We went to go and watch Bob markets musical “get up stand up”.
This was useful because we got to see how performers executed their singing talents on a stage. The performer cleopatra whom played Bob Marleys wife really stood out to me. For the following reasons; her projection, breath control and raw talent. This was an inspiration to watch such an amazing singer and actress perform her song live. Effortlessly she executed difficult and beautiful notes. Her pitch was on point and her breath control was amazing. She took over the whole room not only stage with her voice.
It was nice to see a musical where they showcased such an unique culture. The authenticity of the show and the musical asset to the show was amazing. Watching the singers sing as well as dance all in tune on time and as good as they did was amazing.
One thing I took from the show that will help me in my future in singing is that always sing with emotions. Even if you’re pitchy or out of tune (which they weren’t) if you sing emotively the audience will not pick up on that and will move with you, with the emotions you portray on the foreground whilst performing your song.

I learned about microphone elements and what makes up a good microphone sound system in the studio.
I learned about the circular shield in front of the microphone which is called the pop shield this shield helps soften out p and s sounds and makes them less prominent and harsh.
The silver semi circle shaped cover at the back ground of the mic is called the reflection field. This helps round the sound up and contain the sound. It also helps dampen everything together making everything smooth.

HALLELUJAH BY ALEXANDRA BURKE solo song
WWW- It was a very emotive performance, I expressed my emotions with in the song and felt the words which was evident in my performance.
Since the first solo I performed earlier with in the academic year I believe I’ve improved so much more from my tone and keeping in pitch the whole performance. I’ve song with much more confidence to execute the right notes resulting in me not sounding flat.
I elongated the notes where needed to achieve the correct notes
Ebi- I had better timing. At first it was quite difficult for me to sing in time as i am used to singing in acapella and catching the right ques was hard for me. I feel like In order for me to improve I need to practice words that I’m going to sing with a backing track at first. To avoid me getting into the bad habit of singing out of time.

I performed an ideal quick yet convenient vocal warm up. This is a quick routine that you can use anywhere. Getting ready for a quick audition or a performance. I practiced various warm ups such as warm up face, tongue twisters, the chewing gum routine that warms up your face as well as reacts your jaws. And last but not least scales. Scales is one of the most versatile warm up you can do them with a piano, vowels, numbers, humming and notes.

In this piece we performed OCEANS BY HILLSONG. With in this performance we practiced Breath control, Tone, blending, and harmonies.
As I hadn’t had the chance to sing the ensemble song in our original Christmas show due to having Covid I had the chance to do another song and I think my voice was well suited to this one. It was a wonderful experience to learn how to blend my voice in the harmonies and this process gave me confidence in my singing technique.
Techniques
Vocal blending with the other voices to make smooth consistent harmonies
Volume control so that one voice is not sticking out more than the rest
Breath control
Pitch to ensure that I am hitting the high notes as the harmonies were only a semi tone apart in some places
Listening skills - listening to the other voices to make sure I’m in time and in tune with the other vocalists.
