Buying Guide to Sofas
One of the largest and most expensive furniture is the sofa. It is also one of the most used furniture in the home depending on where it is. Before you run off to the nearest furniture gallery, take some time to think about fundamental issues and come up with answers that will serve you well when on a couch to buy the mission. Do not get stuck with a big ticket item that does not fit the bill. The buying of sofas describes the basics of a couch, what to look for on your shopping expedition and questions to ask in the hunt for the perfect sofa.Sofa Basics: Most are made to order leaves the door wide open to exploring the possibilities. Look for sofas designed with quality and product integrity. A great variety of styles can boggle the mind, but when your style is pinpointed selection process will be smoother. Buying options can be as follows. Most companies offer so many choices that you may wish that there were fewer options. Some options are an assortment of paint colors for the legs and decorative wood. You can choose a pleated or ruffled skirt or no skirt at all. You can often choose bun feet or turned legs. There are sofas with rolled arms and no weapons. Backs are attached, semi-attached, or simply large pillows to sit loosely on the pillows. Choose from lots of styles, colors, patterns and textures to create a sofa that fits your lifestyle. Sofa Buying - frame: The frame of a sofa is the skeleton. Frames must be able to withstand a significant weight and use. Maple and oak provides durability and strength to the sofa frame and should be considered the best choices. Pine and spruce are softer and has no lasting quality in harder woods, but is still reliable as a sofa frame. Stay away from plywood, particle board, steel or plastic. Frames made of these products have a tendency to warp or crack and will not go the distance. If the bones are robust ability to have it reupholstered in the fabric is torn offers added value to purchase. Sofa Buying - woodworking: The couch is up says a lot about quality and its potential for a long life in your home. Look for the merge or the use of wooden plugs and screws of metal to fit the corners and joints together. If you find the nails that are not only decorative, walk. If you detect a hang tag that proclaims "corner blocks glued and screwed," you are in the presence of fine furniture craftsmanship. Sofa Buying - The Springs: The comfort of a sofa is based much on the pads and tires. The deck is the part that rests on the cushions. Rip off the cloth covering and you will find springs or coils. Well-made sofas usually include 8 way hand tied coils. Some companies use pre-assembled coil units or winding wire which is stapled or nailed to the frame. Sofa Buying - pads: pads is all about comfort. Filled with down pillows, while convenient, tipping scales to advanced and has a draw back. User tends to lose shape easily require frequent fullness. Foam wrapped in the user gives a similar feeling down but creates a more stable cushion. Other options for the cushions blown fiber, polyester fiberfill or polyurethane foam. In the case of sofa cushions, it is all about convenience and price. Sofa Buying - The FABRIC: Fabric plays a big role in how long upholstered furniture looking good. A fabric can look stylish on the couch but if it is not made to withstand bouncing children, it will age quickly. The fabric makes upholstered piece aesthetically pleasing, but take into account the location and what the sofa will be used. Tightly woven fabrics will hold up longer and take more abuse. Pull the fabric easy to try to give. If pilling disturb you stay away from material that lean towards pilling. Light colors show dirt and spills. Patterns can hide a myriad of accidents. In the end it is your unique taste that determines the fabric choices. Homework: Answer some basic questions about your life before you head off to the shops on a couch to buy excursion.1.What kind of life would you lead? Are you a couch potato who loves to spend hours watching movies? Like to entertain? Are you more active outdoors or inside? What are your hobbies? 2.What do with the couch? Is it a family room or living room rarely? 3.How many people in your family? Do you have children? Do you have pets? 4.What is your style? Contemporary, traditional, French country, minimalist, eclectic? 5th Would you like to lead a constructive life or not formally describe your lifestyle? 6.Pay close attention to how you sit on a couch. Do you prefer to sit "in" or "on" the couch? There is a difference. People who sit "in" a sofa tend to want to curl up in a corner with her feet tucked under them sinking into the cushions and back. Sitting "on" a sofa does just that. Feet touching the floor with a straighter back and basically sitting on the cushions are not in them. Notice how everyone in the family sitting on that couch before you buy. 7.How big is the room that is home to your new couch? This is the time to take accurate measurements. Measure the room. Measure the couch you currently own. Do not forget to measure the doors to the room. If you can not get on the couch inside the once purchased you are out a lot money.8.Go online checkout the websites of various furniture companies to take advantage of the sofa before heading to the gallery. 9.Toss in your purse or pocket, a small tape measure, a small notebook that you wrote down the measurements, and a pen.Getting to the point: Ask for a catalog. Look around. Seriously look at every sofa in the display regardless of what store you shop in. Be prepared to ask the sales associates or designers lots of questions. Take out notebook and pen to jot down notes. Do not be swayed by the fabrics or colors, remember that you can select the fabric you want on the style you choose. Kicking the Tires: Now is the time to be proactive and put all the information gathered so far to good use. It is time to take a couple of couches for a spin. 1.Press arm of the sofa. Can you feel the part by suppression? If you can, go ahead. 2.A well-built frame is heavy. Try lifting a corner of the sofa. If it is too easy to lift the frame will not hold up for long.3.Lift a front leg of the sofa. Can you lift it higher than an inch? If you can, have been under too much flex and is probably weak. Go ahead. 4.Stand about 3 feet back from the furniture and with a critical eye to give the couch a comprehensive look. Check piping. If there is a pattern allows piping match or coordinate with the rest of the outfit. Do you see the creases and wrinkles or pulls? If the chair is a stripe, make stripes on the seat cushions adjust to the back? If a larger pattern of a flower has been used effectively been dressed in an attractive manner? All these little details give you clues as to the quality of workmanship. 5.Take a good look at pillows. The cushions should fit and close together. Remove a pillow and give the deck a good press. The tire should not have too much to give. Think about how you want a mattress to feel. 6.The final test is actually sitting in it. Chair so that you would at home. If you prefer to sit on a couch then put you into a corner after taking off your shoes, and give it a good go. Lie on the couch for several minutes to get a real feel for it. Wiggle, squirm and get up only to sit down again. Sofa buying is expensive business, make it feel like you want it to 7.Go home and take with you all the information you have collected .. Using masking tape or blue painting tape out line the size of the new sofa. Does it fit? Is the size of the couch in relation to the room attractive? 8.Love it! If you do not love it do not buy it. This is a big ticket item that you will live with for many years, did not even consider buying it unless you really love it. The sale is in the details: ask questions. Ask lots of questions. You are about to make a big decision to buy a sofa. Question of cushion options. Ask the salesperson to explain the design of the sofa, including the materials used. Is there a guarantee? What about maintenance and cleaning? Does it come with arm covers? Is it scotch guarded to protect the fabric? Do they have swatches you can take home to give you an idea of how it will look at home? If you are not sure that it will enter through a doorway, they have a supply was available to check it for you? Do they deliver? How much does shipping cost? What is the approximate time of delivery? If a problem should arise, it is a return policy? Do they have someone who can take care of small scratches or cracks that occur during the birth? Ask questions until your satisfied that you have collected all necessary information to make informed consumer decisions. Buying a sofa takes time. Follow this takeover of sofas to give you a heads up in regards to what to look for and what to ask. A sofa is a piece of furniture from the upper part of the spectrum. Expect to spend time shopping on until you fall in love so after the purchase will be no regrets, only great comfort and beautiful living

Toys Your 0-12 months of age can enjoy this Christmas for less than $ 10.00
Toys 0-12 months of age can enjoy this Christmas for less than $ 10.00.I did some research of my own list and here are some toys good for babies who are under 12 months of age and who can be purchased for less than 10.00. From my own experience of being a mother of five children, yet can never go wrong with a book or a soft rattle for children so always remember. Babies love to make noise, but parents usually always thanks for the LOL. Just remember when buying toys for a baby to really look to see how a whole. If parts can detach, most likely the baby will drown, as they lead to mouth. Toys from dollar stores are really cheap, but not always done the right way so be sure to find what you are really buying for a baby. Now here's my short list of recommendations. Enjoy Sesame Street: Baby Purseby: Fisher-PriceThis one goes to 9.99 at Toys R Us. You do not want to give this to a child younger than 12 months. The bag includes a lipstick, cell phone, keychain, wallet and a comb with a heart shaped handle. You can not go wrong with Sesame Street characters. This is definitely for your child. Price Grabber followed and could not find the toy anywhere else on the site. The bags are sold on Amazon, but for about five dollars. There were about two available on Ebay for less than 3.00 not including shipping and were used. Lamaze: Grip and Grab Rattle - Phase 2 This is going from 9.34 at Toys R Us. It's good for ages 3-18 MTHS. Boys and girls will love this since chopped fresh colors and sounds. If your baby can hold objects with both hands is probably going to love it. Baby's First BlocksIn my opinion, all babies should have this toy. Since I was little (and I have 36 now), they have been complacent big baby. The age here is 6mths-3 years. Toys R Us has this available for 9.99 with free standard shipping. Fisher-Price 6 Roll-A-Price has RoundsFisher these 6 Roll-A-Rounds toys. They have some different ones. They all do something different. One is called Listen-Up Rounds and one is used to develop baby's senses. One is called Touch & Tickle Rounds, another is called Look-A-Rounds, and another is called Rounds Zippin Zoo. All of them are sold at Toys R Us to 7.99, all are available with free standard shipping now. They are for ages 6mths to 3 years. Other Sounds Hammerby: Little TikesThis one is great for children too. The hammer has lights and sounds. For 8 different sounds. The tip of the falls is safe for children to chew on if necessary. It features a textured grip. This is recommended for ages 6mths-3 years. The hammer comes with two AA batteries. Available at Toys R Us of 7.99 with standard free shipping at this time. My nephew has it and loves it! My daughter plays with it when we go to her house and she is 2. There are also some of these available on Ebay from about 4.00 excluding shipping.Learning Popupby Friends: LeapFrogThis is one of those toys that never age pop. They have been around for ages and probably always will be around. This is a pig, a frog and the other two animals look like they might be squirrels. They have different shapes and colors and the alphabet is in the toy. Sold at Toys R Us of 9.99 at this time. There are two opinions about the Toys R Us web site and each of them give a very good review. The age recommendation is 9mths-3 years.Fun teething BlankieTS Children This is offered at KB Toys. We are selling for 4.99. The recommended age is from 0-12 MTHS. This is a small blanket with three edges that have areas of teething baby. It's a great concept just always remember that not leave child unattended with the blanket. Babies have a tendency to drown so please watch RattlesThese carefully.Wrist rattles can get almost any time and usually run between 4.00 to 10.00 depending on which is exactly what you want and what store that in KB Toys has some on their website that are 4.99 and shake the monkey and elephant wrist. The age recommendation is 0-9 MTHS.

Beware of Fraud in Internet cafes when traveling
On a trip recently, I had a sudden shock to the ATM. Due to insufficient funds, the bank would not allow me to withdraw money. I went to another store and I tried my ATM card again. Again it was rejected. Now I was worried. Some ATMs seemed to have problems with my credit card, but I've never been rejected by two banks in a row. And when third ATM would not spend money, I knew something was seriously wrong. I returned to the hotel where I stayed and used their computer to log onto my bank's website. From there I could access my accounts, and I discovered that my bank account had been siphoned dry. I sat there, almost stunned to see the screen. I was in the middle of Patagonia, and had been defrauded. I still had several weeks of vacation left - how could I get in? And how could I return to the United States? How is it? After getting my breath, I started thinking. I reviewed my account history and put some pieces together. I quickly realized how my account information was stolen. A few weeks before I made a transaction through PayPal. I had done this in a cybercafe, on a computer that must have had a keylogger program installed. My passwords were stolen and my PayPal account has been accessed by others. Worst of all, my PayPal account is directly linked to my bank account, and the author had just emptied my bank account in my own PayPal account, then sent the money to himself. The first thing I did was to notify my bank that there was an unauthorized withdrawal from my checking account. Again the computer of the hotel, I looked at my banking site. The site has a toll free number to call for account services, and most importantly, a list of dialing instructions for each country in the world. I quickly looked at the instructions for Argentina and with that, "24" my bank fraud department hour. Although the money had already been directly taken from my account, which allowed me to place an order for payment on all future transactions. I also received a confirmation number for my situation, so that in the future, I had proof that I had taken swift action. The second step I took was to inform PayPal that unauthorized transaction had gone through my account. What I have done through their website. After notifying the company by e-mail, I called their hotline to speak with a representative of the company. They noted my account and also gave me a number of cases, so I can refer them to my situation quickly. I have received pledges from both PayPal and my bank that the matter would be investigated, but I had a heavy heart that my case would disappear into the depths of a file of fraud. Third, I changed the passwords on each account that I consulted when I was traveling. I did hope that the computer of the hotel was less likely to be infected with spyware that could steal my password. Hence one of the employees in my hotel has agreed to act as a translator and two of us went to the local police station to make a report. While local police rarely experience crime on the Internet, I felt it was important to make a statement and obtain an official copy of the authorities. Having notified both PayPal and my bank, changed all my passwords, and obtained a statement from the authorities, I felt I had done my best abroad. While the rest of my trip was crimped, with the generosity of my fellow travelers, I managed to eat and keep a roof over my head until I could fly to the States. And when I got home, I discovered that PayPal has kept his word and reversed the transactions that took place in my account. I was incredibly lucky. More than a thousand dollars has disappeared, and then returned. In considering this case of fraud, I realized many things. First, it is not a good idea to directly link your bank accounts to other sites. Second, if you make transactions online, it is essential that the computer you are using is secure. Most Internet cafes are not secure and administrators often do not keep their computers free of spyware. A simple test is to see if you can download and install a program on your computer in an internet cafe. If the installation is successful and the administrator does not raise an eyebrow, then the computer is not secure. Best of all is to avoid transactions that involve passwords, bank account or credit card numbers, especially when you're in an internet cafe. And if you are a victim of fraud, so be sure to sound the alarm as soon as possible. If everything goes wrong, make sure you have a backup credit card linked to a separate account as an emergency fund. While I was traveling, I often beat all of these rules. I checked my bank account many times, tracking my money spent and the exchange rate I was going. I never thought naively that such information could easily be used in a scam. I learned that fraud can occur anywhere in the world, even when you're on vacation. Caution and common sense when using public computers may prevent online theft to occur first, and swift action can limit the damage in case you're a victim of fraud.

1000 Oceans Tori Amos Music Video: Art of Empathy
As an avid Tori Amos fan, I confess often her genius to friends, relatives, colleagues and anyone who will listen. But I'm the first to admit that her brilliant songwriting, live to the world of personal symbols, it is not clearly captured in her music videos. As Tori Amos eschews conventional MTV artist status, she is usually successful without the hype of the video medium. Whether it is due to a bad election of directors or her songs opposition to visual cementation has Tori music videos were typically disappointing. The exception is "1000 Oceans", a song from the double album to Venus and back. Erick Ifergan, director, took one of Tori's more accessible tracks and created a visual statement about human empathy. A great assembly of people's reactions in a glass case installation, it is "1000 Oceans" video sly and nuanced. The video follows Tori character encased in a solid glass booth in the middle of a nondescript urban street scene. Although my inclination is that the name Chicago as a backdrop, is the specific location largely irrelevant. The viewer only needs to understand that there is a diverse city with enough passersby to stop and interact with the glass pane while others pass by obliviously. Dressed in a black dress, Tori is in this museum-like cases in the course of a day. The black dress is not just grief but also suggests a white wedding was black. In keeping with the song's simple lyrics about love and loss raises dress feelings of both Union (marriage) and separation (departure, death). While supine and motionless at the points moved Tori figure also around the box. She is installed in the city as a living sculpture. A short procession of nuns. A riot-instigating it. A NONPLUSSED senior. A goth-inspired spa girl things short with her boyfriend. An overweight whore in a leopard teddy. These are some of the notable passers who stay one to interact with the glass box. At one time, the video is bizarre and realistic, which serves as a metaphor for our human reactions to other people. Strangers as we have no connection other than humanity can be many answers (including ignorance of our existence), but anyone who stops for even a second to evaluate our presence - on the street, in a shop, on a bus, at a coffee shop - will have a clear response in us. They see the context for our lives: we exist as a living art. We are our own movement takes on the human condition, and people use it with varying degrees of awareness. In the case of "1000 Oceans", the Tori figure is emoting, are in a public place where city residents can choose to see her or ignore her. The passers-by who see her appear confused, amused, curious, contemptuous, surprised, shameful, disinterested, critical, taunting and likeable. This series of human responses to the enclosed figure is fascinating, but not unreasonable. I think particularly reflective glass was a purposeful director elections. We can see through the glass, although it is available as an obstacle - and in some cases, we are accustomed to see reflections of ourselves in the glass. Ultimately, it is not what happens when we experience an emotional or intellectual reaction to the stimulus of another person? Our answer to the second reflects our response to ourselves. A city is thus a museum of human contacts, missed and made. Near the end of the video, stay for a family on the glass pane. A mother, father, son and daughter into the picture. They look like an American family on their way to or from church, neatly dressed with bright, warm colors. It is clear that they have a specific answer to Tori figure, and director elections reflect this. . Unlike all the previous passers seem family represent a broader human family balanced in age and sex, are the parents and children - and providers. Their skin marks them in our society as "black" in a way that differs from, but similar, how Tori thought is characterized by her black dress of mourning and loss. Her pink lipstick matched her father's shirt and echoed in his son's lips. And the use of an American family are calling the associations of travel over the oceans (during slavery) when people were separated tragically. These visual cues set the tone for the relations of humanity. The family's view of Tori figure is slow. Illuminated by a street lamp at night, faces glow in their eyes and are quite recognizable: human empathy. There is a respect, a knowing homage and a warmth that makes their response richer than everyone else. At the tip of the video, emerges the sense of empathy as the ultimate human response to grief, sorrow, pain and loss. Now is touching and beautiful - and yet subtle, natural and sincere. It deepens the song by adding a new layer of understanding, and that is what a good video should do. Kudos to Tori Amos for the song and Erick Ifergan for superb director's vision.
