New draconia family tree just dropped. some chap 7 spoilers, some are ocs still
i do not know how three generations of women mommy dragon ladies ended in a boy honestly i feel like that means its rigged. anyways-
Maldra Draconia - Big red dragon old as time itself, this is where the Draconia's get their pretty green eyes from. Also though, just like all of the Draconia's in canon twisted wonderland. she's an absolute horror. I'm talking country destroyer to the point that if Tenebris hadn't somehow accidentally seduced her- the world probably would have ended. and it only got worse from there, because.... both her and Tenebris were strong af so Maleficia came out even stronger...
Rex Tenebrarum - that's just his title technically. I just translated king of darkness into latin smh. Tenebris is his nickname. Fae names are power guys. He's so anal about it even his own wife doesn't know his true name. Which isn't to say that he doesn't love her, but just that he takes every measure necessary to protect himself and in turn, his family. Somehow he accidentally seduced Maldra and then she actually forced him to marry her- but don't worry- he was totally into it.
Maleficia Draconia- Somehow even stronger than both of her parents. Terrifying. Her dad kept her more mellow than her mother thankfully, but she's still horrible and her mother lets her cause havok anyways. Dad has to come in and stop her halfway but by then some citys are still gone....
Dante Draconia- He'll come up in the future, so i haven't decided much on him, but i do want it to be a theme where the draconia women just strong arm these men who accidentally seduce them into marrying them. Poor guy. He probably mellows out grandmommy draconia though.
Other than that, things will be close to the canon universe. Lilia, Mallenoa, and Raven will all still be childhood friends, although Lilia will be doing fieldtrips to Kumiko's mountain to train. Maybe for summer vacation! And of course, Mallenoa will not allow him to have fun without her- Which also means Raven comes too.
Grim, Kumiko and the reader will be like summer camp counselors with a world destroyer dragon fae, bratty little future hardcore general lilia, and also a bird who probably cries whenever he makes eye contact with kumiko.
Also no- i do not subscribe to the Crowley is Raven theory guys. C'mon. I wouldn't want any future where Mallenoa died tragically while Raven was still alive. I'd like to think he'd go to hell before he ever leaves her high and dry.
Also we'll probably try to prevent them from dying in this world. I haven't worked out the specifics yet. Maybe it ends up being their fate to die- or maybe I'll decide that since we hold some sort of power over this world, that we can defy even fate itself. It's the same problem I'll have to think over with Ortho. Since the original ortho is dead and the one we all know and love is just a recreation of a dead kid...
Welp. That's a problem for future Shrimpy. Not me. goodnight and please remember that i love malleus-

Not me dropping vil crumbs after being afk for god knows how long. anyways i love vil thanks. also yes this is for the demon fox au sometimes i just want to write about pretty boys. also i cant stop thinking about this scene with vil and kumiko sending him fan letters of encouragement after neige appears. bby i love you.
Vil Schoenheit was a prince. An elven prince. He was renowned for his immense beauty and grace, both of which he inherited from his rather famous father who dabbled in theater acting and his mother who was the noble lady many referred to as "the most beautiful".
Even Vil's adoptive brother was incredibly beautiful, even if he was a human...
Vil hated Niege Leblanche. Or rather, since his mother brought him home, it would be Neige Leblanche Schoenheit.
That was the beginning of Neige stealing everything from him. First his name... then his mother... then the people of his country... and then even the title handed to him on a silver platter.
"The fairest of them all."
He used to be- he was the product of two of the most attractive people on the continent arguably. Admittedly he himself stole that title from his mother, but she never cared for it as much as Vil did.
That was his title. His.
It seemed that the only thing that Neige wasn't able to take from Vil was his father. Thank goodness to that, too. Vil may have gone mad if that were the case as well. Vil simmered in his hate for Neige for less than a month, though, before receiving a letter.
The letter went as such:
"To the fairest of them all, Vil Schoenheit,
I hope this letter finds you well, though I doubt it. I've heard your mother recently took in a human boy... Now, I don't quite hate humans. They're rather amazing, resilient things, however... my heart does go out to you... it's completely ridiculous- the things that I've been hearing of. I've spoken to your father about such things and he as well expresses his sadness. Firstly, your mother's blatant neglect since taking in that human kid. Secondly, the fact that your servants as well will forget about you the second Neige walks in. And even thirdly, that people dare speak of Neige being better for the throne than you."
The letter wasn't finished. But Vil took a moment to stop and calm himself a bit. He knew well all of those things. Especially that last one. An elf's ears are especially keen- but Vil exceeds that. He's always had an ear for gossip.
"In regards to those things, I want to say... well they're dumb. Completely dumb and ridiculous. I've never been more drivin' up the wall than with all of this nonsense. I'm on your side Vil. I'm declaring myself your #1 fan. Don't let their words get to you, and don't give in to the hate either.
It's all well and good to hate them, but if you begin to let it get to you too much you'll lose your beauty for sure. Hate makes all things ugly. I know that too well. Neige has stolen a lot from you, unjustly, but its not his fault entirely as well. His blame lies in the side that is terribly ignorant and unbothered by the suffering of those around him. For him to claim so blatantly that you two are brothers and that he loves you- all the while blind to the very pain you feel. That is his problem. He may be as sweet as he wants, never harming even a fly, but that ignorance of him makes him just as bad.
Like I said though, it's not just him. The people to flock to him, disregarding their respect for you over a pretty new toy- those people are in the wrong too.
I know you're angry. One day even, that anger might consume you despite my words. But I hope that, instead of holding that anger in till the point it bubbles over into an incurable poison, you might instead confide in me- your number one fan.
I'll always be on your side. As will the people who truly love you, like your father. It would bring me great joy if we started to exchange letters just like this. Of course, you don't have to if you don't want to, but the offer will always be there.
Love,
Your #1 Fan, Kurama
P.S. That is not my real name, I just made it up, just thought I should let you know.
P.P.S. Neige isn't even that cute I literally do not get why everyone thinks he's prettier than you it's unreal. Do these people not have eyes?????"
The letter thusly ended, and for the first time in a long time, Vil laughed as though all of his worries melted away.

Finally. Grim had waited eons to meet you- to see your face again. He still remembered so clearly the day he met you- the day he fully understood the truth of the world. It was in his first life actually that the two of you first met. Or rather that is to say, when he met you, he realized that this wasn't his first life.
In a world similar to this one yet not quite the same. He was just a monster wishing to become the greatest mage in the world and you- or rather, your vessel, was unwillingly summoned to an all boys school by the name of Night Raven College.
At first, in the life that became the first in his memory, Grim didn't even realize what was going on. He figured actually, that none of them did either. Especially now that he's moved on from that life. He didn't know what made it so special that first life that made him remember, but he supposes that it had something to do with you.
Something must have happened that hurt you. Emotionally, physically, he didn't know. But something or someone hurt you so badly that he was able to feel your pain through your vessel, Yuu, the student he had become so close to and had gone through many trials and tribulations with.
He remembers how it felt to wake up in a cold sweat with a feeling of wrongness in the air. Immediately he had turned to Yuu, because for some odd reason, he had awoke feeling they were in danger. And yet, when his eyes turned to his roommate, they were sound asleep with a look of peace on their face. Not a single furrow of the brow or clenched fist, neither a frown nor even one stressed breath.
Some how though, he felt you. Your presence was hanging on Yuu's very body and Grim could now notice the shaky will that it held.
From that day, Grim realized something.
This world... was it even real?
He could see you- the real you- sometimes, in the sky or in classes (though only specifically alchemy, flight or history, your preferences were rather strange he though). Sometimes you spoke, sometimes you didn't.
It seemed though, since that first night, that you were recovering from some sort of struggle in your life. The smiles didn't come much in the beginning, and he couldn't do anything to change that.
He did try though. But when he did... he was scared... He sort of became detatched from reality if he tried. Every time he tried to point you out to the others they laughed him off. If he tried something more serious and outright, or even dared mention that this world wasn't real in anything but a joking manner, reality would sort of... well. It could only be described as scraping. Like nails on a chalkboard.
It was a sort of sound and feeling and sight. The first time it happened, apparently he had gone missing for a month. Yuu and the others had been horrified and tried to find him, but no matter what they did they couldn't find it. Even Malleus and Lillia had tried their hand, yet came up with failures.
What he had experienced during that... time, was something indescribable in words, but it was enough for him to never try to do it again.
And even despite the horrible things that had happened to him- that had changed him (because after that, he couldn't be the same)- Grim couldn't tear himself away from you.
The more time he spent with you, the more addicted to your aura he became.
That's why it was all the more horrifying for him when you disappeared from his life.
Grim had never taken drugs before, but surely this sort of experience must be the same as going cold turkey off of that stuff.
He didn't really know the exact details of that time though, because he had died apparently.
He didn't quite realize it until he woke up again, still Grim, still a monster, yet... not in the same Twisted Wonderland? The setting, the plot, everything else was different. He was so confused that he didn't even quite get his barings until a rather unfortunate meeting with Sebek- another, different, Sebek- and his sword.
Honestly, Grim was so simultaneously suprised and not at all shocked to see Sebek screaming about how he was "IN LORD MALLEUS' WAY" and something else but honestly hearing Sebek yelling brought his senses back to normal enough for him to realize that there were differences with his Sebek and this one.
First of all: no hair jell and slicked back hair. He laughed at him for this one. Secondly: ugly outfit straight out of some sort of old timey drama. Grim also laughed at him for this one. Thirdly, and most importantly: He was a vampire??? Grim definitely laughed at him for this one.
It was only by Malleus' grace that he didn't die that day.
After that, his lives were kind of a blur. It's been so many lifetimes searching and searching for you for any sliver of your presence once again. But he couldn't find you at all.
It took him a while to connect the dots, but eventually he figured he should try looking for Yuu again. Your vessel. He had seen tons of the others around, the same 22 people you and he had gone to school with. Though they had different backgrounds and sometimes even different species, they bore the same name and the same face.
Except he couldn't find them. He had tried describing their face, drawing their portrait and showing it around, but nobody had seen hide nor hair of them.
Although... thinking back on it. This story of his should probably be called, "The 1000 times Grim couldn't find Yuu, and the 1 time he did."
And it was pretty funny too, Yuu didn't go by the name Yuu at all in this life, though he knew it was hers and always would be her true name. It explained why he might have never found them before.
Yuu this time had taken up the name Kumiko, one she stole- which was a funnily tragic story for another time.
Kumiko was a fox spirit, and she was covered in your presence, though it was rather light.
She was also very much not like his first Yuu. He attributed that part to the fact that she used to be a fox. But still they got along just the same... Well. He thought they got along. Kumiko is just testy though, she totally loves him.
After he had secured your vessel, he tried to find a way to bring you over into this world. That's why he left for hundreds of years in the first place. And that's why it took him about 10 years to come back home to her- and you. Because he had felt your presence in this world immediately. The same day you entered Kumiko's body (by her own power he was annoyed to find out), Grim turned his body 180 degrees and ran back home. Although, he was rather far out. Twisted Wonderland was so small, so he had to search further out- into places others wouldn't even dream of.
Authors Note: Can't even be surprised at my hoe ass making at least one of these bitches self aware. Anyways. Imma be honest. I was gonna go like make some sorta profile page or something but then i was like "man idk how to format this in tumblr" and then I was like "Okay i'll just write blorbs of facts about him and stuff"- and then i just proceeded to write grim background oneshot so like i guess??? this was not the product i set out to create srsly. Maybe I'll do separate post of Grim profile, but honestly i'm set to just call this good enough and finally move on to making the next set of chapters with LILIA ugh. Malleus is best boy but imma be honest guys. If Lilia kept his original form and didn't shape shift into a fucking twink with SHORT HAIR and kept his tall form with long hair yall know this hoe is gonna be Lilia's number one fan. Still love him to pieces dont be mistaken tho. but malleus is taller with longer hair so there are priorities that need to take place. anyways feel free to ask questions as they come guys. I can talk about this shit for AGES.

Lilia Vanrouge and Kumiko Background
Literally so badly want to write meeting Lilia for the first time, I’ve got everything planned out in my head on how we’ll meet him and what he’ll be and the whole shebang, just got to write it out, but I’m so tired that I just wanna sit in my little comfy and cozy blanket hoodie under my warm sheets and play fire emblem awakening and go gaga over marrying chrom for the 100th time.
But until then I do wanna talk a little about Lilia because I’m so hype about it. I’m not afraid to spoil anything honestly, I’m not good at keeping secrets, but if you want it to be a surprise till the main part Imma put it under a read more.
OKAY SO LIKE- oh boy okay so like I have all these thoughts, and to begin to explain I have to like go in depth on what exactly Kumiko is. Yes, she is a kitsune, but that’s more of a name that we the reader call her cause I mean, she looks like one, right? And for all intents and purposes Kumiko is a fox. As in. She used to be an animal, but as stated in chapter one, animals aren’t sentient.
Animals in this world are more bestial. They don’t speak with words and express themselves through language, but rather through feeling and emotion and scents and body language, it all comes together to form the animal “language”.
Kumiko used to be like them too, but there is one key difference that made her stand out from the rest. She ate humans. And sure, other animals can eat humans too, but none ate so many as Kumiko did. After she got the first taste she decided “huh. this tastes good. I should eat more of this”. And she kept eating and eating. The more Kumiko ate the longer her lifespan grew. At first, that’s all it was. And obviously the longer she lived the more humans she ate.
That continued on and on until she finally gained the one thing an animal needed to become fully awakened and ascend into a greater sentiency. She gained a sense of self.
After that, Kumiko wasn’t just some fox that really liked eating humans, she was a spirit of nature in the form of a fox. Aaaaaand yada yada this and that-- Kumiko is fae. With all of the different cultures of this world sort of in one big continent, it’s not really known what specific area Kumiko even came from, Kumiko isn’t even her name honestly (as a fae, names have power and such, but the story of how Kumiko started going by that name and what her true name is actually is another story.) (Grim isn’t fae, btw, that I know of. I still have to work out the logistics of what an amalgamation is in the first place. Demon maybe? Idk.) And thus brings us to Briar Valley, where the ruling power is Malanea Draconia, an ancient dragon older than even you and Kumiko. Now, as with most cases, dragons aren’t fae. They’re just dragons. However- Malanea’s husband is fae. Name to be decided, but he’s an old Spirit of Darkness that rules over the majority of the fae. I’m not going to do the typical seelie and unseelie courts because I don’t quite think that these guys are going to fit into either stereotype of the two as they’re more in the middle. Not malicious in spirit like the unseelie, but not jovial and peaceful and bright as the seelie. They don’t quite fit in either, so we’re just gonna make them all one group.
Malanea is the one wearing the pants and killing the bugs in this relationship by the way, her husband was rather happy to allow her all the power while he gets to be a trophy househusband.
And they have a daughter too by the way. You might be familiar with her actually. Maleficent. She’s about 200 years old right now, a lot younger than you, but she does know you- Kumiko that is. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaand she kind of hates Kumiko’s guts. Kumiko is much like a fox and rather liked playing evil little pranks on Maleficent and ruffling her metaphorical feathers. Despite her immense anger towards Kumiko though, Maleficent does respect her (which just stands to piss her off more).
With that being said. Maleficent is a rather curious child and after hearing her much respected elder’s story, Mallie was curious if she could create another spirit like Kumiko. So she got a pet bat... named Lilia Vanrouge
I honestly thought I was a genius here after getting this far in brain dream world, but writing it all out is so much less exciting.
Anyways. Mallie feeds her cute little vampire bat Lilia every day with- you guessed it- her blood!--- Wait. you thought she was feeding her little bat boy human blood? Not in this life sweetie. He’s the pet bat of a princess and he eats only the best food- which is her.
And honestly, with how powerful and strong Mallie is, Kumiko might be getting a little jealous with how fast Lilia awakens...
...Anyways I’m done talking, but now that I literally gushed all that out and set aside fire emblem (i love you chrom bby) I”m actually really hype to write this out sooooooooo i’mma do that till i get sleepy

Hi if it's not a spoiler will we have a human form like most kitsune?
Yep we do! Its actually already been mentioned briefly in the first chapter. As a kitsune, the reader has the ability to shape shift their form to various states like full demon fox with all of her tails, regular fox with one tail for stealthy things, full human form, and a more typical kitsune humanish form with ears and tails. One thing to note is that the human form has regular hair color and eye color, so whatever your birth hair color is like black or blonde or brown or birth eye color is. In every other form you have Kumiko's white color and whatever cool eye color you fancy.
And of course, you can be whatever gender you want. Neither you nor Kumiko are bound by the laws of society and nature and you can change gender at will! Kumiko is canon she/her though as it was always her preference. Honestly she doesn't even remember if she was born that way or not. She doesn't think it's necessary to remember.

The Demon Fox of Twisted Wonderland: Chapter One, The Ramshackle
<Intro> <Prologue>
Trigger Warnings: Cannibalism, Death
After your initial meeting and getting to know of Kumiko, you both agreed that staying in her mountain den was going to be the safest bet until you could figure out how to use all of her powers. While you hadn’t initially liked it because you were worried about missing meeting all of the characters that you so loved in Twisted Wonderland, the worry was squashed after she explained how dreadfully lacking in technology the people were, that and magic wasn’t even like… much of a thing. Humans didn’t really have magic unless gifted it from a magical being capable of such themself (Kumiko being one of them able to do so), or if they were descended of magical beings.
So one, not only were you not in the original Twisted Wonderland, you were so far back in the past that humans didn’t even have shoes for most of the part. Kumiko was actually rather surprised they’d figured out how to make homes at all even, though she suspects it was partially due to the aid of those rather annoying and generous elves. (Yes. Elves.)
With that being said, you didn’t find it rather necessary to venture out. One thing you did ask Kumiko about was Malleus Draconia and Lillia Vanrouge. Seeing as she was familiar with their countries (the names were still the same thank goodness), but the names of the characters were unfamiliar, you could only assume that if they were to be born in this world, it wasn’t yet the time. That brought you great comfort.
If those old biddies weren’t yet born, that meant you would have time to train to your heart's content, and then, after that, you would be able to find and stal-... Okay maybe not stalk but at least get to know your favorite people from Twisted Wonderland.
It took you 10 years to get through the basics and master those alone of Kumiko’s powers, enough so that you’d be able to do everything, at least, though you weren’t quite the master she previously was. In those 10 years you were able to figure out that you could briefly allow Kumiko to take control of some of your powers though not the body. That made the idea of fighting easier, as she would be able to cast magic at the same time you do as well, and it made you both a far more formidable combination together than Kumiko ever was alone.
With that in mind, you set out on a task. In those 10 years you spent in semi-isolation, you told Kumiko everything you knew about your Twisted Wonderland, and she made it her mission to point out the similarities. Like this.
On Kumiko’s mountain was an old castle. She had actually made it herself actually, with the help of an old friend she said. An old friend named Grim. An “Amalgamation” (whatever that is), who had then gone on to name the castle Ramshackle.
She was rather excited at the prospect of making a castle, so when she learned from Grim that he intended to destroy bits of it to make it look old and stuff she nearly had a conniption and killed him, especially after working so hard on it. But that had been nearly hundreds of years ago, and it showed on the castle. She said he didn’t come to visit it often, as he had been looking for something, but wanted a home to rest in occasionally. That said, the last time she saw Grim was about a hundred years after the initial building of the castle. Makes sense that she got lonely if that little shi- if Grim just up and left for hundreds of years.
“I didn’t even like him. He was such a- UGH. Just thinking about him raises my hackles. I can't help it.” After spending so much time with you, Kumiko had sort of slid out of her usual way of speech, though you kind of missed it.
“If you didn’t like him then why did you hang out with him?” You asked as you trodded along in a much smaller form than you had on your first day, you had long since mastered shapeshifting, even able to manipulate your gender at will and switch into a more humanoid form with your ears and tails and even a human form as well.. Right now though, the smaller fox form made traversing nature far easier.
“You know why! You’ve spent plenty of enough time going on and on about Malleus enough for us to both know that when you get lonely you’ll latch onto anything, and you’ve spoken so loudly and angrily about Riddle and his mother that it could even be something bad or that you don’t like as long as you get the approval or attention you want.”
You stopped in your tracks and dug your claws into the ground nearly huffing and puffing, “OH. MY. GOODNESS. Kumiko do not get me started on Riddle's mom. I'm actually going to kill that woman if she’s the same as she is in the original universe. Like I'm serious- Kumiko, don’t play with me.”
You didn’t get a reply but a simple foxish laugh that you couldn’t help but growl at. You made a particularly harsh swipe on a nearby tree as if in revenge before yelping lightly as a claw chipped in the bark. You grumbled with little tears in your eyes as you began to make your way back on the path of the castle.
The castle was actually already in sight but the entrance was a fair bit off, and Kumiko was not helping in the matter either since she kept distracting you as you went along. But at least nature was nice. The grass was a whole lot greener than you were used to, perhaps magic or something, and the trees smelled amazing, but you didn’t know what kind they were or what the smell was either. (They were fir trees and spruce trees you would later find out) And the flowers- oh gosh all of the violets and orchids you could name, but the other ones you couldn’t remember off the tip of your tongue, they smelt and looked beautiful.
As you got closer to the castle gates, you could see how dilapidated it looked already. The moss and other miscellaneous plant life already took it over with incredible vigor over the years.
“Just look at this place. I can’t believe he let this place he wants to call home fall to such ruin! What a brat!”
Now that you were at the gates you made a quick slip in through the gate bars. You had to agree with Kumiko. The castle kinda looked like that one big famous castle from Germany that you remembered in your previous life. Wasn’t that the one that they based the Disney castle off of? But seeing it now… Somehow it looked even worse than the real life castle you used to see. There were holes in the walls and probably all over the roof as well. You could see some cracked or just straight up missing windows, and one of the towers was actually just completely destroyed and toppled over falling into the abyss below the castle.
“What the hell did he even do to that tower over there? Did it get bombed or something?”
“No. That was me. I did tell you I was upset when he announced what he was going to do, so I decided to help.”
“Of cour-”
All of the sudden, you weren’t alone. It was like one second you could feel not a single presence save for a few lingering forest animals, and then there’s a cat right next to you.
“Oya Oya? Did Kumiko forget the love tap she gave our little castle? You were so proud when you did it. You didn’t really-” His words seemed to cut off as your eyes met.
As soon as you felt his presence you jumped back, having been trained enough to at least do that much, but after your eyes met, that small grin on this new Grim grew even wider, much like the Cheshire cat.
“You’re not Kumiko, are you?”
Grim is, as usual, both a blessing and a curse.
Not only does he immediately recognize that you’re not Kumiko, yet in her body, he can also immediately tell that she’s still in there and that your soul is from an entirely separate world.
You’re not entirely sure if you can trust Grim, but in the game he was a good guy at least even when he started going feral from blot, and Kumiko said he’s suspicious but she trusts him with her name, but she also said that you can’t tell him your name either.
(Grim has taken to calling you various other nicknames, like sweetcheeks or darling or pumpkin, or- or even master? You don’t know what's up with that one but the look he gave you is pretty weird.)
After you explained the situation to Grim, he nodded his head a bit and then looked behind him at the castle, then looked back at you, then the castle again, before finally going. “O. K.” and then he immediately ran off towards the castle, flinging magic at stuff as he passed.
You ran after him rather confused although quite adorably with a little bounce in your steps. Though you’d been working with Kumiko’s magic for the past 10 years, it still excited you, especially on such a large scale.
Grim was using his magic to fix the castle.
Oh and on the inside, Kumiko was raging.
“WHY DID HE DESTROY THE CASTLE IF HE WAS JUST GOING TO FIX IT BACK UP I- [Y/N] I CAN’T BELIEVE THIS I’M GOING TO KILL HIM-”
Que your magic piloted by Kumiko firing off at Grim. He didn’t seem to mind and caught on rather quick that it was her doing.
“Te he, Kumiko are you upset or something? I’m just fixing it up for our cute new friend. Don’t tell me you plan on making them live in your little cave for eternity.”
The rage you felt in just one of Kumiko’s screams nearly gave you a headache.
“Both of you please, I think I’m going to be sick…”
Immediately both of them calm down (only after throwing a quick “it’s your fault maybe if you didn’t do it-” back at each other). Kumiko started to use a bit of a baby voice saying she’s sorry and didn’t mean to make you get a headache and grim is bowing his evil little kitty head asking for repentance.
After the castle is all fixed up, everything calms down more. Though Grim and Kumiko both throw barbs at each other as much as they can without being able to directly communicate, you and Grim get along rather fine.
He’s rather excited at the prospect of having better company than Kumiko was, she was such a grouch and too proud to have fun.
Everything was all fine and dandy and you stayed in his company trading stories about your training and some of your own universe as well (though never anything about the game Twisted Wonderland) and he told you lots about all the countries on this continent.
Pretty much all of the same countries existed as they did in the original canon, except they were all closer together and not separated by ocean at all. Although the ocean nearby did have its own cities underground with aquatic supernaturals, which did include mermaids, but also kelpies and sea dragons and any other sort that existed beneath the waves.
It was all exciting to learn about. Everything was fun with Grim until he mentioned he was going out for food one day and game back with a human corpse. Yeah. That was a thing wasn’t it…
“Grim I can’t eat a human. Dude I used to be one, did you not get that part of my stories?” You were in your human form this time, covered in the softest fabrics Grim could make, he said it was made of arachne silk or something, with your ears and tails out, both of which were twitching wildly at his idea.
“Well you can’t not eat humans. They’re like the staple of your diet.” He was actually rather clean right now, the body was too actually. Grim went out of his way to clean both himself in his human form and the body before even appearing in front of you to try and get you to eat it. “What have you even been eating for the past 10 years, Master? I honestly don’t even know how you're still alive.”
You frowned, crossing your arms and stomping your foot. “Well I’ve done it! I’ve been eating rabbits and all the other wild animals in the forest.” And it’s true, you had been. While you could eat berries and fruits and stuff, no matter how much you didn’t want to, you had to eat the animals. The fruits never filled you up, it didn’t even feel like it did anything actually. You could eat an entire tree bark and all and you’d still feel like you hadn’t eaten in days.
“And how much have you been sleeping? Probably days on end right? I dare say you might even sleep through the change of seasons at this rate. Does your fur feel rougher as the days go on? I bet it's far more coarse than it was the day you entered Kumiko’s body. And how brittle are your claws? Honestly I’m amazed you still have them.”
You couldn’t help the scrunch of your eyebrows and purse of your lips at the realization. He was right. Just earlier your claw chipped on the tree. Your fur was more coarse than it used to be. And… sometimes you didn’t even know how many days passed when you woke up, and you never woke up rested.
“He’s right, [y/n]. Humans are a necessary part of our diet.”
Kumiko’s words only made your frown deepen. Looking at Grim, he was looking at you with a sort of pleading expression. He was clearly concerned about you, enough to go and hunt… food… for you. But… “Why? Why do I have to eat them?”
“Its their magic. For pretty much every species, humans are the prime source of their diet because they’re rich in magic. Even if the human themself can’t use magic, they’re made of magic. When a creature gains sentience, growing beyond that of a normal animal or a plant, their magic reserves and abilities skyrocket. You could, in theory, eat other sentient beings like say elves or dragons or mermaids or whatever,” Grim shrugged here and shook his head, “but they put up more of a fight than humans do. That’s why we all eat humans. They’re the weakest on the food chain and it’s a lot easier to swipe a human than a dragon. Even if the dragon has ten times the magic, they won’t go down without a fight, and that fight may end in your death.”
That made sense. As much as you didn’t want to admit it, it all added up. Which meant… “F-,” You took a deep breath before steeling your nerves, looking at the dead body that had been stinking up the room (you didn’t want to think about how that “stink” was far more appealing to your senses than you wanted), “Fine. I’ll eat the human body. But from now on I only want to eat criminals.”
“Ha!” Grim’s previous worry melted the moment you agreed to eat real food. “That’ll be easy. If humans are good at one thing, it’s being horrible.”
You let out a long suffering sigh. “Sure. Yeah.” You didn’t want to debate humans and morals right now, even if Grim’s statement left you with a sour taste in your mouth. “Let’s just… do this.”
You ate the human after that. And to be frank, it was really hard to think about how bad it made you feel to eat something you used to be when all you could think about was how good it was.
After that, your body seemed to get… better. Like it used to be. Silky smooth fur, sharp and deadly claws that could cut through steel, and even your previously sluggish reflexes grew sharp like the edge of a blade.
It was only after another year of recovering in Ramshackle to a state Grim and Kumiko approved of that they both thought it was a good idea to travel.
There was a lot of discussion on where to go Grim threw in his two cents, explaining the state of all the countries that he’d been too before, but it was mainly a discussion between you and Kumiko, because there was one place you really wanted to go, where all the action would begin.
“Briar Valley” you would tell Grim when you finally steeled your nerves
“Ooh, you want to see that old dragon’s country? I believe the Queen right now is Maleficent.”
Perfect. Then you’d subtly slide yourself into her court (if you could) and wait for your favorite old grandpa to be born.
Although… wouldn’t you be the grandparent this time around?
Author’s Note:
I actually had this all written out when I made the og posts lmao, but I’m really glad I decided not to post this until today, cause on the way home from work I came up with the idea for Grim to be more than a monster cat thing, but rather an Amalgamation. I’m working on the idea of expanding what exactly that means, but so far it’s pretty much a creature that grows in power by eating and assimilating other beings. The Grim we know now is more akin to the creature we see in the very beginning of Twisted Wonderland, who we all assume to be Grim at this point, considering all of those blot crystals he’s been eating have been adding up.
I’d love to expand more on the idea of who exactly this Grim is, but I’ll save that for later posts about the characters themselves. Next thing I plan on working on is a Character intro to Grim. The way I’m kind of moving with this that’s easiest for me is essentially write chapters/headcanon posts until we meet a new character, and then come out with character intros as we go.
Although I do encourage you all to send asks and ideas to me because If I do end up writing more about a character and get particularly inspired by a certain character I might skip chapters and stuff just to be able to write about them lmao. I’m not afraid to skip around to get to certain points, especially if I’m inspired. Right now though, as is, I’m going in order.
Order btw, last note, is going by age. So Lilia > Malleus > Third years > Second years > First years, with the exception of Silver, who I still have yet to figure out where he’ll be, since I haven’t decided if I want him to be human yet or not. If he is, he’ll have to be with the first years era. So far though, I kinda wanna try and get everyone to be a race other than human.
That’s it! Thanks for reading yall! Hope you look forward to more parts!

The Demon Fox of Twisted Wonderland: Prologue
<Intro> <Chapter One>
content warning: cannibalism (mentioned), depression (mentioned), female bodied reader
You had absolutely no idea what was going on. One minute you were, assumedly, asleep in your bed. In your room. On earth. You know, the one in the milky way? And we do have to be specific here, because there is no way in hell you were on Earth anymore. Case in point… You turned your head once more to look up at the sky. There were a lot of strange things about this sky. The fact that there were way more stars in it than you had ever seen before, having grown up in an area with enough light pollution to snuff out each little glimmer in your home world, but besides that, the most glaringly obvious was the moon. Or rather, the moons. There was one moon that was the biggest, and I mean big. In your world it was small and further away but this one was right up close, while it wasn’t engulfing the sky, it was so much closer you could actually see mountains on it even more detailed than just a bunch of dark dots. Off to the side of that single large moon, were two smaller moons, like they were little babies or something. Those two were the size of your moons as you remember them.
That wasn’t it though. Because the evidence proving that you weren’t in your home world first began, with your body. Once more you look to the ground staring at your paws. Yes. Your paws. Pure white like snow with claws that look like they could rend a man in two if you so much as swiped at them lightly, but as big as a bush. Hell, the rest of your body even matched in size. You were a giant fox, with nine tails to match. With your large body you were easily scaling up above the trees in your area and if it weren't for the fact that you were on a mountain, surrounded by miles upon miles of other trees, you might be worried that such a huge body would be drawing unwarranted attention. It was incredibly inconvenient.
“If the little soul finds this one’s body so displeasing perhaps it should return it to its previous owner.”
Oh yeah. And there was that too.
“I told you if I knew how to do it I would.”
The other soul, the soul of the previous owner, harrumphed inside of your head. “This one knew she shouldn’t have trusted that blasted mirror over such things. Always speaking in riddles and such.”
“What mirror are you talking about anyways?” Seeing as there wasn’t much else to do at the moment, you bowed your head below the tree line and started pawing at the ground before finding a spot to lay comfortably on. Though the body was new it felt like a rather instinctual movement. “And what did you ask this mirror to do?”
“That is none of your concern!” The answer your soul buddy gave was rather quick and though you had just met her with your soul saddled up in the same body and rather close together, you could feel that she was embarrassed about something.
“How bold! This one is not embarrassed and you should do well to remember your place!”
“What did you like wish for true love or something?”
“NO!”
Somehow you felt you hit the nail on the head.
“Okay so you wished for true love, but that doesn’t explain why I’m here. In your body. Instead of like, you know, my own body?”
“THIS ONE DID NOT-... You- FINE. I did not quite wish for any so such or thing. I merely questioned the mirror what one should do about… this one’s… life. After being alive for so many years and alone for nearly all, the daily drawl grows tiresome. One can only eat so many humans and play with so many lives before things tend to get boring and life seems to lose its previously golden glow of excitement.”
“So-” You let out a rather large sign and put a paw over your eyes, “We’re going to completely disregard the eating people thing and just sum it up to that you were depressed and lonely.”
“What does ‘depressed’ mean?”
“Wow uh. Okay so like I’m going to dumb it down pretty hard but it's definitely not the definition, but depression is basically like really sad a lot, you can’t really get up the energy to do things like you normally would or eat food or generally take care of yourself. Life kinda loses its meaning and all of that. It gets so bad for some people that they literally end their own lives.”
“Oh…”
“If all you want is a friend then I’ll help and all but I find it rather confusing that we ended up like this.” You reared your head up and used your paw to motion as well as you could at your body.
“That would make us both confused then, little soul. The mirror simply told this one where to find ancient magics that might assist me in finding a solution and after finding a book on otherworldly summoning this one thought it a great idea to do such a thing… However, as unexpected as this situation may be, it is rather… nice.”
You could feel the relief she felt just by saying that, as if some sort of weight was lifted off her now metaphorical shoulders.
“Uhh… How so?”
“This one can now leave the living to you and simply tag along as an aide as need be. No longer shall she need to worry about the normal and bothersome things, and should this one get lonely she need only speak up!”
You were a little dumbfounded. “So you’re just going to give your life to me?”
“The idea grows better by the minute.”
“What if I don’t want it though? Didn’t you say you eat people? Aren’t people going to want to kill us for that?” While she thought the idea grew better by the minute, for you it was growing more terrifying by the second. There’s no way you’d be able to fight off hunters that might want to kill you, you don’t even know how to hurt a small animal let alone a human!
“No need to worry over that, darling. The powers of this one’s body should come just as naturally to you as well. Should that not be the case, well, we have an eternity together to learn. Simply being alone I was able to live for… thousands of years? Hmm… this one has long since lost count. Perhaps we should mark today as our new birth? Spring is just beginning as well, so it would be quite poetic.”
You really couldn’t find it in yourself to fight against her at this point. Compared to how her soul felt when you initially got here and now… it’s like you could feel her soul reenergizing itself or something. Ruining her parade now felt like you were going to kick a puppy.
“I guess then… the name is [y/n] it’s nice to meet you...?” You paused waiting for her to introduce herself.
“This one shall grace you with her name, since from this moment forth we are eternally bound. Sweet [y/n], this one’s name is Kumiko. You would do well to remember it, but also remember, names have powers. Don’t share yours with others so readily. You may only do as such with those you might trust with your very soul itself.”
Oh goodness. The whole name with power thing exists in this world? That’s gonna be a hurdle to get over. “Kumiko? Where are we anyways?”
“Twisted Wonderland.”
Although the forest had been deadly silent the entire time, as if not even a single bug dare speak might it anger you and your partner, you felt like it got a whole lot quieter.
“K-kumiko… what year is it?”
“Hm?” You could practically hear the head tilt, “You’ve grown rather anxious all of the sudden, and what’s this about a ‘year’? What is that?”
Suddenly you felt a headache coming on.

The Demon Fox of Twisted Wonderland
content warning: soft-yandere, initial afab reader (then shapeshifting unlocked), genderneutral reader, violence, blood, death, abuse, mentions of noncon but none actually written or happening, cannibalism? (demon fox/reader eating humans), cult, twisted sense of religion, unhealthy relationships, possessive/obsessive thoughts & behaviors, potential harem/poly, more added as needed
You were just another human in your little world on the planet Earth. You played video games (probably), watched anime (probably) or maybe you did normal people things like... socialize? Maybe... watch sports? Either way you have one thing in common with a bunch of other people that find themselves here.
You played Twisted Wonderland. It was an amazing game really, you adored playing it and spent loads of time maxing the cards of your favorite boy or boys and even more time spent wasting away reading more fanfiction of them than there was real content from the Big Disney themselves. The night you went to bed nothing was awry.
You fell asleep easily enough, perhaps a miracle in it of itself, but when you awoke is when things became strange, and perhaps the voice in your head was a bit off too...
This Au specifically does not take place in the original Twisted Wonderland, though it's called Twisted Wonderland just the same. You have found yourself in the body of a very old and very tired Kitsune who is gladly letting you take the reigns of her still very large and very dangerous body.
With this in mind, you'll have to figure out how to mitigate her previous "leave no human uneaten and no village unterrorized" reputation, but don't worry, not even Lilia has been born yet, and I'm sure your new friend the Nekomata Grim will gladly help you do... whatever it is you plan on doing with that new body.
Oh, wait, your worried about having to wait for your favorite characters to be born? Sweetie, you're now an immortal being with more power than you have sense, you've got time to spare, and lots of times to make plans and backups for those plans as well, so that everything goes just the way you want.
