im so glad morgott is such a strong contender for Most Husbandable Man in Elden Ring because he's genuinely unconventional looking. like yes he's got a certain handsomeness that Those With Patrician Taste can see, but also he has qualities about his appearance that i think some people wouldn't have given the time of day until they became endeared to his backstory and character. so now we got a bunch of good taste-havers lookin at this bumpy-nosed, rough-skinned, horn-encrusted, sad abandoned puppy of a man like 'GOD i want him carnally your honor'. and i just think that's lovely

morgott is going to be the most inconsistently drawn character for me yet because of how few good references ive found/tried to make and better yet everyone else draws him slightly different each time because they likely have the same problem

but i could master godrick’s design so…. guess its back to the old man mines for me to git gud

You know what fucks me up a lil bit. morgott canonically commands the night's cavalry, and you find one instance of this boss in the consecreated snowfields area where they'll drop their armor, which says

Why does this say "were once led" in past tense? Did he lose control of them at some point? No.

It's because there's no way to get to the Snowfields without killing Morgott.

Honestly, it may not look bright for Burnsmithers fans. Despite 30+ years of people wanting them to hook up and to just be a couple despite the chemistry the show might actually ditch it for Michael who is the new boyfriend of Smithers. I am at an impasse. On one hand Smithers might get someone (else) who understands him, but on the other hand, 30+ years of lore and character/relationship building is going to be tossed out of the window. As someone who is queer myself along with others who looked at them as an item, something comparable to Marge and Homer over the decades, sometimes it feels like there is something on deaf ears here. Then again, I might just be so dramatic about this and nothing might not come of it at all. We might get something really good. I am unsure what this will mean for this blog updating anymore. We are an archival for both Burns and Smithers, but the entire Burnsmithers ship that has prevailed in queer culture for decades, so in a sense it’s historic to look at them and that in retrospect. I probably will still add occasional things to this blog even if Burnsmithers ceases to exist as honestly I have drawn distant from it thanks to the show’s reluctance for keeping at the status quo despite feeding us the crumbs that have persisted over the years. Pouring my heart out on researching them, researching queer culture, semiotics and icongraphy really put a new boot on my life in a dark time, it was really a way for me to distance myself from that. In a sense, this blog was an archival project of mine and a few others in the Simpsons community whom we shared together, and simply it was a sweet fleeting moment. Honestly, it kind of feels bittersweet; on one hand they became one of the most iconic are they or aren’t they queer couples of the decade, but on the other hand things change whether we like them or not.
