My mind won’t stop thinking. It won’t stop yelling, screaming, and coming up with all of these ideas!... I don’t mind.

1,230 kidnappings are Family kidnappings. These occur to children who, at most times, never really know that they’ve been kidnapped. These kidnappings are most times a lot more humane than others, but can be just as dangerous. These are not cases that Police tend to prioritize because they believe that a parent wouldn’t hurt a child that they’ve gone so far to have. This is inaccurate. #civilrightslawyer #beaware #policereaction #missingteen #missingteens #missingkids #policeofficer #doyoucare #doyoucareenough #contrarytopopularbelief #recognition #civilrights https://www.instagram.com/p/BxP5Dw3gsQg/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=169bvmobmsltj

Too many people believe this. This is partly the reason why Acquaintance Kidnappings occur. People believe they can trust their ‘friends’ to watch after their children and never suspect them to cause any harm. Acquaintance kidnappings almost always end in murder. 74% of acquaintance kidnappings end with victims being murdered within the first 3 hours. Acquaintance kidnappings is the most dangerous type of kidnapping. #beaware #kidnapping #teenabductions #teenabduction #abductionawareness #hidden #raisingawareness #kidnappingawareness #contrarytopopularbelief https://www.instagram.com/p/BxNWAHUA7Fs/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=wnxz7ms93d3m

You said you were mad that a wrinkle in time had no dark skin characters and when people brought up Oprah you said you meant the main girl. So did you mean your mad that the main character is light skin? Like I agree that it would be awesome if they’d cast a dark skin girl, but something about the way you said that just rubbed me the wrong way. My lil sister(13) is dark skin and she’s geeked about a wrinkle in time, but should she only watch movies with darker skin leads?
I’m not saying she can’t geek about it. If she is happy about it, it’s fine.
But just because your sister is happy about it, doesn’t mean she can represent other little dark skinned girls. Dark skinned black girls have to grow up seeing themselves as the bad guy, the loud one, the ghetto friend, in comparison to their pretty, light skinned friend. Dark skinned girls have to grow up being the side kick and being the stereotypical black girl, while their light skinned friend is pretty, smart and well spoken. Your sister may not notice this, and not every dark little girl will, but a lot do notice and it hurts .I noticed and i realize others notice.
I’m kind of tired of dark little girls having to see darker women or girls being second rate, and portrayed poorly in comparison to their light skinned friend. Society already prefers light skinned black girls.
Dark skinned girls learn early on that they are victims of colorism, and that society percieves them differently than their lighter skin counter parts.
It may not affect your sister, and if she or any other black girl wants to watch Wrinkle in Time, then go for it.
But your sister’s experience isn’t going to speak for dark skinned little girls who are waiting to see themselves positively represented in a big franchise. Don’t think it will.
Sorry if my post or this ask offends you but I’m not taking back what i said back because dark skin girls need representation. If the affects of colorism don’t hit them now , they’ll hit them later.

😶😶😶
I can’t stop constantly narrating my own life. At that very moment, I feared I had divulged too much.
