Journalist Siraj Abudayeh ( @siraj0), who lost everything in November 2023, wanted his story to be shared.

After almost two years of genocide, through which he got displaced multiple times, he finally had the chance to return home in the North. Now, once again he faces the danger of artillery shells and bombs and has to evacuate as the area has been marked for attack.

The Gaza Strip is one of the last places people can go for any kind of refuge, and even now, there's still bombing taking place. There's hardly any refuge or food, the hospitals are suffering due to limited power, and many people do not have the money to leave. That is why they need our help! Outside of Gaza, there are refugee stations and help centers to help shelter the escaped Palestinians, but they have to get there first. And in order to do that, they need someone to help get them the money, that's where we, as people outside of Gaza, come in! It's our time to do something, and all of us are able to some capacity. Since then, they have been living in this tent, which offers neither protection against the cold of winter nor the heat of summer, nor does it ward off fear. The area they now reside in is under threat of being stormed at any moment, and the father, Siraj, is unable to sleep at night, worried about his children.

"We want nothing more than to get out of here. We just want to live in safety," the mother says, cradling her little girl close to her chest. The family has tried to flee again, but transportation costs have become an insurmountable obstacle, as they don't even have enough to eat.

Hussein's wife tells him that the tanks are getting closer and closer and the planes are not leaving the sky. Hussein replies, "I will look for a car to transport us." She tells him, "Hurry. Your children are very afraid." Hussein went quickly to look for a car. After suffering, he found a car and sat next to the driver's seat. He returned with it to transport his wife and children. There was a bombing and the driver told him, "I will not be able to get any closer." Hussein told him, "Wait for me here. I will bring them here." Hussein went to find citizens around his house, Which was completely destroyed by the occupation over the heads of his family, and with this, Hussein’s family departed to heaven, and Hussein remained suffering the pain of separation and the oppression of his family, which he could not save from death.

This is a true story that happened with our neighbors, and it was made into a photo story.
