defense. I also think he’s become a bit of cast spokesperson, since he’s one of the bigger names who’s still going to cons and things so maybe not everything he’s saying is entirely his personal opinion (let me have my delusion).
I haven’t met that many celebrities in person, but seriously, he is probably the NICEST one I have ever met. I didn’t see a single fan walk away from him unhappy. The man knighted people for photos. The girl behind me had an Oathkeeper prop (and was also dressed as Brienne) and was letting people borrow it for knightings and Nikolaj asked personally if an additional person behind her could use it. There was an entire family who wanted to use it, but I think only the dad asked at first.
I know other celebrities do things like this too, but he was so genuine with EVERYONE who came through his line. The man saw my magazine, started to autograph it, and instantly started fretting that because it was shiny, the autograph wouldn’t stick. So he signed it not once, but TWICE, all while I stupidly stood there and assured him I would be careful with it and would blow on it. I also babbled at him about being the perfect Jaime and that he tried to be book Jaime even when he wasn’t always written that way and now regret it because of what he did say (I didn’t know about the Saturday panel at the time), but I still think it’s true and I wanted to tell him. Really hoping he took it the right way. It was supposed to be a COMPLIMENT.
So long story short. Nikolaj is AWESOME in person. Pay the $ to meet him if you can. He will not disappoint you. Don’t take everything he says to heart. And don’t hate him for sticking to his script most of the time. It’s his job.
And as an aside, I went to Con of Thrones searching for absolution. I wanted to be with people who loved Jaime. I wanted to see NCW. That was accomplished, but the absolution…outside sources can’t give me that. Only I can. I will never accept this as Jaime’s ending. Even if Martin DOES write the same damn thing (there’s NO WAY), I won’t accept it. But I CAN tell myself that I WAS NOT, nor will I ever be WRONG about Jaime Lannister. D&D were and are. Not me. Not the fandom. Those bozos who couldn’t write a gray, complex character to save their lives are forever WRONG. Jaime is who I believe him to be and for me, his story will always end before he leaves Brienne. Because my Jaime would never do that. So I will just pretend and I will be happy and maybe one day my love for Jaime Lannister will not pain me more than it did when he was just the man who slept with his sister and pushed a boy out a window and everyone looked at me like I had lost my mind when I said he was my favorite character. Because who he is to ME is what matters, not those nincompoops.
Rant over. PSA done. Seriously don’t hate NCW. He is wonderful.

Ramin Djawadi really said ‘fuck D&D rights’ and wrote “The White Book” as a whole ass Jaime/Brienne AU in the form of music… Confirmed. It’s official. A legend. We stay stanning one (1) composer.

Jaime and Brienne got married. It was officiated by Bryan Cogman and Ramin Djawadi. D&D were not invited. We don’t even know who they are. We just know they’re wedding crashers.

The 2019 Emmys ballot is out, and HBO has already penciled in a few Game of Thrones items for awards consideration this year. Instead of focusing on the stronger points of the eighth and final season, however, the cable network is hoping its much-maligned final episodes will earn another trophy for its shelf. Yes, really.
The season’s most critically acclaimed episodes of the season, “Winterfell” and “A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms,” have been completely overlooked in the writing and directing categories in favor of the ones that led fans to petition en masse for a complete rewrite and sparked widespread belief that the show’s finale may rank among the worst-ever TV conclusions.
Submitted for Best Directing for the season are Miguel Sapochnik for “The Long Night,” David Nutter for “The Last of the Starks,” and D.B. Weiss and David Benioff themselves for “The Iron Throne.” And instead of suggesting Dave Hill and/or Bryan Cogman get a look for Best Writing for those well-received initial episodes of the season, Weiss and Benioff’s script for “The Iron Throne” is the one they’re apparently banking on for that category.
As if Game of Thrones’ final bow didn’t give fans enough to complain about, now they’re showing us just how out of touch they are with audience perceptions with this severe oversight. Needless to say, the internet is reacting accordingly today in the wake of this news.

Do you ever just get emotional over brienne and jaime like…..I know everybody thinks that their otp is the best but like………It has it all - a slow burn, enemies to lovers trope, i-act-rude-but-oh-god-of-something bad-happens-to-you trope, have seen each other naked already, have pulled each other out of despair and death literally and figuratively, so different yet they are the same literal person….and I am just here trying to not die…..failing…

Wait, can you tell us more about Nick’s braime au play please???? I’m relatively new to the fandom and this is the first I’m hearing of it and I couldn’t find anything about it on their wikipedias
Basically Nikolaj wrote a play about a married couple I think? And he cast himself and Gwen in it of course lol
I don’t remember the details at all but it had Jaime and Brienne vibes, if someone wants to give receipts feel free to!

For anyone who needs to hear it:
Your late teens/20s are a weird time in your life. Don’t panic if you think somebody is more “ahead” than you. The concept of being ahead is nonexistent anyway because life’s not a race and each person has different hurdles to overcome.
It’s totally fine if you’re single. It’s fine if you’re still finishing school. It’s fine if you are still looking for a better job, or for any job at all. It’s fine if you haven’t had sex yet, or haven’t gotten your driver license yet. It’s fine if you haven’t gotten your own place yet. It’s fine if you are still figuring things out, saving money, putting the pieces together. It’s fine.
Don’t feel jealous of or lesser than people your age who have done these things. You don’t know what obstacles they faced to get there and they don’t know what you’ve faced. Don’t undermine the progess you have made.
Because, trust me, you have made progress. Even if it hasn’t materialized yet in the traditional way.
You are still young. Like really young.
You got time.
