Prologue.
My name is Daniel and this will be a diary of my BACC in Sims 2.
This is my third try doing a BACC because I constantly lost my motivation along the way. By sharing my journey, I hope to keep myself motivated and fulfill my lifetime want of building a custom giant neighborhood.
So why are you posting it online if you are doing it mainly for yourself, you may ask? Well I thought that maybe 2 or 3 people are maybe interested in BACCs, want to get inspired or need a little push to continue their ongoing challenge in Sims 2. I would be glad to inspire, entertain or help someone. But if that's not the case, that's fine as well.
The Sims 2 is as nostalgic to me as it is to many people. With six years I started to watch my sister play this game. She always played her selfmade Sim in Pleasantview with a motherlode of cash, with me next to her constantly scared by fire, burglars and the grim reaper. Despite my fear, I had fun watching her play and will always remember this time. Few years later I started playing it myself on and off. Now that I am older and I no longer have to cry when my house is burning down, I wanted to take it to the next level and collect new unforgettable memories with this game.
Soooo... to the challenge! *Batman Transition Melody*
My goal is to create a giant and completely selfmade neighborhood with different selfmade subhoods. I want to create the neighborhood-templates, every lot, community-lot and every sim (in terms of facial features) all by my self. Regarding the BACC I will play by a mixture of rules created by different people and by myself (if someone should be interested in the detailed rules just ask) but generally speaking I won't play with taxes. Community Lots, Subneighborhoods and CAS Sims are earned by different means. Every 4 housholds one Community Lot is earned. While every placed Community Lot grants me one additional Sim I can create in CAS and add to the neighborhood. To unlock the different Subneighborhoods I have to reach a certain level in a career and/or have a certain total population. Some jobs are locked at the start and have to be unlocked by placing a Community Lot that fits the job or by scenarios that need to happen to unlock one opening in a job. At the start there will be my founding Sim and 19 other Sims who will populate my neighborhood. I want to start it all off with a legacy challenge. For 3 Generations I will only play the founding family and the other housholds will act like townies and progress on their own thanks to the Story Progression mod by Lazy Duchess. After the 3 Generations I will remove Story Progression and start to play rotationally. All my "townies" will be divided in their own respective houshold. My reasoning for this process is that I wanted to have Sims who where born into the neighborhood and have already their own random memories, relationships and mixed genetics. With these memories and relationships acting as a base I can create a storyline for each individual Sim that I can follow and optimize during my gameplay. I don't have townies in my neighborhood, the only Sims populating it will be my housholds from the rotation. The Legacy Challenge will be continued of course until the goal of 10 Generations is met. As I progress, I want to start different challenges as well (Rags to Riches, Asylum-Challenge, etc.).
This diary will consist of frequent pictures of my neighborhood and highlights/summaries of each round of the families. My playstyle is partially want-based but I will implement ideas I have throughout the gameplay because I made the experience that a 100% want-based playstyle can get repetitive and boring.
That's all for now. The first pictures will follow shortly.
To everyone who stumbled onto this blog and is reading this: I wish you all the best and hope you have a wonderful day.
