i haven't been here lately anyway but i thought i'd announce that i probably won't use tumblr as much anymore. i'll keep my blog up for archival reasons and i might log in every once in a while to see what everyone is up to but my free time has become too precious a commodity and anyways most of the people i was closest to have left too... mutuals can ask for my discord but i apologize in advance because i suck at keeping in touch. but anyway i hope everyone does great and is happy forever 🥺 it's been real you guys 💕

paul: okay, we have to come up with some ideas for the next album. so i was thinking—
john: i have an idea for a song about how im a piece of shit fat ugly bitch with no friends and is hated by everyone and should die. i’m going to call it Dumbfuck Asshole About To Kill Himself.
paul: ……right! cool! i was thinking more along the lines of “i love you girl and want to dance with you” but that’s really good too!

My name is Aya Maher, a 24-year-old Palestinian from Gaza. I want to share the heartbreaking story of my family. My mother, Ashwaq, is 43 years old, my brother Hamza is 22 years old, my brother Bader is 16, my little sister Nada is 12, and myself. We've endured 280 days of continuous bombardment during this devastating war.
Since its onset, we've faced a relentless cascade of losses. Our lives have been emptied, and the dreams we once pursued now seem like unattainable fantasies.

We were displaced from our home, and tragically, we lost our new home as well—a place we had worked tirelessly to create, hoping it would become a sanctuary where we could build beautiful memories.

Despite being displaced from our home by the presence of occupation forces in our area, we found refuge in the home of relatives. Our lives have been repeatedly endangered by barbaric bombing campaigns. We narrowly escaped death twice during sudden tank attacks. Additionally, we endured intense bombardment while trapped inside our house, enduring a harrowing four-day siege.

Despite the immense difficulties, my family and I insisted on staying in Gaza, facing the constant threat of bombings and the scarcity of essential resources. Now, after five months of siege, we are on the brink of famine, struggling to find basic necessities like food, water, and medicine. We've decided to leave Gaza for our safety, but the high costs of coordination are a barrier.

My professional life has been utterly decimated. For three years, I thrived as a user interface designer on freelance platforms. However, since the onset of this war, my ability to work has been obliterated. The occupation's relentless bombing campaigns have ravaged internet infrastructure, rendering it barely functional. Now, even basic online tasks are nearly impossible. Consequently, I'm left without any financial means to sustain myself. What's even more disheartening is the realization that even after the war concludes, the road back to work will be fraught with obstacles due to the extensive damage inflicted upon network lines.

I'm reaching out to you with the hope that you can assist us in achieving our goal more quickly. Normally, I wouldn't ask for help, but the fear of losing a family member has compelled me to seek your assistance. We hope you can empathize with our situation and help us amplify our message so we can achieve our goal swiftly.

I have no sympathy for veterans of imperial core militaries, no not even if you were outright drafted.
actually there is a very easy way for everyone in an imperial core country to not be drafted into a war and that is to dodge the draft and take the prison time or fake a disability, something that is extremely easy to do compared to the people having the war brought to them whose only option is to become guerrila soldiers or stateless refugees. i do not sympathise with anyone who is even the least bit whiny about making the right choice, nevermind someone who surrenders to becoming a bloodsoaked shambling war machine without a fight because 2 years in jail was too hard wah wah. the fact that sending countless innocents to their screaming deaths for USAmerican or european economic interests was easier for you than student loan debt or a criminal record does not exonerate you. rather the contrary, it marks you as a monstrous coward who deserves to have his entire squad immolated alive by guerrilas.

If any of you, especially USamericans, have any money to spare, I recommend donating to the From Our Hearts to Cuba campaign, dedicated to getting pacemakers past the blockade. 50 pacemakers have already been installed in patients, they are 75% of the way to the current goal of $250,000. They are part of the broader, global struggle to break the blockade as well, and they outline some of the ways USamericans can help in their website. Cuba already has an exemplary cadre of doctors and a great system, all that they're missing is the essential equipment the US starves them of.

Hey guys. I have some horrifying news about one of the fundraisers. This listing belongs to a family that wants to remain anonymous but keeps contact with me and the organizer. I don't know how to say this, but one of the two beautiful daughters has been martyred as a result of an air strike. The neighbour's building collapsed on them from the impact. The situation is absolutely harrowing and they need your help. I just received news of this 5 hours ago as of drafting this post. Please do not hesitate to help them.

siraj calls us his beautiful and kind friends. Let's prove him right!
I know I'm rarely on here but I wanted to take just a moment and spotlight Siraj and his family. Their beautiful home in Gaza was destroyed in one of the countless attacks by the fascist state of isntreal, and they're now seeking to rebuild their home. I feel genuine joy when Siraj messages me on Tumblr; he writes with such poetry and the love he has for his family, for him house, his wife and his children is so beautiful. He calls me (as I'm sure he calls all of the people who care to share his posts) his friend, he calls us good and honest. I want us to keep proving Siraj right.
Right now, Siraj's GoFundMe is at $25,210 CAD out of a $82,000 CAD goal. Let's try to get this even further! Inshallah, his home will be rebuilt and the people of Palestine will be free from genocide and apartheid!
I'm starting a donation train, also! I've given $25! Can anybody match me?
