Ok with the release of the new Cookie Odyssey update, I have LOTS of thoughts about it, a lot of them that I wish more people would talk about more.

Spoilers for Cookie Odyessy Days 1-5

First things first, this game really is pulling a GEAH season 2 with the “two people that work together to collect a very powerful object for a political leader because said political leader promised peace in the existing political conflict that exists but actually uses it to worsen it instead” plot, and honestly that’s very funny to me.

Second of all, the ideas I’ve seen surrounding what Madeleine’s reaction would be when he finds out the Republic’s true colors feel way too simplistic too me. The reactions I’ve seen so far are Madeleine basically being just like “Ugh I hate the Republic!!! I’m gonna run away with Espresso forever and live happily”. Madeleine’s moments in this event alone have shown just how much trust Madeleine has in the Crème Republic. It wasn’t just the place where he became Paladin of the Light, it’s the land of his own people, the land of his family. Madeleine figuring out that everything he knew and loved for as long as he was born was all a lie would be devastating. I believe he would live in this state of denial for a while until eventually he would have to be snapped out of it by Gingerbrave or most likely Espresso cookie.

As for Espresso though, all we know is that he has a huge respect and trust in the Republic because of their advancements in technology and science. Makes sense, all of his motives come from his love for coffee magic and plus he rejects his own personal health for it. I was actually gonna originally talk about how I wish they went more into depth on why Espresso cookie is so connected to coffee magic, but the more I talked about how far he would go for it, I realized how relatable that is. So now I suspect that Espresso is just mentally ill and his hyperfixation is coffee magic, but I mean who knows. But the end of the Day 5 is so interesting to me because this is the first time we see Espresso cookie be actually worried about going back to the Republic. He’s been praising the Republic for all this time, even before this event and yet we see him being scared about the Crème Republic. Does he secretly have a bad personal connection with the Republic? Bad family members from the past? Is he starting to realize the real risks of keeping the soul jam? Starting to realize how suspicious Clotted Cream is? I don’t know but I’m so excited for future updates with this story

Espresso: so recently I learnt the enderman language from Minecraft and I've been using it to write notes and leave them in the offices of light and latte magic users. Since they don't know what the language would be, they would thing it's a threatening message or a curse. But in reality, it simply says "your mom gay"

Tried to draw a fusion of red velvet and madeline but it wound up more madeline

I'm on a cookie run kick so you get fanart! It wound up more madeline though, I think I'd call him Lemon Velvet Cookie! I got tired part of the way through drawing him but figured someone might like it! Feel free to make your own versions or use said design for any ideas or something, Though I'd like to know if you did if possible and credit is nice. Any thoughts on how he would be? Probably still a paladin, Maybe in an au where the witches are good and not eating cookies, and the cookies of darkness still are trying to ursurp their power but to become witches themselves and take over? Definitely still has a cake hound :) (his little wingy things on his head are supposed to look like dog ears) Honestly my favorite part of this was the sword- (not going to lie i had a lot of trouble with the skin tone face/eyes/etc. im studying anatomy still hehe)

Does anyone else just find it hilarious that when espresso said he wanted to move here Madeline immediately acted like it's his problem and just was like *well fine i guess WE can move here*

As in, he just naturally assumed they'd stay together...

You might expect espresso to you know, recoil in horror or something at madeline deciding to follow him to where hes retiring to...unless... theyre cannonnically a couple for sure now!
