Y'know, I think the White Fang arc has actually aged a LOT better than most people give it credit for, given the fact that tankies and terrorist stans have gained a DISTURBING amount of traction in leftist spaces.

Adam's White Fang are, essentially, the same kinda leftists who, rather than fighting against actual injustices, just seek out easy targets to violently lash out against so they can PRETEND they're doing good. The bloodthirsty vigilantes who brutalize scapegoats so they can pretend they're fighting fascism, when really they just want to be the ones wearing the boot.

Essentially, Adam is a grifter using leftist rhetoric, the Fox Faunus from v4 and 5 are tankies, and Ilia is someone trying to figure out how to reclaim some kind of power after being made to feel powerless too many times and having that despair exploited to put her onto a specific path; a path that doesn’t actually help with any of the things she was feeling despair over, but sounds good, sounds like it could help resolve that despair and anger she feels.

And if leftists don’t think that has any parallels to reality, they’re not paying attention.
