when Zazu starts singing "it's a small world" while trapped by Scar. Scar complains about the song, alluding to the way the song gets easily stuck in many people's heads much to those people's annoyances. Disney acknowledging a negative reputation and capitalizing on it for a throwaway bit! Love it! (I believe the stage production had the song changed to "let it go" for the same reason)

everyone talks about one-hit wonders, but no one seems to think about two-hit wonders. neon trees released “everybody talks” and “animals” and then fucked off forever. LMFAO released “party rock” and “sexy and i know it” and then apologized and left the radio. many such cases, all of which are deeply fascinating to me

ive been thinking a lot about dtau like retrospectively and i think its a little crazy thinking its. 3 years old. i was a sophomore in highschool (i feel like you can tell by reading it LMAO) and now im gonna be a sophmore in college,,,,crazy

it’s definitely not the best thing written and if i were to do it all again now it’d definitely be very different but i look back on it fondly for what it was,,like i truly was just writing to make myself happy and i did! i remember laughing to myself while i was writing and i had such a fun time. and for whatever reason its my most popular fic on ao3! how wild

idk why im getting so reflective and sentimental on this post but!!! i do hold a lot of love for this fic and dumb world i created. maybe we can revisit it more in the future ;3
