You’re never going to forgive me, and I have accepted that; never again say my name so kind, and I will forgive myself for that.

I think it’s time I ran, full sprinting and gasping breath; I need to feel that burning and stinging air in my lungs to tell me that I am still alive. Blood rushing and pumping through my veins as every step takes me further and further away; I need to be somewhere that feels like home.
I have tried to walk and crawl over these mounding hills, pounding the dirt with my bare and bleeding feet; it’s time I flee. Bruises aching and swelling around my ankles and knees; I need to run freely in the valley and mountain range.

Madness and Madness
My great grandmother used to be called crazy as the dementia wracked her memories;
Momma says madness doesn’t just run in the family, it sprints at Olympic speed.
Pa used to talk about his childhood before he could no longer speak;
Momma says madness isn’t just an emotion, it’s the illusion of care.

Question for those who give a shit…
Is there any of my previous pieces that I should bring to this new blog? Anything people want to read again? I will likely bring back Superstition when I finish the next chapter.

To Compare Thee…
A tree has fallen, deep in the woods somewhere forgotten. Its roots upheaved, its bark softened, its inside hollow and rotten. Deer trample over and hares scurry beneath, insects and spiders compete to eat. Its ground now bared, its leaves long dead, its branches snapped and sharpened like teeth.
A tree has fallen, deep in the woods somewhere forgotten.

The hardest part about this steel prison, is I remember the color of your eyes when I look out at the setting sun beneath the rising and falling swells; each fleck of gold reflecting the hazy, orange light.

I wish I could forgive the silence the same way it has forgiven me; filled with captivating cold, or wondrous warmth, it has breathed death like a plague into me. And I wish I could forgive it for its boundless existence the same way it has pitied mine.

I’m alive, if anyone cared.
It’s been crazy, and my life is shambles, and everything is getting harder to articulate because I’m a moron, but I’m alive.
