Please, if you will... see my vision: The Mutadon and Distortus developing a symbiotic relationship like the Mosa and Spino, like Wolves and Ravens.

The Mutas are small (In comparison) and agile and dart around, but can't easily take down huge prey, or break through the thick hide of a deceased Anky, so they make a racket and draw the Distortus there, and also get their meal. They can go into small spaces like abandoned buildings and flush out small prey the Distortus couldn't reach. The Distortus doesn't have to waste energy trying to find food, nor get into a bunch of fights, because she has food scouts for her, and the Mutas have protection of a bigger predator, and a way to get better food than doing risky raptor ambushes all the time. The Mutadons aren't afraid of the Distortus Rex, because they're friends!!! ...And also please imagine the Mutadon occasionally being silly and pulling on the Distortus' tail THANK YOU GOOD NIGHT

Little details I love about the Distortus: Along with it being stated she's attracted to light, the two humans she eats in the film? They both wear white, making them even brighter.

It could be argued her eyesight might not be the greatest, either, which would also make sense with why she's so hesitant when it comes to her going after things. She's literally picking them up and determining "Is this food?" before clicking that "Yes! Food!!", rather than being a sadistic monster revealing in fear.

With all that in mind, it also makes perfect sense how Duncan, who was dressed in dark clothes, was able to escape her. As soon as that flair went out, she probably wasn't even able to see him anymore, and instead turned her interest to the sound of the boat taking off, rather than fumbling around in the dark.

Rebirth spoilers...

Currently sulking because Duncan's character was "I'm sad because my kid died" and then he didn't interact with the kid at all.

No gruff loner pulling a Claire or Alan where he slowly bonds with the kid and learns to protect again. No overly protective attitude. Not even a scene where they're rescuing the survivors and he goes "Oh. There's a kid here."

No "my son would be your age" bit.

They're in the movie, and it just doesn't come up. Surely you could have had him teaching the kid how to navigate rough terrain and find directions.

the new Jurassic World is a 10/10 but those 2 minutes where I thought they killed off Duncan were H E L L

If the original jurassic park came out now people would call it boring with not enough dinosaurs. Too many people can’t watch movies that don’t have excitement jam packed everywhere, it’s like people want short form content the movie. Now we’re the pauses maybe not as real feeling as the og? Yea probably bc the og rocks, but it is always a movie’s quieter scenes that speak to its quality. The scene where Bennet and Kincaid talk sunlight going across their faces was amazing

I know some people will disagree with me but I liked the aspect of jurassic world rebirth that didn’t focus so much on dinosaurs. The original movie wasn’t even really about dinosaurs they were more of a plot device to get across how life cannot be controlled, even by those in the 1% who talk such a big game of controlling the world. There was only 15 minutes of dinosaurs in that 127 minute film. So yea I don’t really mind that there was no triceratops or “velociraptor” (which weren’t even real velociraptors) or stegosaurus, and the dinosaurs they did have were very cool! I loved the titanosaurus and quetzalcoatlus, I loved that it followed the books vibes more and we didn’t get all this exposition on the mutants bc that wouldn’t make sense, none of the characters except rich asshole face knew anything about them and he wasn’t gonna share! I like that we are getting away from the world films who felt the need to Jam Pack dinosaurs and cgi into a movie giving it the same appeal as a recent marvel movie or Disney live action, sure it’s sparkly but there’s no creative love/appeal to most of them. A point that the Jurassic Worlds failed to grasp which made them shallower was that Jurassic park was NEVER about dinosaurs. I feel like a lot of people complaining didn’t get that memo and just saw ooh cool dinosaurs which was what characters like Hammond wanted you to think- because it’s an easy mindset to fall into and take advantage of.

Anyway I really liked the movie, and I’m waiting to see valid critiques not “hey where’s the dinosaurs there’s not enough or where’s this specific one?”

Don’t get me wrong my favorite- the Allosaurus was in the books but wasn’t in the films and it would have been cool but it’s definitely nothing to have the film thrown out over. AND also the plot was cohesive and it was reminiscent of the first jurassic movies- lots of introspection and a resolution at the end. Clearly it suffered from existing in a more corporate place because what was with all those brand names being dropped when the whole movie is you can’t buy something of great importance (but you can apparently buy yourself onto a jurassic movie now), but really it was a great movie and a lot of these critiques sound just bad at face level.

Hi tumblr, I'm still missing here but I just wanted to comment that I saw Jurassic World Rebirth and I have 2 things to say:

1. This movie gave so many vibes from The Lost World novel that it has become my second favorite of the entire franchise, I really felt fragments of the novel coming to me and it makes me very happy <33

2. Maybe too soon?? idk but, I have to admit I got vibes of a dino3 during the movie, I don't know, I feel like Henry, Zora and Ducan could be really silly together and the idea has been eating at me for hours (I'm in artblock so my hands are tied atm)

idk, I'll try to do something with this because I need to watch the movie again and I need fanfics or headcanons or ANYTHING ABOUT THIS MOVIE AND ITS CHARACTERS THEY'RE SO GOOD AAAAAAA

Look I get it he’s cool but I need something else besides mooning over white man jonathon bailey and his character on my feed. I WANT CHARACTER TAKES I WANT HEAD CANONS I WANT FANART.

No disparage to Henry Loomis as a character he just wasn’t my personal fav and I want to see other characters. I personally do like the idea of him being one of Alan’s adopted kiddos tho, that’s his father figure. Thats his peepaw. I think Alan probably had ~4 grad students and they are all siblings to me.

First was Billy then another grad then Loomis then prolly one more grad I think.

Guys am I in the wrong circles the only thirsting I’m getting on my Jurassic world rebirth tumblr I of Jonathon Bailey and Scarlett Johansson, I mean hey don’t get me wrong they’re great but there was OTHER hot people too there was leclerc and nina there was mahershala Ali and Manuel Garcia-Rulfo as a lovable and hot father figure for gods sake.
