Have you seen Nojima’s tweet from a few days ago saying how before, they have freedom to make corrections and additions to a script right until the last minute but now, once the mocap and voice recording are done then it’s too late? I wonder why he tweeted that.

Although it's also not true. He made them mocap Tifa's resolution again, so there's still some leeway if it really matters to them.

They've alwayd said that. They claim cc is a recon and that she met Cloud first in og and refuse to understand the fact that chronologically she met Zack first and that cc is a prequel not a retcon. Nojima always wrote it that way from the beginning and has remained consistent with the storyline.

I love Garnet to hell and back, she's definitely one of my favorite FF characters period... but one thing that has always annoyed me every time I replay FF9 is how she naively thinks that she can easily convince Queen Brahne to stop instigating wars with Burmecia, Cleyra and Lindblum and ordering the creation of black mages. (I'm just now getting to the part where she's trying to talk to Brahne about Burmecia while Steiner and Marcus are being held captive)

Garnet has made it clear that she's seen first-hand Brahne acting strange ever since the King died and Kuja began visiting Alexandria Castle, roughly a year ago. So she's known for a year of how Brahne has changed, she quickly realizes that Brahne is supporting the creation of black mages and using them as weapons of mass destruction after the Dali events... yet she still thinks she can convince Brahne to just suddenly stop being greedy and end the pillages?

I understand Steiner being blindly loyal and naive until Garnet nearly dies from the Eidolon extraction, since a big part of his characterization is learning to think for himself and not blindly following orders. I understand that Garnet is only 16 and pretty sheltered, having grown up as a princess in a castle since she was 6. But, with all of her pre-existing suspicions, which she's had for a year, she should've known better than to naively think she can fix Brahne. Hell, even Zidane (who was still being such a notorious flirt and wasn't taking a lot of things too seriously yet) warned Garnet to not get involved when she tells him that she'll get Brahne to stop doing what she's doing

But that's her mom who loves her. Brahne wasn't like that. Garnet literally says so. She used to be a kind queen until her husband died and she was corrupted by kuja. So why wouldn't Garnet believe she can talk her mother around when she's seen her as a good person for 15 years and only been worried about her the past year?

How long have you known about part 3 leaks?? I just got back on twitter after a year and it looks like some clotis have been hinting at major leaks since as early as December 2024? Did important stuff really leak that early?

Idk it depends on the leak. Some I've had since rebirth since the scenes were removed to be put into p3 and some I only got recently.

The script has been finalised since 2024 and the outline was already scripted before Remake was made. Nojima wrote the story as one piece and that gets expanded as they storyboard development until it reaches its final draft and they get it all mocapped.

You'd think after Cleriths proclaimed that Remake and Rebirth were going to be a "Clerith love fest" and reality being it was the exact opposite, that they'd learn not to get their hopes up for part 3 yet here we are. Once part 3 comes and it ends with Cloti kissing and declaring their love for each other, what excuses will Cleriths come up with next when there is no part 4 to fall back on? 😂

They're already claiming p3 will be split into 2 parts so you can see where they're going with this 😮‍💨

Have you seen this? I can't believe I didn't pay attention to this before. For years, I thought A was supposed to be Sephiroth's foil, but admittedly after A's awful behavior in Rebirth, with her trying to manipulate Cloud just as much as Sephiroth does, A is actually more similar to him than his foil (although unlike Sephiroth, A fails at it every single time). Tifa, however, is the real foil to Sephiroth, and this tweet lists a lot of the contrasts! But then again, Nomura did say this way back in the KH2 Ulti in 2006: "If Cloud's darkness is Sephiroth, then Tifa is light."

Because she doesn't know if Zack is dead and she's also been sliming herself over Cloud so Tifa is wondering if she should step back but then Cloud reassures her they're on the same page and they kiss.

Do you know if part 3 makes any attempt to explain Arith's behavior in Rebirth? I understand ZA is endgame (pretty much a given at this point), but I also think a ZA ending would be, frankly, insulting if her behavior isn't properly revisited and recontextualized.

Even if we were to assume that Rebirth intended to show how she's unable to move on from Zack (and I personally believe this was the intention), SE fumbled the execution enough that many players were left with the impression that Arith was genuinely obsessed with Cloud. I've actually seen fans of ZA drop the ship because of it - Zack deserves better. If part 3 doesn't address this, I'm not too sure ZA will win them over again.

FF16's English localization team was the best, they should've been hired to translate Remake Trilogy instead of stupid salty bitter jealous dumdums like Ben Sabin and Matt Furd

Yeah there's a reason why the localisation for ff16 is good. The English team and the devs kept sending the script back and forth to ensure the characters sounded good. They also did all of the mocap in english first, and then mapped it for the other languages.

Whatever criticisms people have about ff16 (and tbh most of mine revolve around the lack of interaction with party members and also sidelining Jill the entire time for a meatfest) the localisation is pretty damn good.

I wish the 7r team had that much respect for the devs that they confirmed they'd chosen the right context in translations, but instead we have Matt Furda and Ben Sabin 😮‍💨

at this point in time (at least 2 years until p3 release) do you have leaks that CONFIRM there will only be 1 UTHW scene outcome (unlike the original game with its "were you listening?"/"were you watching?" difference). not what YOU THINK will happen but cold hard facts, actual leaks that say there's only 1 scene.

If I'm being blunt, Aerith's popularity is mostly due to the fact that she dies, so her fans puts her on a pedestal and expects every other FF7 fan to do the same. If she didn't die and every other charateristic of her's was kept the same, she wouldn't have nearly as much significance or hype.

Take that away and she's just a two faced back stabber who thought she was special.

There's this question that I wanted to ask you. Why did Cloud hide the fact that he was at Aerith's church in OTWTAS when he asked Tifa if he could bring him home? He hesitated to tell her later when she said she knew he'd bring him back even if she'd said no. Is it because he's hiding his problems from her or he thought she'd be mad that he went to the church without telling her beforehand? We already know he went to the church because he wants to be forgiven but why he didn't tell Tifa?

He's hiding his depression and insecurity from her and didn't want her to help him through it again. He even says in ac Tifa always helps him and having her constant support and acceptance when he's feeling like he's not good enough to lick her boots makes him feel even worse. And he probably remembers how affected by Aerith's death Tifa was and her own survivor's guilt and feeling suicidal over it all and doesn't want to upset her and bring back bad memories.

It's a load of complex feelings for both of them all stewing together in a pot.
