Down The Rabbit Hole - Resource "Rabbit Holes"

This set of "rabbit holes" were made in mind to help users obtain resources without having to have the resources on a lot, or visit another lot that has them. They also are intended to replicate the "rabbit hole" function of a sim "being away" but without the consequence of weird time between community and home lot, or time fast forwarding on a home lot when all sims are technically off lot.

They were made this way so that it can be played as if one sim is gone for a certain number of hours, but the rest of the household can go about their day as you play them.

They are not required for any of our other mods to function, but in contrast you require nearly ALL raw resource mods we've made to have these function fully.

THESE OBJECTS WILL NOT FUNCTION ALONE, THEY ARE NOT INTENDED FOR STANDALONE USE.

Manual - Rabbit Holes

All "hut style" rabbit holes are repo'd to BB Niche and the Forestry Biome Hut for a total of two subsets to recolor. They can be found in Hobbies > Recreation for $0.

Rabbit Holes are usable by C-E sims. Children have shorter periods of being away and "explore" to bring back various things they've stuffed in their pockets. T-E sims can forage for 4 or 8 hours for varying resources that fit the biome that the hut is meant to represent. All huts look the same (so users can decorate as they please) so make sure you read the descriptions for which one is being put down. All sims will take motive hits while "away", gain nature enthusiasm if FT is installed, and come back with a number of items from a random pool.

Rabbit Holes are split up by biomes. Each biome offers related resources, and some even offer very specific bonus gathering options.

Forestry Biome - This rabbit hole can be used to obtain various items from The Giving Tree set, Wild Berry Bushes set, Wild Mushrooms set, Firewood set, It’s A Trap! set, and The Game’s Afoot set.

River Biome - This rabbit hole can be used to obtain various items from the Gone Fishin’ 2.0 set, and gather reeds or clay specifically.

Ocean Biome - This rabbit hole can be used to obtain various items from the Gone Fishin' 2.0, as well as things like sand and brine.

Enchanted Forest Pathway - This rabbit hole is intended to supplement items that are mostly used in tea crafting, potion crafting, medicine making, and sources of more rare or magical and fantastical items one typically doesn’t find just lying about.

Injuries, Accidents, and Dangers: Halfway through any given number of hours of work, a sim has a chance for an unfortunate situation to occur which will cause them to return home without resources. The higher their proper skills, or even possessing certain traits, the lower their chance of having such a situation occur. Children who go exploring will not experience this.

Inventory Tool Navigational Compass: This item will do the usual of helping sims to do actions despite what traits they may have.

Placement & Access: Each hut only uses 1 tile for interaction, but occupies a 3x3 space. It is recommended to use BOBs or Fences to keep sims from clipping through the structure, leaving the tile where the door is clear.

Happily Ever After: Dark Ages Headpiece

I converted this headpiece before, but with the veil, it was tricky to place it even with sliders.

I redid the conversion again, now using the  hat-hair method  and here is the result. This newest version is BASE GAME COMPATIBLE. I also did a new, edited version: I never liked the front, too modern for my taste. Now the hairline is more appropriate.

This means that you add the hat in Hats section - and the hair comes with it. Hair color is added automagically, if you change the hair color of the sim, the hair color of this hat-hair will also change. It's not a method that suits all hats. In the merged file there is a file called HairOverlay, and if you want to edit the hair colors, you do it in this file. The mesh for hair is in the hat file.

All age versions merged in one handy file. The kids' versions take their textures form the adult version - one merged file. Unmerge the files if you want to edit or remerge but remember to keep the files together.

Happily Ever After: Medieval Cone Hennin for All Ages - Updated

This is the Cone Hennin from Sims 3 Generations, which only had a kids version. I made it available for adult and toddler sims as well. I also slightly edited the veil. 

The kids and toddler's versions get their textures from the adult version. All merged in one file, if you want to edit or remerge, unmerge first.

This hat works with hair with hat chops.

Natural Pet Relief Patches

Inspired by the work @jacky93sims had done already with making their "unlimited potty pads" for cats and dogs, I took the code a little further and also put it into a style that would fit my games better.

Instead of needing two different objects for cats and dogs, now both can use this one object, and it remains unlimited uses and no need to clean. They can be found in Misc > Pet for $0, and are quarter tile enabled and compressed.

Seasonal & Non-Seasonal types SHARE A GUID, so you must pick ONLY ONE depending on how you'd like it to function.

I've come up with 6 styles: Grass Patch (+ seasonal variant), Leaf Pile (+ seasonal variant), Straw Pile, Cornflower Patch, Anemone Flower Patch, and Shallow Hole. Each come with some built in recolors.

Imma be real: this started as a recolor, but I could not resist doing more than I had to. (Which is par, for me.) So now it's a set: two mesh edits, one conversion, and four accessories. The Sweetheart's Box: Candied Figs - Medieval Override My historical couples are having a bit of a challenge at balancing life/the farm/foraging/hunting you get the point, and while they did finally decide they had good compatibility after the birth of their twins (finally! thank you!) , they're still struggling to keep up that romance bar. Soooo

I've made a relatively simple wooden texture for the modern box the sweet treats from Lovestruck came in, and went for more of a sepia toned "label" inside the box to avoid any colours that might have been too saturated to look like common historic dyes

The texture is, as usual, up for debate. I'm okay with how it currently looks.. But I feel like I could improve it if I dedicated some more time to it and got some sleep. HOWEVER, it works well for a medieval/historical context. When/if I make a better texture for it I'll update it here and make a note of it so people are aware (:

Description: This is a texture override for The Sweetheart's Box: Candied Figs that came with the Lovestruck EP- I haven't done any overrides for any of the other treats yet but I probably will just for the sake of having them all done, if there's a particular one you want done feel free to comment and I'll probably get that one done next.

Requirements: You NEED the Lovestruck EP for this to work. This isn't a custom food/object, this is an EA object from the Lovestruck EP that I pretty much re-skinned to make it more suitable for medieval/historical playthroughs. More information, in-game photos, and free download available here

Pottery Tools - Medieval Override

What I Did:

The kidney is now made out of wood that has been lightly polished with beeswax.

The stylus (not pictured) is made out of wood, and polished with beeswax as well. I have absolutely no clue where or if this stylus gets used- I looked everywhere- but I included it anyways because it makes no sense for it to be there if there isn't some chance it'll be used for certain animations.

The sponge has been changed to resemble the colours of common natural dried sponges instead of the modern synthetic sponges.

The glue is now in a ceramic container, the nozzle is ceramic and it's screwed down by a wooden "lugnut" of sorts. The tip of the glue has a few colours on it; yellow (for dyes and "natural" glue), blue, green, brown, and black. All common dyes and colours you might have made back in the day- they are slightly more saturated than I would like but I didn't want it to all mush together in one big blob. I figured sometimes you might have glue, and sometimes you might be using slip; coloured slip, or glue with dyes added to it. So I wanted the "tube" to reflect that versatility.

The Kintsugi paint is now in a slightly nicer ceramic container (compared to the glue). I removed the flappy plastic top and replaced it with a wooden cap that I personally believe would be plugged with cork or something similar when not in-use. The golden shimmer on the top of the tube has been changed to a natural gold metallic colour to reflect the colours typically achieved by gold.

The airbrush glazer is now comprised of walnut and oak wood, there's some iron used to keep it all together. The piece at the end where the glaze sprays out is forged out of iron. The container for the glaze is made out of wood that can be spun into place on top of the glazer; topped with a leather cap to avoid drying out the glaze/spilling.

Medieval Pottery Kiln

**Businesses and Hobbies EP Required**

What I Did:

The kiln now works off-the-grid.

There are no lights when the kiln is in-use- or at any time for that matter.

The wooden part of the kiln has been changed to look a bit less processed; I think it compliments the pottery station nicely but it doesn't match (yet). It's made out of walnut wood but the tones are slightly different. I added a bit of ageing/dirt to the wood.

I removed everything from the shelves; I'm considering adding some objects to them at a later date but for now you might be able to mess around with bb.moveobjects and place your own items there.

The clay stored at the bottom in now wrapped in leather to help trap in moisture without the use of modern day processed goods. You can still see a slight colour shift of the original clay through the leather which I kept because I thought it added a nice touch of realism.

I removed the plastic bucket.

The kiln itself is made out of stone which has been gradually darkened over time from the firing of pottery; I'm not exactly happy with it. But in-game I do enjoy it and I will personally be using it as a placeholder until my actual "Medieval Pottery" idea is complete.

The legs holding up the extremely heavy carved stone kiln are made out of weathered iron.. we won't go into the logistics of how that works I just thought it looked better than wood or stone 😅 All of the EA animations have been left intact, nothing about this object has changed other than it's textures. (and the things I removed)
