Duck Brown and Marty Mc...Fly? Idk, his name's already a pretty good bird pun.

This was originally going to be a full page of (human) Marty drawing practice, but every time I get into something, I tell myself "I won't draw them as Disney ducks"... and then I end up doing it anyway. Enjoy. :)

I changed the flame placement a bit so they really went through Doc Brown's legs, and also changed his pose a bit so it was easier to draw.

I started with Marty's design - I gave him the big eyes (as opposed to the ones you see on, say, Gladstone or Magica) because I felt like he had to be able to Really stare at stuff. I also wanted him to be very ducky, so he could be significantly shorter than Doc, so his design is very basic.

(I do, however, think his design could be more interesting regarding Bird Gender. I like to hc Marty as trans, and I feel like I made him into a very cis duck, with his big eyes without eyelashes (compare Kay K, Magica, etc.), his clothing (female characters rarely get to go without trousers/shoes), his ducky proportions (female characters are often more humanoid), and his lack of Leg Frills (see Daisy for a good example of this). I guess his beak is kinda short (female ducks have shorter beaks) and he has non-white hair (which is basically a requirement for female characters) but... yeah. If anyone wants to do more with his design, feel free to change those things!)

Doc's design... Augh. I looked to the taller birds (like Gyro) for inspiration (because he had to be taller than Marty) and ended up giving him smaller eyes (so he could have wrinkles), eyebrows, and a bunch of white hair, and then decided to give him a duck beak (so he could look different to Gyro)... which means I inadvertently designed him as Ludwig-with-Gyro's-body. I didn't really grow up with Ludwig, but I do see the resemblance.

Art style wise, I mainly looked at Barks-like stuff, mainly this Maximino Tortajada Aguilar comic (for shocked Marty), but I also had a bit of Italian inspiration in Marty's little Cavazzano hand (for flames Marty).

And here's the full page - I added the "live marty reaction" (and speech) once I realised it would fit quite well with the rest of the page.

Happy (belated) international asexuality day!

And a bonus Odin - I was tempted to just draw him waving a pride flag, but he didn’t strike me as the type of person to reveal anything about himself, least of all something so personal, so I went with a more subtle approach. I like to think that the black ring symbol is mostly unknown in the 23rd century, so he’s able to wear it without anyone realising what it means. (And yeah, I still accidentally got the hand wrong despite specifically looking it up, haha.)

After about three months of overthinking and 12 hours of digital drawing(!) I finally finished this! I really wanted to have a way to celebrate drawing Ducks pretty much exclusively for a year and I'm super happy with how this turned out so I'm posting it here as well! I know it’s been a few days since Halloween but I only just made a digital version that I really wanted to share :)

Thought I’d share the Ted design I ended up with! I feared I’d have to make him into a dognose character, but I think goose-with-big-eyes works! (More thoughts on the matter can be found here.)
