hand in mine, into your icy blues
and then i'd say to you, "we could take to the highway with this trunk of ammunition, too"
i'd end my days with you,
in a hail of bullets

there is a willow grows aslant a brook, that shows his hoar leaves in the glassy stream; there with fantastic garlands did she come of crow-flowers, nettles, daisies, and long purples that liberal shepherds give a grosser name, but our cold maids do dead men's fingers call them: there, on the pendent boughs her coronet weeds clambering to hang, an envious sliver broke; when down her weedy trophies and herself fell in the weeping brook. /// don't ask me why i hate myself as i'm circling the drain 'cause death, it takes too long and i can't wait

I might be thinking about this too deeply but did anyone else notice how in the "Forever" part of Tempest the main vocal is monotonous and hopeless and dark and sad, fitting for how the song is so resentful and bitter, but the harmony and background vocals sound to be lighter, almost happier? They're higher pitched with more variation and a happier sounding tone, almost like Ethel is singing along with him in the background, and "forever" means something different to both of them. To Ethel, "forever" means they are in love, and to Willoughby, "forever" means he is doomed. He sings "forever" fueled with the anger and resentment he feels towards Ethel, and Ethel sings it unaware.

I had a dream last night that ethel cain changed the tours name to “the apology tour” and came out on stage on night 1 wearing a shirt that read “DO NOT LEGALIZE INCEST”
