What I still don’t get about young Xehanort (the time travelling one in particular) is whether all the weird stuff around him is just a bunch of plot holes or it’s all a deliberate choice.
The jackassery with his age for example? He is supposed to be Xehanort before Scala, yet that Xehanort is obviously younger than him.

Scala Xehanort is time travelling Xehanort’s age only when his training comes to an end, as we see him talk about it with Master of Masters in that one Re:Mind cutscene.

You may say that maybe YMX left for the future after leaving the Islands and finishing his training at Scala, but no.
I can’t think of any explanation apart from this being a plot hole, but it’s apparently not a plot hole since this age difference junk continues to stubbornly appear. If it was a plot hole they would have noticed it and stopped making it worse (AT LEAST I HOPE SO).
Either Xehanort did something to rewrite the past and leave the Islands sooner than he’s supposed to, or he magically looks 18 when he’s like 15, or he aged up while he was time travelling. The last option is the most reasonable one, if you ask me. If that’s the case his age was probably just reset when he returned.
His age shenanigans is not even the weirdest thing about him though.
He says this line in the Toy Box before he blasts Sora into Verum Rex (with a weird red attack he never used before that looks kinda similar to riskcharge from Rage Form for some reason)
It’s implying that this moment played out differently before and YMX is CHANGING IT. This should be impossible as you can’t change the events that already happened and everything you do just sets them in motion.
Impossible, unless it’s the second rendition of events after the jump to another worldline. Here everything may play out differently (strongly recommend to read the sleeping realm theory if you didn’t). Why is YMX aware of events being on their second run then? Is it because of his time powers? Is it because of something he’s done during the original timeline?
Anyway, here’s some examples of him knowing stuff He’s Not Supposed To.
Here’s him talking about Sora being held together by Kairi and the other princesses of heart after the fall.
Here he is telling Sora to find the hearts of the fallen guardians.
He’s essentially telling him to escape the fated fall to darkness. When all of the guardians fell, the X-Blade was forged, which means Xehanort won with no one left to stay in his way.
And yet, when Sora brought everyone back Xehanort lost. So why did YMX tell Sora to find them? Why is he happy about Sora ceasing to exist and still believes he’s won in the end if he told him to go after the hearts of the guardians which ultimately led to Xehanort’s defeat?
There’s something wrong about all of this. YMX goes out of his way to make sure Sora bodies the old man and disappears. Which takes us to the next part of this wild ride and we are going right off a cliff.
YMX was supposed to go back to his time after the events of DDD. Why is he in KH3?
The only answer I can give (besides Nomura being unable to write a straight story to save his life and forgetting that YMX said that he is going back to his time at the end of DDD, of course) is that YMX from KH3 is either a replica or not Xehanort at all. My guess, considering that this guy constantly contradicts himself in KH3, would be that it’s both and there’s two of him, like there’s probably two of Riku. In case you’re not familiar with the sleeping realm theory (go read it!!!!!), Riku from San Fansokyo may be not the same person as Riku Replica that’s on Xehanort’s side. He also has a very high chance of harbouring one of the original 13 Darknesses from Union X, the ones that Master of Masters wanted to trap. This Riku’s actions, just like some actions of YMX from the Toy Box, don’t line up with the Organization and Xehanort’s goals. Here’s a quote from the theory because I’m lazy:
“It turns out, there are multiple “Darkness”, and they often refer to themselves as a group. Conveniently as does Riku in BH6.
While we’re led to assume it’s just the Organization, this is a frustratingly perfect narrative loophole. Something to point to later going “Ha HA! The “we” he mentions is actually a different group entirely! GOTCHA!” which is pretty par for the course so far as this series is concerned. Something else that lends to this is that his goals don’t really align with the Organization. His goal here is to find a way to recreate the heart, possibly using data while focusing pretty strictly on darkness. The Organization on the other hand has plenty of hearts to go around, several options at their disposal to the point multiple characters are benched or go AWOL and they still meet their quota.
The point remains at the end, regardless of WHO it is, that the Riku in BH6 is most likely NOT the same one in the Keyblade Graveyard.
Rikunort 1 (????): Org coat, calm and smug demeanor, doesn’t get his hands dirty, calls plans into question, focused on data and uses actual Bug Blox from Re:Coded (and now frequenting KHUX), no qualms with not being “real”, has obvious ulterior motives.
Rikunort 2 (Repliku): Dark mode suit, aggressive and cocky attitude, very ready to get his hands dirty, follows orders willingly, insists he’s real til death, actually confirmed to be Repliku. Loves long walks on the beach.”
So Riku is looking for a way to recreate a heart in BH6. And what YMX does in the Toy Box? He’s looking for a way to place a heart in a vessel. Of which, by being Xehanort first and being in the Organization second, he is supposed to know plenty.
Moreover, why would he want to remember something if he knows that he will forget everything when he returns to his time? It doesn’t add up.
This phrase doesn’t sit well with me too, as like with BH6 Riku, the usage of “we” could mean not the Organization, but some different collective. And this YMX’s actions (throwing Xehanort under the bus, searching for a way to put a heart into a body) do not align with the Organization at all, but align with BH6 Riku’s goals perfectly. Which could signify that YMX from the Toy Box may be one of the Darknesses too. That could explain why he knows so much - if I’m not mistaken MOM mentioned that Darknesses might have sneaked a peek at the book of prophecies. It would also stand to reason why they want Xehanort out of the picture - he wanted to restart the world and rid it of both the false light and the darkness.
Where is YMX that’s on Xehanort’s side? He’s the one that catches up with Sora in BH6 after he recovers Lea’s heart and the one at the Keyblade Graveyard.
This all may seem like he knows a bit much too, but it’s actually different - he just makes observations and arrives at a logical conclusion as the dangers of misuse of the power of waking is a common knowledge between keyblade wielders - Mickey knows about it, Yen Sid too. Why would he scold Sora for going after his friends’ hearts if he told him to do it himself anyway?
There’s an important divide between the way YMX-Replica (lets just assume he’s a replica, I don’t have any other answer to why is he even there) and YMX-Darkness treat this matter: the replica warns Sora about the dangers, thinks that Xehanort will win anyway and is happy that Sora will cease to exist, the Darkness just tells him to do it and it even looks like he’s helping him. And it’s not returning the hearts of the guardians that makes Sora go take a vacation in Shibuya either - it’s jumping between guardians’ hearts to reach Kairi’s. And young Xehanort would know about a backup plan to make Sora run after poor Kairi’s heart in case they somehow avoid the fall. Kairi brought the armored Xehanort with her after all, which gave him a second chance to try and press the “reset the world” button. We know that the old man pLaNs FoR EveRy eVenTualitY and YMX knowing about his plans is not knowing too much. But YMX telling Sora to actually go after the hearts is very unnecessary and actively harmful to Xehanort.
A curious weirdness can also be noticed during the very first exchange with YMX at the Toy Box.
This (like everything else) may be far fetched, but why wouldn’t Sora remember him? If we don’t take this being the second run of KH3 events as a deciding factor of the time period because Sora doesn’t realise that more time has passed since, DDD happened days ago. Though, there is one thing from the dream that Sora may not remember.
This guy.
He’s the only nightmare that’s human, he has YMX’s body model that is unique to him, he uses red blades just like the ones YMX used in BBS, uses a bunch of YMX’s attacks and a couple of Ansem’s. He’s just Xehanort all around but also isn’t. What are nightmares again? One of the forms darkness takes in the sleeping worlds?
Him being “the first of the Xehanorts” would make sense too, as Xehanort is a reincarnation of the player character that was possessed by 4 different darknesses. This may just be one of them.
Moreover, this mister bears a striking resemblance to Sora’s Rage Form.

The eyes are the same and the patterns are very similar. I’m not saying that Sora is a Darkness too, of course not. What I’m saying here is that some Darkness or even multiple ones are helping Sora. Rage Form is there to save his life after all as it only appears when he’s low on HP.
I already mentioned that this weird move that YMX pulled looks very similar to riskcharge.

You can use riskcharge up to 3 times. Every time you use it a little crystal appears.

The texture of these crystals is identical to that of a heart. It’s like they are shards of hearts.
Every riskcharge changes Sora’s combo finishers. One of which is the summoning of these dark pillars - one for each charge.
Of course, let’s not forget about the stance Sora takes while in Rage Form which is similar to Vanitas, YMX and Riku’s stances.

Another similarity between these three that would further prove their status as Darknesses is that they all have Gazing Eyes in their keyblades. And what’s interesting about Riku and YMX having it is that they don’t have it in their other keyblades (I don’t count the No Name old man Xehanort has as his, it’s MOM’s keyblade). Soul Eater that later becomes Way to Dawn has it, Braveheart doesn’t; YMX’s No Name has it and Xehanort’s keyblade from Dark Road doesn’t. Vanitas is a confirmed Darkness, Riku and YMX have a potential to be Darknesses. It wouldn’t be surprising if MOM needed a way to spy on them. If he knew whose form they will take and when they will take it he could just sneak a little Gazing Eye on that person’s keyblade. It could also explain why Sora’s eyes transform in the data bossfight with YMX - that’s how MOM probably does his spying thing. It’s not like he could see anything from a keyblade that gets swung all over the place. Woudn’t it be more comfortable to see eveything through nearby person’s eyes?

So, Riku, Vanitas and YMX have similar fighting stances, Gazing Eyes in their keyblades + three shards circle Sora and he can summon three pillars of darkness while in Rage Form that looks a lot like that one Nightmare from DDD that’s probably related to YMX. Very interesting chain of coincidences.
Also, remember Vanitas saying that?
Rage Form doesn’t cast a shadow.

Lastly, there’s this interesting detail with villains’ final conversations with Sora. Almost everyone gets their sweet little character development moment. Everyone but Vanitas, Riku Replica and YMX (Xigbar/Luxu too, but at least we know what his problem is). And even if Repliku and YMX that are defeated at the Graveyard are not the Darknesses, the fact that it’s them who get this special treatment, along with Vanitas, is still kinda telling.

Hello all of 2 people paying attention to this. I've accidentally drank coffee on an empty stomach so best believe I'll probably be cranking out a part 3 of Classpecting Kingdom Hearts in your near future. For some reason, when I do that I suddenly start remembering things and actually can scrape together enough energy to manifest my thoughts in reality. Here is one that has been kicking around for a while that I will pass to you.
Demyx is very animated for a nobody and matter-of-factly states that nobodies do have hearts. And yes, we later on find out that they can grow new hearts and he knows more than he should know, yes, but we never really find out how the process of growing a new heart works; is it over time and separate from environmental stimuli or can it be influenced by what the nobodies are experiencing? If it is the later, than the events of Kingdom Heart would probably supercharge the process for Org13? If so, let's go back to Demyx for a second; he can confidently say that nobodies have a heart because maybe he already went through the process of growing one and becoming aware that he did so before the events of Kingdom Hearts 2 and maybe even KHDays. How long did that process take? What are the events that lead to it? There are other characters whose nobody status is still shrouded in mystery like Marluxia, Luxord, and Larxene; Marluxia has amnesia so that explains them, but what about the other two? Why is he the only one so open and normal about it?

Kingdom Hearts (Homestuck) Classpecting Part 2; And Another Thing
Link to the first part:
https://www.tumblr.com/sirquestingbeast/730023827295354880/kingdom-hearts-characters-homestuck-classpect?source=share
Welcome back to another episode of undersleeping and overthinking. In the first episode, we released a brainless torrent of classpects and the foundation of how they were chosen. Kinda. There are definitely some in there had too little to properly classpect and others...IDK man I simply cannot enter the headspace needed to dissect every line of Xaldin/Dillan or Luxord's dialogue for multiple interpretations that could lead to a more comprehensive psyche profile. Sigurd: Knight of Light I don't actually have a lot to say about this guy, I just ran out of tag space in the previous post lmao. Knights have this thing about vulnerability which is usually on visual or thematic display; shrouded faces, long sleeves, sunglasses and whatnot. They also tend to start pretty proficient in wielding their aspect. They are also more than happy to use their aspect to serve another or a greater cause. Seeing how he was introduced in KHUX, it is easy to see that for now, Sigurd is our Lore Guide...and maybe actually Luxord just saying. Master of Masters: Muse of Time Excluding all theories and just using what we know, he's giving void because it's surprisingly so little despite his impact. I think that could also be chalked up by being a Muse class; while this doesn't mean anything because typology wise master classes don't say anything about a person, considering his background and story that is kind of the point. He became Master of Masters - or the muse (master) class - because of events in his life. I think that in itself is just time player shenanigans. Time players have really strong and stonelike keywords that make them feel more tightly bound to their aspect in rigid ways than most. Master of Masters was definitely some other class and maybe aspect before, but gave that up-and maybe even who he is as a person- for his current objective. Hayner: Thief of Void Hey man check out this little dude. He doesn't get as much credit as he should for the ability to 1. Go with the flow when it comes to the insane bullshit Kingdom Hearts sometimes brings but from the perspective of someone 97% uninvolved and 2. Throw down with someone clearly out of his weight class. He is iconic and therefore thief. And no, he isn't void because he is irrelevant; his relationship with information-an aspect of light- does give a push and pull quality to him. But where a thief of light would increasingly pull more and more information until they achieve a relevancy in themselves, a void would literally take the information as it comes to them and work within their limited relevancy. Sterlitzia: Rogue of Rage: Rage gets a lot of bad rep for just being full of negative keywords; strife, struggle, tension, madness, and literally negative emotions and whatnot, but remember aspects are not bound to their most obvious connotations. Pining is a kind of struggle, and what is puppy love if not a certain kind of madness? All jokes aside, rogues feel like the type of class that takes the keywords of their aspect, reduce them to their most beneficial forms, and distributes them with the intentions of gaining a net positive. But I also believe rogues often tend to have a lot of eyes on them much like the thief, but usually with consequences. KHUX Player Character: Bard of Hope Hate to say this but player character's post KHUX story is hitting a bit too far home with Gamzee's. I know MY dear player character would never become a destiny fanatic, so they have me fucked up, but the fact that there is an arc that we don't see that leads player down this stalwart path hints to this being some sort of bard awakening. But whereas Gamzee what disillusioned by the idea of destiny and prophecy, player character literally gained a new life in it.
Ephemer: Witch of Breath Witches are a class that likes to operate outside the grid and think outside the box. They aren't often held down by conventional thinking and circumstances, so they are the best when it comes to utilizing the amount of control their class gives to them, but in a very specialized self-serving way. Ephemer isn't necessarily what we would normally see as good friend material; first he stands you up, then he hits up your dreams to ask you to bail him out of reality jail. I could really see him being a hope or breath aspect, but to me he leans more breath as conceptualizing him as a hope player also tends to spill into aspects of blood, but as a breath player, everything is still within the realm of breath and it's mirror aspect. Speaking of hope... Baldr: Maid of Hope Maid characters are thought to serve their power and are also a pun on the word "made", meaning that they are their powers. An aspect of both rage and hope is establishing a belief system that is healthy for you based on external forces; where rage often deeply understands these external forces, sees their critical weaknesses, and tries to rise above them, hope tends to start as naive to them and are challenged to find their own truth with what they have. Baldr's knowledge about the nature of hearts, light, and darkness was lacking and flawed. The things that are internally his hope took on these flaws, so he had to create an external ideal of the hope in his sister, only for that to be taken from him leaving him to rely on the hope he internalized. And why not just not give in to that power? Because he is a maid of it; that is who he is as a person. Take care of your hope players, y'all, as they can get really scary when misguided... Brain: Seer of Mind Seers are a fun class where they know their aspect and want to master it at the risk of some sort of peril; sometimes from their aspect or the mirror of their aspect, and sometimes just because of their own tunnel vision. They are one of the more explicitly characterized classes so you know one when you see them; a know-it-all and maybe even a little bit arrogant who isn't afraid to get unethical or harm themselves to reach a goal. While Brain has mostly been shown in a positive note, I can't help but feel with the information given to us at the end of KHUX, knowing he is involved in Missing Link, and knowing it is set before Dark Road sets things up for an equally dark path. Brain feels to me as strong of a blood player as his potential as a mind player. Ultimately I believe the difference is whether or not you consider whatever the events he is involved in are the appropriate path for him or not. Am I going to clarify which is which and what is my stance? No, because if I don't I cant be wrong, silly. Eraqus: Knight of Mind This guy was a little tricky for me to type at first, but ultimately I figured him out before Brain and it just may be a bit of a coincidence that they fall in the same aspect...maybe. Mind and heart both are aspects that involve the concept of making choices for people; mind from an ideological standpoint and one from a personalized standpoint. Mind is more about concepts like karma, justice, actions and their consequences, and moral choices. First instinct would tell you that Eraqus did a terrible job at all that, and as a knight, that should be his thing, right? But like Baldr, he was operating out of a system lacking critical information and perhaps was even fed misleading information. However, as a Knight, he still devoted himself to the service of what he knew. The knight of mind is a very dangerous classpect to have so much going wrong like things were in Dark Road, and that culminated to the events of Birth By Sleep. Also knight of mind is a jedi and he is voiced by mark hamill. jk but it is still funny. Tune in next time where we cover more bbs characters and probably some more tragedies alongside them. Ciao for nao~

Kingdom Hearts Character's (Homestuck) Classpect Pt.1: I'm Not a Liar.
Howsitgoinguys I'm back with that thing I promised. I never forgot about it, it was just that some characters were so hard to classpect that for the sake of my sanity I had to step back from the project. But I'm back on my manic bullshit so not only did I get it done, but I have classpected every single character originally from Kingdom Hearts. Before I announce the first batch, I just want to be clear about my Classpecting system.
💋 I treat Classpecting as self contained like a horoscope or MBTI type thingy. But not as a personality thing; more like incorporating the story as a whole into the healthiest state of being for the character.
💋Because of above, I don't believe any Classpect is doomed to fail; it depends on the actions and events of the story and clashing with other classpects that lead down that path. Death can very well be part of the journey for a character but it shouldn't be the end; Foretellers yes, Dark Road no.
💋 My point of reference is literally what I remember from Homestuck itself, some notes from the Classpecting for Assholes by Neurotypeline video and the wiki HOWEVER I have also seen Optimistic Dualist's and Ouroborista's videos on the subject so if their influence it's felt... I just can't help it man, I don't have original thoughts.
💋 I believe in aspect duality; Breath-Blood, Time-Space, Hope-Rage, Doom-Life, Void-Light, Heart-Mind
💋 Breath/Blood is forward progression, Time/Space is foundation, Hope/Rage is symbolism and themes, Doom/Life is narrative, Void/Life is lore, Heart-Mind is character development. HOWEVER these categories aren't isolated. Characters can dip into adjacent concepts to help progress the main; the closest two inconsequentially and the ones further out with the possibility of an issue occuring.
💋 Characters are also linked to their mirror; sometimes in symbolism or their inclination to lean into it. Depending on the class and the context it can either be a nifty tool or super detrimental. In general even the most flexible classpect will go down a bad path if they lean more heavily into their mirror than their true Classpect.
💋 This is not a statement on powers or personality. Being the same Classpect as a cannon character doesn't mean shit I'm just dumb like that. The way I see it, your aspect is a collection of keywords, your class is the origin of your power/journey to getting it, and what the results of that are purely up to your imagination.
💋 Similar classpects will probably feel some type of way about them. Certain classes function the same way in a typically replicable way so they might relate on their journey. Certain aspects usually have keywords that correlate to ideological beliefs. They might also hate each other and be polar opposites because they interpret those keywords differently or they don't embrace/understand the journey of their class.
With that out of the way, there are a collection of types where there isn't enough content for me to do anything but vibe type them or...I dunno. I just don't have a lot to say about them. If your fave is on here, I'm sorry bestie. If you press me for your fave individually I will be happy to explain the reasoning but off the top of my head, I have nothing to say about these motherfuckers.

#kingdom hearts #KH Terra #Justice for Terra #Terra had darkness in him, but he RESISTED it #Eraqus was clouded by his preconceived notions of darkness + Xehanort priming him to look for darkness in Terra #Eraqus completely overreacted and broke Terra’s trust, leaving him vulnerable to be manipulated #Eraqus also seemed to shelter his students so he clearly wasn’t ready to be out in the worlds in the headspace he was in
I feel so vindicated about Terra after seeing Sora almost get Nort’d in 3D. The only thing that bothered me about BBS was that Terra didn’t read as someone mad at his friends or tempted by darkness.
He’s my best friend, he’s my pal, he’s my homeboy, my rotten soldier, my sweet cheese, my good time boy.

#kingdom hearts #KH BBS #KH Re:Coded #KH DD #So validating to read this #I love Re:Coded, the mobile games, CoM, and KH3 #I don’t know what to tell you 75% of the fandom but they are just fun to play #have a feeling DDD will be on my list too when I play it.
I don’t know if it’s just because I’ve been playing through the Kingdom Hearts franchise on my own but I’ve been having the best time and I haven’t played a game I hated yet.
“Aw well Birth by Sleep-“ It’s so fun
“Oh but Re:Coded-“ It’s really fun
“Then there’s Dream Drop Distance-“ So FUCKING fun
There have been Moments™️ while playing but I haven’t had a single game I legitimately hated. All of them have been fun and felt relevant to the overall franchise - either plot wise or emotional character stories.
I’m staring down at least watching in depth videos of the X Games and Dark Road, finally going to play KH3 for the first time, I’m so happy.

A Xemnas who doesn’t actually care about the plans he’s following, but never let himself think about it because he’s supposed to be Xehanort and therefore never fully realizes it.
