i rarely write out specific crossover verses, since the canon arcs can pretty easily be adapted into most (modern) settings. also, i prefer to treat every interaction as its own unique verse—meaning that i like to plot the details out with my writing partners, usually in such a way that it incorporates elements of both of our muses’ stories.

ARC I.    canon compliant. the wolf is an assassin employed by the el saguaro cartel. although he primarily carries out hits against rival gang members and overzealous lawmen, he occasionally undertakes international contracts. he’s renowned for his efficiency, brutality, and flamboyance, and has never failed to complete a hit. the wolf cannot be bargained, bought, or reasoned with.

in this verse, the emphasis is on his career as a sicario. he can be contracted for hits or targeted as a mark himself. he may also have run-ins with the law.

ARC II.    canon compliant. following the mass-poisoning event that killed his wife, his boss, and the majority of the el saguaro cartel, the wolf spirals into self-destruction. in his grief, he turns to alcohol and fantasies of revenge against the assassin who took everything from him. unstable and driven by rage, he sets out on a quest for vengeance that leads him across the world as he tries to locate the elusive assassin: the hornet.

in this verse, the emphasis is on his journey to uncover the identity and location of the hornet. he may approach other assassins or criminal organizations for their intel.

ARC III.     canon divergent. after successfully completing his revenge and dispatching the hornet, the wolf faces a life without purpose. crime syndicates across mexico have shunned him for his failure to protect el saguaro from assassination. with his singular goal completed, he has no aspirations for the future. no desire to live beyond shunning the thought of suicide. the wolf continues to struggle with substance abuse and grief, and his reputation has been irreparably tarnished. in order to provide for himself, he accepts contracts that nobody else will touch.

in this verse, the emphasis is on his downfall in the aftermath of his vengeance. his credibility has been ruined, and his name no longer elicits any respect from fellow assassins.

CYBERPUNK 2077. on a tip that the merc who infiltrated his wedding came from night city, raúl leaves mexico for the nusa. he operates out of heywood and is loosely affiliated with the valentinos. as he attempts to uncover the identity of his wife’s killer, he supports himself through merc-work of his own—usually on behalf of sebastian ibarra. raúl has a target on his back and a bounty on his head, put there by the corporation involved in the cartel massacre. he knows this, but he does not let the threat of assassination sway him from his quest for vengeance.

the wolf was the most notorious assassin operating out of mexico — and no one seemed to know a single thing about him. not that he covered his tracks. ( he didn't. ) not that he didn't run his mouth over rounds of julio blanco. ( he did. ) there were even courtrooms full of files documenting his crimes. newspapers full of obituaries co-authored by his hand. but that didn't change the facts: that no one really knew the wolf — and that anyone who did was dead.

HEIGHT. 5´11, 180cm. EYES. black-brown. HAIR. tight, black curls. carefully maintained. FACIAL HAIR. heavy stubble or light beard. PIERCINGS. septum ( hoop, gold ), earlobes ( studs or small hoops, gold ). TATTOOS. venganza ( vengeance ) on his neck and throat. in truth, the wolf was lead by his passions and his promises. he was possessed by them. he followed his heart where others followed the money. he was hot-blooded rather than cold, and seemed to care a great deal about a great many things. but he spoke little and smiled less. he was temperamental. sentimental. and he was always frowning in a way that could fill even god's most pious priest with catholic guilt.

in truth, the wolf was a man. in truth, he was really no wolf at all. he was a killer, but he was a mourner, too. he was a fighter, but he was a lover, too. he was good with a gun — better with a knife — and best of all with his heart. he should have been a dreamer. a ponderer of great art. a romantic who bought flowers off of street vendors and dried them in poetry books. but he was not any of these things. he was a wolf — regardless of whether it was true or not.

DEFINING CHARACTERISTICS. RELIGIOUS. TEMPERAMENTAL. PERCEPTIVE. LOYAL. PASSIONATE. DETERMINED. RESOLUTE.

MODUS OPERANDI. brutal and hands-on, using a hunting knife or gun. attacks first and leaves no room for negotiation. always takes an article off the deceased; integrates some part of the victim's wardrobe into his own. hangs photos of his marks on the wall, surrounded by home altars and makeshift shrines. takes no pleasure in killing.
