A post about Warden!!! :3

Why is everyone hating on this little man? No, I'm serious, I've noticed this hatred for him in both rus fandom and eng fandom…. AND I JUST DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY…?

I often see Warden being compared to Hadrian WHAT DOESN'T MAKE ANY SENSE????? 💀

It's been mentioned many times before, well I'll say it again too. Comparing these two just because they have sadistic tendencies is STRANGE. Hadrian had it purely for desire, entertainment, he controlled the games and what happened in episode 8, he literally had the power. And Warden… What about him? He's the head of the prison, no doubt, but I'll remind you that in the game if you get him to tell the truth, he makes it clear that he considers himself just as much a prisoner as anyone else who's in there…

He doesn't have a choice, Romeo put him in prison himself, made him in charge, but still I don't think he's going to just let him walk away or do whatever he wants. Because Warden has essentially no power, except for his higher status than the prisoners, he's doing everything he can to get Jesse to do what he can….

I mean, the only time he's ever shown that sadism is when he either kicks Radar and makes him fall and break his glasses, or when he strangles him with an iron block. But guys, seriously??? Poor Radar, no doubt, but man, it's not like he kills him. :(

I even had a friend once discounted the moment, which I did not notice myself while passing the game, where Warden strokes his back during the dialog…. He's mocked him, he's comforted him. Isn't that sweet? And he wasn't just messing with him for fun, he was messing with him 'cause he was trying to make Jesse feel sorry for him and make her become a associate with him. Yeah, and why would he make Jesse become a associate like him?

There's a good chance it's Romeo's request. But I won't deny that it could be Warden's personal whim out of concern for Jesse, because even Brick knows who Jesse is and that she defeated Wither Storm, so Warden must know that too, I suppose.

That's not the only time he's shown that concern for anyone. For example, remember the moment where Jesse distracts Warden and Petra/Jack falls on top of him? Well, the first thing after Jesse and Petra/Jack escape is him yelling that the maze they're heading into is DANGEROUS. Literally warning of possible injury or even death….

There was also a moment when Stella went into Warden's office to show off to Jesse, and when she mentioned something about her connection to the admin and about being here in the prison and bossing everyone around, Warden just said something like "be afraid of what you wish for, Stella", as if caring. Most likely he regretted that he agreed to be the right hand(?) of the admin, but he had no choice, I'm sure this decision was made because of fear of death or something…. Yes, for the sake of it he threw his friends, yes, it's bad, but also to hold on to friends in prison is a bad idea, who knows how it could have ended for him….

And lastly I'll just remind you that when he brought the mooshroom into the prison cell block, he gives the choice of whether or not to shear it's mushrooms. And if Jesse refuses he won't shear it himself, even though he threatened to do so. :3

Of course after that he took all the mycelium that gave the mushrooms to spawn, and that's extremely cruel, but the fact that he didn't touch the mushroom cow makes feel a little better about him….

Overall, the Warden is just doing his job. At the end, when Jesse frees Xara and he notices her, a track literally called "The Warden's Duty" plays in the background. He swore to Romeo that Xara couldn't get out, so not even afraid to sacrifice himself was going to blow up the whole bunch, along with Xara, just like that…. An extremely loyal man to his job, who even after being "fired" was ready to do the job… And that's-- It's commendable, to tell you the truth.

I like his personality, too. It's tough, but it's a silly either! I mean, think of the time Romeo teleported him into the zombie mines and he was eating a cake out of nerves. How adorable is that…

It's sad that people in the fandom don't analyze characters at all. The character is good, very much so, he's not as evil as many people think, but they still hate him. Reminds me of the prisoners in the game itself. They were all going to beat up Warden, even though he's not really guilty of anything. They would have been better off hitting the Admin instead of him… Poor guy was killed for just blabbing information that could've gotten Xara in trouble if it wasn't for Jesse's trust in her. If he had stayed alive, I don't think he would have done anything useful for the plot, but I could believe that one day he'd get out of the underneath and find happiness in Boom Town again…. Because, yes, this bro is also a former griefer… :3

Anyway. I love him that's all, and I don't think he deserves to be hated. Hate Hadrian and Mevia cause they really deserved it.
