I enjoy taking pinhole pictures but it is so easy to get into a rut with it. Pinholistas, me included, seem to gravitate around a few central but limited themes such as cemeteries, ruined buildings, bridges, the lone tree and so on. The picture above attempts to add another dimension (double exposure) but it is still a picture of a ruin.
Of course the pinhole camera places some constraints on what is do-able, but in this next year I must try to break away from ‘pinhole clichés’.

I have the last edition which I liked. I wonder whether the next edition will be sufficiently different?

From Nic Salmon:
Modern Photography called it ‘an invaluable course in photographic aesthetics’ when the last edition was published and now a new edition of Paul Hill’s seminal book, Approaching Photography - revised extensively I believe - is in the pipeline.
It is being published by Bloomsbury Publishing. Watch this space…..
