at the shore
-
Fredrick from the Hotel: why is this piano out here on the beach? why is it covered in shells, and who are you?
girl from room #507 West : room #507 East. i gathered up all of those shells for my piano, so i will now play a song.
Fredrick from the Hotel: yes, miss, although that piano is from the front lobby.
girl from room #507 West : i rescued it to be out here to play a perfect song. this piano was lonely there by itself, now look at it. please sit, listen. then i will listen to you. i will dedicate this to, all the mermaids who helped me collect all these shells.
Fredrick from the Hotel: you are maybe seven years old, how did you get this piano out here?
girl from room #507 West : that rabbit.
Fredrick from the Hotel: a rabbit brought this piano out to the shore? while you, and mermaids collected shells, then covered it with those shells?
girl from room #507 West : exactly. the rabbit was in the room i am staying in. that rabbit, made it all happen very fast. some things were twirling in circles just above our heads. we were hypnotized. now though, i am about to play the song. if you like, you may sing.
Fredrick from the Hotel: what rabbit?
girl from room #507 West : right there next to you.
(here Fredrick from the Hotel turns to see a giant rabbit next to him)
Fredrick from the Hotel: damn it  r  a  b  b  i  t !
the rabbit tilted it’s head, winked at Fredrick from the Hotel and pointed with a front foot toward the mermaids waving out there close by in the water.
girl from room #507 West : will you both be singing? are you ready?

no such thing as love under the wing
a saturday after
noon
sunken in a sea of sorrow
gloom
alas
she was her yesterday
now look at him
in ruin
tattered
torn
on saturday
after
noon.
“love" he began to sing “has disassembled my heart…” snapped his fingers once or twice and his body fell apart.

you tell me
-
the artist: at times, whispers. is polite.
the cosmos: your domain.
-
the artist: my question, where does the enjoyment of art come from say a writer, a story, a read?
the cosmos: once it is written it belongs to me, so...
the artist: for instance Sarah, paints little masterpieces. collects about seven, then burns them. yet, Sarah continues to paint.
the cosmos: exactly. those paintings are mine now. Sarah is quietly electric at little masterpieces. she is quite satisfied, and smiles about it often.
the artist: who sees the paintings before they burn, if no one reads the story?
the cosmos: one thing about being the cosmos works out at the creation of a story is the lasting enjoyment. another pleasure when read. then once read, understood, or painted soul across the canvas all these little masterpieces. there is most plenty of enjoyment for us all.
the artist: let us then, have rum. my treat, here read this.
the cosmos: are you enjoying yourself?
the artist: yes.

singing
i. sturdy your footsteps toward only the perfection flows from your fingertips,
ii. Lily said to Grace. Grace said that she had always followed, strived toward a slightly less perfect path. laughed about spanish moss. a small bird landed just before them did a quick side to side look up at Lily and Grace then began singing. well, Lily and Grace both immediately were singing too. all quite lovely. here in the meadow.

use those wings for something, the time to fly is now. that branch is just above the river.

if, and only, i may be able to fly i would immediately (leap into the sky and) fly to you so, so so i might see your joyous smile of which i dream. i must tell you i would circle around y-o-u-r house and perch myself right there on y-o-u-r windowsill and sing to you of my sincere love, for you, of
which i dream.

it is all magic
-
he, the doctor,  put his glasses on, looked down at his notes he had been writing, cleared his throat then said, “you say, you’ve done everything you want to do, met everyone you want to meet, been everywhere you want to go and seen everything you want to see. is that correct?” he took his glasses off and looked directly at the man sitting across from him and waited for a reply.
“peter and wendy were so absolutely right.” offered the man.
then he, the doctor, sighed;  put his glasses back on and began writing again in the folder of notes he had balanced on his lap. “some of your answers to my inquiries seem to be simply random statements and i am not sure if i will be of any help if this is the path you choose,” the doctor professed raising his head and removing his glasses.
“i am still clutching to myself in the  jesus prayer right alongside franny glass,” the man whispered.
the doctor stated “ i thought you are not a religious man. i only mention this from your previous conversations we’ve had you told me so.”
“see more glass,” was all the man said.
the doctor sighed once more and repositioned himself in his chair and put forth  “you are quoting characters from books.  the glass family is a fictitious family from books. might you possibly tell me something from a real person?”
the man directed his eyes around the room gazing at the art work on the walls along with framed certificates made out with the doctor’s name. very slowly he put forth “here is a quote for you doctor, it is very close to the end.”
“who is that a quote from?” asked the doctor.
“that is a quote from me doctor,” countered the man.
the doctor for a few moments just stared at the man then deliberately placed his glasses on, and started again writing in his notes.
“say doctor,” the man inquired, “you want to see some magic?”
without raising his eyes the doctor responded “what sort of magic?”
“i can make something disappear right before your eyes. something like this you have never seen,”  the man whispered still glancing at the framed certificates with the doctor’s name on them there on his wall.
“you’re going to show me here?” inquired the doctor halfheartedly still head down writing, “and this will be some sort of magic?”
“ it is all magic, doctor,” the man replied as he leaned over reached into his black attaché case there at his feet, pulled out a small caliber handgun placing it to his temple staring at the good doctor, then squeezed the trigger.
the doctor, startled, immediately looked up glasses flying off his face and almost fell out of his chair. saw the man in front of him slumped over on his side; then glanced up at the red covering his art, the certificates on his walls.

spare space, have some
as your stroll is parallel to mine
: jumps straight into your brain you were not even chasing a train this all happens fairly quickly a bright flash straight into morning a thousand birds all at once very merry. Mary,
as long as you are comfortable with all of these rooms, even the last one where the ghost couple stay, your attendant on duty a giant rabbit, here are the keys to those books. the train runs parallel just along the back. out on the terrace, as you see, basically, goes on forever. whether dancing twirling your skirt in harmony with mermaids here on the terrace you see, there is plenty of space.
in the morning we took a stroll and watched each other pass by.

a small storm kisses down
do you see those dark beige clouds forming?
i do.
my advice is to lie down exactly here within the next seven seconds.
why should i lie down here, especially in seven seconds?
now two: there will be a deluge of rain passing over the best experience is lying down just like this.
as you wish, i will lie down here OH it is raining very very hard on my face feels like tiny bullets this is most intense. this pounding rain has conquered me i can not even see you there i am soaking wet.
>here, suddenly
the rain passes loudly down the shore. sandpipers peck at my hair then move on, it sounds as if they are softly all singing the same song, a chant we rise together. the sun has begun already to dry our clothes the dark beige clouds are disappearing<

a woman
a woman of years knows where to put properly things, and when to say no. life has dulled me some though not her.
looking out the window this woman sees endless desert sands exquisitely in all colors of love. from beyond mountains the moon beckons a night
bath. this woman gracefully disrobes under the falling stars letting the water drown all her little sins for the day.
not any hesitation when once one little sin after another tickles her finger tips into action. warm water cool night bathes her mystery. as for yourself,
