Currently thinking about how Sam has not once ever been in complete control of himself.

He was basically sold by Mary before he was even born, Lucifer had a claim to him from the start too, Dean would like a remote control to his brain and he’s been possessed by almost everything.

Oh and chuck. So yeah. Sam Winchester has never once made a decision for himself

unpopular opinion: DEAN AND DESTIEL FANS CAN BE SO ANNOYING

i saw a tiktok about people having “hot takes about dean” and them being annoying and so I made a comment just talking about how people are allowed to have hot takes and not like/love a character and the creator started trying to fight me. Like it was NEVER that deep.

So Dean/Destiel diehards, get a grip. Nobody is killing Dean except the writers. Let other people enjoy a fandom space and express opinions without such heavy and unwarranted backlash. And if you’re gonna try and fight me on this, don’t bother interacting I don’t have time for y’all right now.

"dean is eldest daughter coded" just doesn't sit right with me... he literally inherited every duty and right from the former patriarch of the house, even the phrase he would use in the same circumstance(when they lost control over sam). dean's role as the eldest "son" is crucial to the story because this whole show revolves around traditional family values like patriarchy and primogeniture. I think this explains dean's complicated relationship with authority figures.  he experiences pressures under them, but he will eventually inherit this system as an authority someday because he is the firstborn son in the house. he knows he will forever be in charge of sam if he stays in that hierarchy. and that's the only thing that matters to him, protecting his little brother, even from sam himself. dean doesn't think sam can handle it himself. sam's rights in this house are not considered as same as the eldest son's. sam can never do the same thing as dean without being condemned, and you can clearly see it with this show's crazy double standards lol. no matter how rebellious sam is, the narrative always eventually sides with "the man of the house." dean is the righteous man and sam is someone to be saved, killed, or locked up. in this sense, sam is the woman coded one.

john turned the duty/right to kill sam over to dean, and the reason sam gotta be killed was something out of his control, something forced into his body. sam's autonomy was violated before even being born and the narrative portrayed it as it was enough reason to get murdered by his own family. while we know that(dean killing sam) won't happen, the show consistently reminds the viewers that the right to kill sam is still and always in dean's hands. yeah this is so fucked up. this was what I meant when I said sam is woman coded. it's not about how he acts or what he prefers, it's about how the narrative and other characters treat him. it's a different matter from headcanoning his gender or sexuality, which would need a whole new post for me to talk about. his rage is shown as irrational even though he has all the right to be angry, the narrative literally treats sam like "a woman who needs to be tamed." this show somehow succeeded in being misogynistic to a white male character, making people hate him for reasons that usually don't affect the white male protagonist's likability at all. and they didn't do anything interesting about of it, just made it keep happening. so ironically another layer of reality was added. honestly this show sucks for many reasons but the agony and horror born out of ignorance here is so real and raw that it compels me lol. that's why I'm stuck here.

Dean doesn’t care about Sam

Dean Winchester cares about his little brother that likes books, he however does not care about Sam Winchester the hunter who went to Stanford and survived Hell with the devil.

Dean seems to have picked the smallest parts of Sam from his childhood, and deemed that to be his brother, and the second Sam does something “out of character” like something for HIMSELF (like Stanford, Amelia, etc) he can’t be Sam, because his little brother would never do that.

It’s such a bad problem, as he doesn’t even think about Sam’s opinions or boundaries, because that’s HIS little brother, he is HIS so he can’t disagree with him because SAM, his little brother would only do that, because he clearly doesn’t know better.

Dude, in what world would he ever choose Cas? I mean if that’s what you wanna believe go ahead, but in cannon, you are genuinely wrong. You’ve forgotten the Dean Winchester mentality of Sam > Everyone.

That man has sacrificed everything for Sam on multiple occasions. I’m the biggest Dean Critic on this app, but even with that, I can recognize how much of his life Dean put into Sam. Sam is his life. “Could live without Sam.” WHEN?? When he stopped the process of CLOSING THE GATES OF HELL because he didn’t want Sam to die?? When he chose to let the apocalypse happen if Sam got to live?? Cause I’m asking genuinely, when was he choosing Cas over Sam?

They are CODEPENDENT. He has proved he can’t live without Sam so many times, and proved he can live without Cas. Destiel fans, get a grip.

do you ever think about how in the show if dean had to choose between sam and cas he would obviously choose sam. but if you really think about it the truth is he would choose cas. because he can actually live without sam, or learn how to, but he cannot function without cas. he would die with him in that very moment. if he really wanted to keep on living he would have to choose cas over his own brother. so yeah that's what i think about a lot

Post-cage headcannons for Sam

- He has so much of Lucifer’s grace, nothing supernatural believes him to be human

- He can see angel wings, and can sense when Angels are nearby due to being around Angels for so long

- He cannot be around the cold (Lucifer burns cold remember? The air conditioning accidentally turned on in his room and Sam couldn’t speak english for the rest of the day.)

- Can speak and read fluent enochain (has an actual hard time with english, will sometimes substitute english words with enochian ones because he can’t think in english, Deans ears have bleed because of this, many times. Reverts to pure archangel enochian when triggered

- He can tolerate extreme pain (at one point walked around with a huge gash on his stomach that he did not notice at all because of the pain he’d be forced to endure during the cage, he only noticed bc blood started to soak his shirt)

- He can’t remember a lot from before the cage. (He gets Deans name wrong once and is very confused, when Deans almost breaks down)

- Knows almost everything about Micheal and Lucifer and the entire family (he makes a comment about micheal when gabriel was in the room and gabe just stares at him, bc what he l

More Enochian-speaking Sam hcs

After speaking enochian, Sam has a bit of an accent to his voice (Dean notices it, but a random person would probably just think that English might not be Sam's first language) (which is also kind of true)

We know Sam spent over 120 years in the Cage, (I personally headcanon it was more like 500-2,000 years) so it makes sense where he would forget words or phrases in English and say them in enochian

Often during the aftermath of panic attacks or nightmares, Sam cannot speak or understand english, only speaking in Enochian.

Sometimes in the morning when he's still half asleep, Sam will try to talk to dean (like "good morning"), but will unknowingly say it in enochian

he doesn't really tell other hunters that he's fluent unless he needs to for a hunt. It just brings up questions about topics that he doesn't want to think about.

Sam is able to read the enochian lore books In the bunker that the OG men of Letters couldn't translate

Sam uses a mix of Latin and Enochian in homemade spells, which makes them even more powerful

that’s not his mother, he doesn’t know her. that’s deans mother, a woman from another place and another time.

A silent agreement between sam and her, only mom when deans around. other then that she’s just mary, someone from his brothers past, a hunter who he doesn’t know, and doesn’t want to know.

he talks to her, he understands, she talks to him. she wishes she could be a mother to him and at the same time, is so thankful, there isn’t the ghost of the woman a toddler remembers haunting Sams memory of her. because there simply isn’t a memory of her to him.
