This is your reminder that going to Baelon was Viserra’s last resort not her first move. I’ve seen a lot of posts and fanfic misconceptions lately stating that the Good Queen Alysanne made Viserra’s betrothal after she went to Baelon however in reality the betrothal was made in 86 AC and the incident with Baelon happened in 87 AC not long before Viserra died.
We are told that “Viserra first turned to her father for help, but Jaehaerys agreed with the match and refused to interfere” and only after Jaehaerys and presumably the Queen refused to break the betrothal did “Viserra then turned to Baelon, hoping for him to rescue her”
The quotes come directly from Fire and Blood and the ASOIAF wiki on Viserra’s page

So I don't think I've ever spoken about Viserra on here but I am 100% a Viserra apologist (not that I think she did anything wrong though).
This has probably been discussed a thousand times before but I don't go through the tags often. But I am so confused about Alysanne's interpretation of Viserra's attempted seduction of Baelon. Queen Alysanne said Viserra only did it out of ambition to be queen. Not only do we not have any evidence backing this claim up but Aemon was also still very much alive and well at the time. I don't believe succession had been decided either yet. Alysanne herself wanted Rhaenys to be queen after Aemon.
Even if Baelon was his brother's successor at that point in time, it could be a very long time away before Baelon could even sit the throne himself. No one knew Aemon would die just a few years later. He was young and in good health. So I do not get why Alysanne thought Viserra did this for a chance at being queen because that chance could be a very long time away for all they knew.
I know King Jaehaerys and Queen Alysanne are not winning any parenting of the year awards any time soon but wow I still can't believe that Queen Alysanne, supposed champion of women, somehow didn't understand that her 15 year old daughter, who was described as wild, high-spirited, and had plenty of friends in King's Landing, simply did not want to be married off to an old man in the cold north and be sent away from home.
Viserra's preening and prancing around Baelon was likely just her having a girlish crush, she was literally only 15!!! 😭 Baelon was known to have been a great husband to Alyssa and a good prince and father. Of course Viserra would develop a crush and think he's her only way out of a terrible betrothal.
I know Viserra is described as sly but we really get no proof she was some great schemer. She was an impulsive teenager, not a mastermind. She was just a young girl who wanted to stay at home.

oh my god i just realised, after jason's death, his room likely (correct me if im wrong though) NEVER got disturbed by anyone, his clothes were still waiting in the laundry basket, his book was still dig-eared by the nightstand, his covers where still undone, his soap in the bathroom was still half-empty
i never really got too emotional over jason's death until now because that was a 15 year old boy with the sun inside of his soul and he was so brutally killed, like he still had chubby cheeks and his teeth were probably still a little wonky and he was still waiting for a growth spurt
anyway just the thought of bruce going into his room and trying to move on from his death and breaking down because jason's room still smelled like him, the hoodie tossed causally over his chair still smelled like him, his nightlight still routinely came on every night, his sticky notes reminding himself of homework that was due months ago still remained on the cork board
i like to think that sometimes bruce and dick would go into there and just sit on the floor, making sure to not touch any of jason's dirty washing that was still on the floor, and they'd just sit there and breathe in jason's scent like he was still there
possible head cannon that when jason came back and spent his first night back at the manor, he moved to a different room and jason's old room never got touched again and somehow the smell of 15 year old jason (way different to 19 year old jason) never quite faded and sometimes, just sometimes, bruce and dick would let themselves imagine a world where jason returned home that day, where his washing was collected by alfred, his nightlight came on, his book was opened to the next page and dog-eared again, and that jason's eyes wouldn't be green, because that potential silly, happy boy died alongside jason, jason is still jason, but jason would never be the jason he would have been if he had come home
but yeah basically 😋

internet safety we were taught as kids: don't share ANY personal information with ANYONE EVER the british government: you don't want to give these random third parties your photo or driving licence showing your name, birthday, address and signature? are you perhaps a nonce?

Wildest thing to me about the online safety act is that parental controls already exist on every device. Like my mp3 player has a parental controls option. Like why should i have to give up my privacy and risk my data being leaked because some people cant be bothered to check that their kids are safe online
