As you can see, I got another one of those “movie stills with listener dialogue in the subtitles thingies” in the works. So for episode 2 after Carmen first shows up, I had this idea where she was in a lab coat as a part of the “horticulturalist” bit but I might leave it out.

He says with a complete and utter lack of self-awareness. Yes I’m aware that he’s actually kinda self aware. I just wanted to type “complete and utter lack of self awareness.”

Then I discovered that this same image can be used for another moment.

Blakeley: (sarcastic, unconvinced) Wow, that’s very thoughtful of you “Al,” are you trying to win “Host of the Year” or something?

In one Q&A, it was said that Jäger is basically like Alfonso if Anselmo lived long enough to raise him which gave me the idea to make Ursula like my version of the guest before the last episode but with more ambition from struggling more in life/on steroids.

Not actual steroids but as in “this woman survived the last 10 years of the Great Depression on a farm+arsenic poisoning+police academy+attempted assassination+career pivot to private investigation+a shady ex-fiancé+CIA training and lived to not tell the tale 50 something years later when government officials pull up to her funeral” (in chronological order)

I’m leaning towards giving her an eyepatch as a part of her disguise since no one will ever suspect a poor, defenseless woman missing an eye to be capable of espionage. Should I get rid of the eyepatch or am I gonna make her say auf wiedersehen to depth perception?

This is definitely not inspired by how I’ve always thought Alfonso deserves to be the “cool uncle.” No siree bob, where did you get that idea?

“Vampire in the Making”

From the second episode and throughout the rest of the series, I imagined the guest in something that’s more practical as opposed to typical 2000’s fashion (before and after she gets a pouch for silver bullets from Carmen). It’s meant to be one indicator of how seriously she’s taking her situation and the time she has left as well as the resulting shift to another side of her personality that strays further from “casual and friendly” when she first meets Alfonso. Her second outfit is also supposed to make her seem more like a “vampire in the making” in which the clothes themselves should’ve been what a modern-day vampire could be expected to have on but the color is what holds it back.

And to prove my point, here’s what it would look like if the colors fully leaned into the “vampire” aspect.

Blakeley: It’s only a quick walk there and back. (In jest) What’s the worst that can happen? Getting run over by a sparkly vampire?
