Every encounter leaves a mark.  It’s possible that all this happened after he died, the dolphins could have been playing with his floating body and the shark might have been interested in scavenging. It’s hard for me to tell if the marks happened after death here… hopefully some experts can chime in. Other places to see my posts: INSTAGRAM / FACEBOOK / ETSY / KICKSTARTER

Rigel is available exclusively over at @theterroriumshop !
This little pint-sized devil won't take kindly to people talkin' smack! His four red eyes have a slight following effect to add to the scare-factor of his omniscient gaze as he roars at your guests from the wall!
He has very neat (and strange) curly soft fur and righteously broad goat horns!
To claim Rigel for your own, please contact @theterroriumshop for purchase!

GIVEAWAY TIME!
This is a real muskrat skull that I painted to look like malachite. No hydro-dipping here—this is all hand-painted and involved a lot of very tedious work!
I’ve been painting skulls for over a decade now and these malachite skulls are my most recent design. They are extremely time-consuming to create but I am thrilled with the results and I’m stoked to get to share them with you wonderful peeps!
You will receive the muskrat skull pictured along with a lovely chunk of real polished malachite. I always include a few extra little goodies too! And I pay shipping so no worries there!
RULES:
• USA ONLY! Sorry international friends but I can’t ship wildlife parts out of the States.
• Winner will be selected Friday, October 11th.
• Like or Reblog, it’s all good.
• You don’t have to be following but it would be appreciated. This is after all meant to be a little ‘thank you’ to my followers! :D
• As per Tumblr’s giveaway policies I must state that Tumblr is in no way affiliated with this giveaway and you must be 18 or older to enter or have a parent or guardian’s permission permission to enter.
Don’t want to wait for the giveaway to be over to get your own Malachite Painted Skull? You’re in luck! Check out my Etsy shop for my original art work—including more Malachite Skulls!—and other unique oddities!
I’m also having a giveaway on my Instagram for a malachite deer jawbone too!
Thank you all! I hit 15k followers here a while back (wow!!!) and I am so very grateful for all of you awesome folks. <3

Three-time World Taxidermy Champion Ken Walker recreating an extinct Irish elk using DNA studies and Paleolithic cave paintings for reference. Apparently this took 4 elk hides to make!
A book recommended by fieryflyingpanda (thanks!) that talks about this mount and others done by Ken Walker:

Totally just bought it for 4 bucks, and that’s including shipping! Maybe they’ll have info on the smilodon that he did too! I’ll let you guys know!

Juvenile Op.ossum Skull
I can’t believe I found everything BUT the right-side incisor piece (incisive?). I’ve scoured every spec of dirt and I’m pretty sure I found every single toe bone (some are a quarter of the size of the smallest incisor) but that piece must have been lost while pulling her out of the compost. Hopefully I have some spare parts stored away to frankenstien her!

Opossum Skull with severe damage from a massive parasitic infection.
Found this poor critter dead under my shed a few years ago. It was covered in ants and at first I thought they might have had something to do with the the tiny holes bored into every bone in this animal’s body. After much more reading and research it seems that the culprit is a parasite, possibly Besnoitia darlingi which can cause thousands of tiny cysts in an animal’s body.
