Chapter 3
As the warm summer sun bathed the mint-green gem in sunlight, sending rays of mint-green light in all directions. “Alright, first things first, an introduction. Let’s see. . . OH, I know I’ll write about the admirabilis. I mean, I’m the only one who knows about them as of right now.” “Oh, wait, if I do write about them, then everyone will be suspicious about me knowing about them?” “I mean, I can just write a rough draft and see how that turns out? Right, I mean what’s the harm in that?” As Phos lets out a nervous chuckle, he starts to write about the admirabilis. Who they are, what they can do. And how they look with a very detailed drawing of someone very familiar. As the sun fell to the horizon and the sky turned a scarlet hue, all Phos became so absorbed in his writing that he didn’t even notice the yellow butterflies gathering on top of his head. “WOW THIS IS LOOKING AMAZING! SENSEI IS GOING TO BE SO PROUD OF ME!” Just then, an arrow whizzed past Phos’s head, narrowly missing him. “AH WHAT THE!” Phos jolted backwards and fell onto his butt. As Phos scrambled to his feet, another arrow flew into the log where he had just sat moments before. “WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT!” Multiple arrows started flying towards Phos, and with just seconds to spare, Phos narrowly dodged them with grace. “Crap this isn’t good, if only I had my agate legs then I could avoid these arrows easier!” “The only thing I can do is run for now!” As Phos tried to turn and run towards the school, an arrow nailed him in the back of the head, breaking off pieces of his hair. “DAMNIT WHY CAN YOU JUST LEAVE ME ALONE YOU MILKY WHITE ASSHOLES!” As Phos ran with all his might, a blur of scarlet and gray flashed by and ran with such speed towards the lunarians. Cinnabar, a scarlet red gem with a hardness of two and a sour attitude towards themselves, flung as much mercury towards the lunarians, covering them and sending them back to the moon. As Phos stood there in shock with his mouth agape, the scarlet gem started to stomp towards Phos. “THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU!” “YOU SHOULDN’T EVEN BE OUT HERE, LET ALONE BY YOURSELF!” As Cinnabar yelled at Phos, not a single word was understood. “Cinnabar, it’s you…?” “TCH, You're not even listening to me, are you?” “WAH AH YES I’M LISTING!” “Whatever, what are you even doing out here anyway, Phos?” “Oh, umm, I was working on my new job. I’m writing an encyclopedia.” Then it hit Phos his encyclopedia, where was it? In all the commotion, Phos had dropped the encyclopedia and had lost it. “Umm, you wouldn’t mind helping me find it, would you?” Phos said sheepishly, hiding his head behind his hands, expecting to be yelled at. Cinnabar let out an exhausted sigh. “Fine, you also lost some hair, didn't you?” “Uhh yeah, I did. Rutile’s gonna be mad he just fixed me up early today.” Cinnabar rolled his eyes and stalked away to find Phos’s hair and the Encyclopedia. As Phos walked in a different direction, he spotted chunks of his hair scattered around. As Phos breathed a sigh of relief and gathered his hair, Cinnabar silently stalked towards Phos and dropped the encyclopedia next to him. “Sorry.” As Phos looked to his right, he saw that the encyclopedia had been covered in mercury and was beyond saving. As Phos just stared at the paper and the sun started to set. Phos turned his head, giving a smile to Cinnabar. “It’s all good, I can always just make another.” As Phos stood up with his hair in his hands, he just walked away back towards the school, and Cinnabar walked back to his cave, waiting for someone to save him.
As the next few days passed, Phos sat in the school rewriting what he had lost yesterday, but instead of writing about the admirabilis. Phos had decided to write about all of the gems and keep a detailed section dedicated to each gem. “Let's see who I should start with?” As Phos thought about who he should start with first, Jade had walked by, chatting away with Euclase. “OHHHHH JADE~ CAN I INQUIRE YOU ABOUT SOMETHING~” “Hmm Oh Phos it’s you, what's up?” “Oh well, same old same old. Hey, are you free right now? I wanted to ask you a few questions.” “Uhhh yeah sure, Go on ahead, Eculase, I’ll catch up.” “GREAT! Let's chat over here.” Phos led Jade to a bench and started asking Jade a bunch of basic questions. “Sooooo, First things first, how long ago were you born?” “Ahahah, well, I’m not that old, ya know, I’m younger than Euclase though. THAT'S ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW, MISTER NOSEY!” Jade jumped up and, with a huff, he stomped away. “Oh, well, I can figure it out myself.” And with that, Phos stuffed his nose back into his work and sat on that bench for the rest of the day.

Chapter 2: The start of the encyclopedia
As pink and gray gemstones littered the ground, the milky white Lunarians collected the gemstones to take back to the moon. But before they could, Sensei broke off a small sliver of himself and blasted away the lunarians. “Caring for your elders, are we? You know you're supposed to let Jade and Euclase know about Lunarians sightings before fighting them.” Morganite turned their head as best as they could to look at Sensei without breaking anymore than they already were. “Yeah, yeah, we know. It’s all my fault, Sensei, so punish me, not Goshenite.” Morganite bashed from embarrassment, but the look in his eyes showed pure remorse for his actions. “Very well, I shall consider it.” Phos knew what was going to happen next. Jade would yell out, and Sensei would yell back, causing Phos to break and fall. Sensei would then explain the whole point of the encyclopedia to Phos. But Phos wasn’t listening; he was more concerned with what was happening to him. “Am I really back? 10,000 years of isolation, and yet I have restarted this tormenting process.” Before Phos knew it, he was back in Rutile’s office being put back together.
“Well, I see you're back here for the second time today, Phos.” The sound of Rutile’s voice pulled Phos out of his thoughts just enough to give Rutile a slight nod of the head. “Well, shall we get started then?” As Rutile started to put Phos back together, the once overly obnoxious and loud Phos was merely a quiet statue waiting to be finished. “Is this really Phos? He’s never been this quiet before. And yet something about him seems off, almost like this isn’t Phos.” As Rutile went to grab another piece of Phos, he noticed something was off about the gem. “Phos, are you doing alright? Normally, right about now, you would be complaining to me about hurrying up.” “Ah! Yes, I’m alright, Rutile is just lost in thought. Sensei finally gave me a job, so I am very excited about it, that's all.” “Alright then.” Rutile turned back to his work and went to grab some more glue for the light green gem. “This feels like a dream, but I have all of my senses. I can’t believe it.” “I’ve really restarted, huh? Oh Rutile. It’s nice to see you again, though it may not have been a pleasant welcome.” Maybe, just maybe, they’ve granted me mercy, or this is some absurd glitch in the universe?” Phos’s gaze narrowed at the thought of going back to before. In fact, it made him nauseous at just the thought of going back. He could never go back. As Rutile turned back to place some pieces onto Phos, he noticed the very serious look of desperation and determination on Phos’s face. “Are you sure you're alright? You seem like something is going on.” Ah crap okay Phos just act innocent and silly. Your normal self, you got this.” Ah, yes, I’m fine, Rutile. I’m just nervous about my new job. I don’t want to mess it up, ya know.” “Yes, well, if anything is bothering you, just let me know.” “Yep, will do, Rutiel. Now that I am almost finished, I want to get started on my work, and I don't exactly have my arms yet.” Phos let out a little chuckle and held up his arms, gesturing down to them with his head. “Yes, yes, I’ll finish up now.” As Phos waves goodbye, Rutile walks back to his desk and picks up the small bit of lapis lazuli and carefully examines it. “This is definitely Lapis lazuli, so how did it end up in Phos?” Interrupted from his thoughts, Rutile quickly places the lapis in a safe container and gets back to his work. As Phos leaves Rutile’s office, he makes his way to Peridot's area and grabs enough paper to start the encyclopedia. “Now, last time I didn’t know how to start this, but I definitely know that I shouldn’t go and find Cinnabar right away. I need to wait a little bit on that.” “Oh, I got it. I’ll start with a detailed list of everything that we don’t use around the school and the island.” As Phos starts to leave the school, he starts to feel a sense of hope, but it is quickly replaced by a sense of dread. “This has to work. I need this to work, otherwise… NO I CAN DO THIS!” Phos slaps himself and struts out of the school with a pep in his step and determination on his face.

The start of another 10,000 years (phos restart au) Chapter 1
As the sun shone down and the grass billowed, layed a mint colored gem resting without a care in the world. Fragile as the flap of a butterfly's wing, and the most sought-after gem by the Lunarians.
“PHOS, PHOS, WHERE ARE YOU I KNOW YOU'RE HERE!” Morganite yells for the youngest gem. As if a sweet melody was being played in Phos’s ears, Phos jolts awake, not realizing where he was. “Huh, what’s going on?” In a sleepy voice, Phos slowly pushes himself up from the grass bed and slowly looks around at his surroundings. “Phos, there you are, Sensei wants you.” “Oh, and don’t worry, Goshenite and I will handle the lunarians, just run along.” As Morganite starts to turn around, Phos realizes what’s going on. Everything that has happened in the last 10,000 years has restarted. Phos’s eyes widen, the shock plastered on his face, he jumps up and starts to run as fast as he can to Morganite. Phos jumps and launches himself onto Morganite, tightly wrapping his arms around the pink gem. “I MISSED YOU! I MISSED YOU SO MUCH!” “Phos, what are you talking about? I literally saw you earlier this morning. Did you have a bad dream?” “Whatever Sensei wants, you now go on, I need to help Godhenite.” The pink gem pulls Phos off of him and gently sets him down in the grass, then runs towards their partner to help fight.
“Sen-sei. . . Right Sensei. I should probably go then.” As Phos started walking, the thought of what was going on popped into his head. “Wait, what is going on? I thought. . . I thought everyone was prayed away? And yet I’m back to normal?” As Phos walked through the long grass, a thousand thoughts raced through his mind. Like what was going on, how did he get back here, and what was going to happen now that he was back? After a while, Phos reached the school. A building of pristine white quartz, carved out by hand, stood tall in the center of the island, giving a home to all who live here. The school that Phos once knew was falling apart and beyond saving, but this building was beautiful. Little ponds of salt water hold jellyfish of all sorts of colors. As Phos took the first few steps into the school, he was greeted by the presence of old friends and the once very imposing Sensei. Phos knew that if he acted differently than he normally would, then he wouldn’t be able to achieve anything. The one thing he had on his mind was changing the past and achieving a brighter future where everyone, including him, is happy.
“Sensei, you wanted to see me?” “Ah, yes, Phos, I have finally found a job for you,” Phos remembered what was going to happen next. Sensei would tell Phos that his job was to work on the natural history encyclopedia. Now, past Phos would have thrown a fit and complained about this job, but this time Phos will take this job seriously, but not too seriously. “REALLY YOU MEAN IT, SENSEI! FINALLY, WHAT'S MY NEW JOB!” “Your new job is to write our natural history encyclopedia. This job will help us prepare for the future and learn from the past as well. I trust you will take this job seriously.” “Of course, Sensei, you can count on me. Oh, right, I just remembered Morganite and Goshenite saw a small sun spot a little while ago. . .” Before Phos could finish his sentence, Sensei rose from his spot and started to walk out of the school to find Morganite and Goshenite.
